    Vassikyn says with a wink as he leaves the others to get Rado. While he's going he dresses his double sword and contacts Yssa telepathically.

    "Give me a death from above old girl."

    Yssa climbs up the cavern wall and skuttles toward the entrance.

    "Come on Rado, it's time for action."

    If Rado doesn't respond Vassikyn gives him a gentle shove and repeats himself a little louder.

    Teene sits up and dusts herself off as the wolf starts to explain its intentions. Even as she listens, she seems to be skeptical about the Wolf's sudden appearance and quick conversation. Taking a step forward, she comes into open view.

    "What makes you an honorable source of information? I didn't expect anyone to come help us on our mission, but here you are. Why should be trust you? Your brethren may be waiting outside for us to expose ourselves."

    Even as she explains her curtness, she tries to remember is she has any recollection about the identity of this being.

    Still sitting at the side of the entrance, Anoush just listened to the ongoing conversation. He has some questions in mind, but thought that the visitor's response to his two companions will suffice for now. Instead, he tries to recognize if the beastly appearance is somehow a facade--for all Anoush knows, it might even be some celestial or demonic being.

    The wolf appears to Teene as a winter wolf, but she has not heard of one that can speak. Clearly this one can speak and understand the common tongue.

    Anoush does not believe that the wolf is a veiled being.

    "Time does not allow me to explain what is happening. You must hurry on your errand, and not be delayed." The wolf hurries off into the sleet and is quickly lost from sight.

I say we should take his advice to get ahead of our pursuers while he stalls for us." Teene moves over to ready her horse for travel again, but remains unmounted. "There's something that bothered me about what the wolf said. He said that that 'they will still come for you'. I believe that the ones who are chasing us are strong, numerous, or both." She then looks towards the cave opening, ready to move.

    You go ahead in the sleet, leading the mounts and going slowly. You hear the frantic hunting horns of one of the groups of enemies chasing you, and the howl of the wolves. It seems that they have kept their promise, and the two groups are fighting. Hopefully his will gain you some much needed time. The sleet seems to be lightening slightly, and you are regaining some visibility.

    In the present situation, Anoush thought it was better to watch out for any pursuers than leading ahead to scout. He maintains his position at the back of the group, trying his best to keep up with the base but keeping his senses keen as well. He employs the same arcane and mundane techniques he used before to scan the rear side of their formation.

    As you continue the march on, a rain of arrows flies into the group. Most of them miss, and scare the untrained horses, however everyone is hit by at least one arrow. You cannot see where they are fired from, but they are coming from somewhere ahead of you.

    Anoush is hit by 2 arrows, taking 10 damage (after DR)
    Joan is hit by 3 arrows, taking 20 damage
    Vassikyn is hit by one arrow, taking 6 damage
    Teene is hit by one arrow, taking 8 damage
    Heilan is hit by three arrows, taking 17 damage

    Arrows rained in their direction, catching some of the mounts off-guard. For a brief moment, Anoush lost control as the horse reared out of fear.
    Just when I thought it's better to guard our backs for a change... What a cruel joke.

    After recomposing the mount's stance, Anoush prepares a counter-attack of his own.

    "Watch our back for now", he whispered to his owl.

    (wolves rolled very well, so what was going to be a battle turns out to be a cinematic).

    A small group of gnolls with bows comes out of the sleety rain as visibility continues to improve. Their leader is a large gnoll with human-sized skulls on a rope around his neck. Anoush looses an eldritch blast, Teene bursts a massive fireball among their ranks, Vassikyan and Hellian cut down warriors in the front ranks.

    A massive howl can be heard that chills your spine. From the woods on either side of you, huge white wolves pour out, biting and clawing at the gnolls. Their leader, the one that met you in the cave, leaps on the large gnoll with human skulls decorating him. The other wolves, a dozen, trip and rip out throats, quickly destroying the harrying force that was set in front of you. The wolf stares into the eyes of the gnoll it is holding down, and growls.

    "We did not sense these until it was too late. Forces of evil have a taint, and something is masking it. Who do you work for, dog-blood?"

    The gnoll doesn't speak.

    Vassikyn dismounts Yssa, and advances to the gnoll. He lowers his blade under the creatures chin. Yssa menaces the gnoll as well.

    "You know, when I was in the Underdark, at one point I was captured by Drow forces. They have very effective torture methods. Before that, I was a gang member, and had to know the language of the street. Perhaps I should try some of those methods out on you, gnoll. I might be out of practice, but hey, what does that matter, your our captive now."

    Vass doesn't actually intend to torture the gnoll. He's just trying to scare the information out of him.

    Edit: Yssa succeeded, so that gives Vass a +2 bonus to his roll.
