Liam
Liam cuts through the goblin's bound and once he his finished, he points toward the way they came from and says :
"You're free, go... NOW!"
Once the goblin is gone, he turns towards Lastuce and says :
"Shall we proceed? After you!"
Liam then follows the dwarf, still on guard for any ambush or traps.

Looking at the goblin, the elf translate Liam message, adding a simple reminder to the goblin to respect his words and make sure his goblin friends let us alone.
"Alright, Let's go."

Re: [4E] Tornado Valley - (IC)
DM
Spiders are dead, the treasure is split equally and the goblin is set free… You are ready to continue your perilous journey to the underground river. Lastuce leads you through tunnels more and more dark, low and dismal… Sometimes, the biggest of you are struggling to pass in the cliffs. The sound of the river becomes louder and it is almost impossible to hear somebody talking…
After an hour travelling from the room where there were spiders… you finally get to see the famous river that you are hearing for almost an hour and a half… As you get up and see that magnificent river of clear water with a stream of the more powerful, enlightened by a natural skylight, this is what allows vegetation to grow even if it’s a inappropriate place for plants…
You spot three goblins are watching you, well hidden in a pile of rock on the other side of the river…
Lastuce, pointing at the tree of life says: "This is where the plants grow. We now have to cross the river and swimming is not an option with this powerful stream."
TEST
SpoilerThe journey have been onerous, do an "Endurance Check" at DC15 not to lose a "healing surge".

Re: [4E] Tornado Valley - (IC)
Titan
Titan notices the three goblins watching them as the plants and tree come in their sights. Following Lastuce's remark, he asks:
"Where and how should we cross then? How deep is the river?"
Then looking at the surroundings he notices a narrower spot in the river close to the plants (C-17 to A-19) and pointing at it he mentions:
I could probably jump across the river at that spot, with a rope attached to me. If I cross, you can use the rope to cross as well. If I fall, you can pull me back in. Not matter what, I won't drown. What do you all think?"
finally, looking at the goblins:
"We should however be mindful of those goblins. Birel, I know we can barely hear each other, but do you want to try and communicate with them?"

Birel
Seeing the goblin, Birel sigh. While he would like nothing more to make them a rude gesture and shoot arrows in their skull, the elf yell in goblin,
"Jok ther mour thig teug nor jil thyr. Buir mec ther vol nuar."
Looking at the river, Birel knows he also can jump across if need be.
"If you prefer, I can jump across myself."
SpoilerThe DC to jump across where it is only 2 squares wide is 10 (with a running start)... I have +7.... that is relatively easy for me.
Also, I used 1 surge to heal myself during the short rest.
I lost a surge with the endruance check.

Re: [4E] Tornado Valley - (IC)
Titan
Attaching his rope to himself and giving the other end to Birel, Titan moves closer to the edge of the river, staying about 10 feet away from it. He looks at the goblins, points at himself, points towards them and makes a negative left to right motion with his head and hand. He then points at himself again, points towards the plants and makes a up and down motion with his head and hand to signal he his not interested in the goblins but in the plants.
He then makes a quick run and leaps across the river in one bounce.
"Here we go"
SpoilerI will start my run at E15, jump at C17 and land at -A20.

Titan
Seeing the goblins smile, Titan bows to them to acknowledge their amusement.
Titan tries to speak to his friends, but after a few words he realizes they can't hear him with the sound of the river.
He then gestures to them if he should drop the rope for them to do the same and jump or should he secure it to a nearby rock?Last edited by Tata; 2012-09-05 at 09:22 AM.

Re: [4E] Tornado Valley - (IC)
Titan
Titan also tries to look at the various plants quickly to see if he could spot one with ghostlike petals, like Liam at first described it. Supposedly, it was easy to recognized. Thinking to himself, maybe he could grab it himself and try to come back without having the others jump since it will be hard to jump back from this slippery side.
Titan points to his friends to wait, secures the rope to a rock and then quickly looks for the plant.

Re: [4E] Tornado Valley - (IC)
Liam
Keeping an eye on the goblin, Liam is surprise to see Titan almost fall in the river. Boy would he have been a pain to pull out. Seeing his behemoth friend slip and slide in the midst of all kind of plant and fearing that this one will crush the one they are after, he decides to jump across.
The 2 of them can defend themselves well enough against the golbin, should it come to that. and it will go faster to look for the plant with 2 pair of eyes.
Making a beeline for the narrow part of the river, Liam jump across easily and slides sideways on the other side, keeping his balance and making all efforts not to crush any flowers. He then proceeds to look for the daisy and thinks he found something.

Wyndiam
Without any hesitation the genassi starts running toward the river in the path of his friends hoping to make it across the river.
For you Liam!!!
Having over calculated the power of his trust he makes it way over the other side and fall painfully on the slippery ground. Getting back up and trying to locate the plant while having half of his face covered in mud.
Titan, Liam, I can't find it, what does it look like again? Also have you noticed if our little goblin friend is with the three over there? I'm might have to unleash my wrath upon him if he is.

Liam is shocked to see Birel fall in, even with the rope dangling. Liam is frozen in surprise as Birel fall down the current and ends up in the goblin's net.
Seeing his friend being somewhat safe, Liam shake off the surprise and move towards Wyndiam. He stops when he see the goblin signal.
He whisper to wyndiam after the goblin comment :
"Give them the orb of illusion we found in the woods, it is powerfull enough to awe them, and probably worth more than what else we carry. Birel's life is top priority."

Liam moves a little closer, the mention of the orb makes Goblins smile... Apparently, the offer seems fair. But with Birel’s attitude, Goblin releases the fillet…
Goblins seem nervous facing you and start running in north corridor… Birel is again carried away by the current, but managed to hang on to the net and does not disappear into the cave’s darkness…
Lastuce immediately begins running to help Birel...

Re: [4E] Tornado Valley - (IC)
Liam
Liam gets ready to blast Titan with a series of curses when he notices that the rope is too short to reach Birel effectivly. Facepalming himself for his moment of stupidity, he looks down at the twisted rope around his leg...
"Moving with this around my leg is a sure way to get me in the water... "
He loosen the rope and slide free of the twist, then head towards the rubbles, coordinating his moves with Titan, to give some slack to Birel. The rubbles should help with balance when the pulling starts anyway.

Titan
Titan follows Liam to the rubble, holding the rope with one hand and using his other hand to stabilize himself on the rocky wall of the cavern because of the slippery floor.
SpoilerLiam is way more agile then Titan, so if Titan feels he cannot keep up with Liam because that means he would fall, he'd rather let the rope go and be more cautious then risking having a second person in the water.
If that's the case, when he lets go of the rope he tells Liam:
"Keep going, I'm slowing you down. I'll catch up and be there when you need to pull."Last edited by Tata; 2012-09-07 at 07:14 AM.

Re: [4E] Tornado Valley - (IC)
Wyndiam
Slowly moving through the rumbles and focussing on getting as close as he can of the elf, the genassi is now within reach oh his friend. Wyndiam hold the rope tight in case he would fall in the river also.
Spoiler
Standard/Move : Move to -C6, slowing down whil passing through the narrow passage.
Minor : While still holding a portion of the rope, throw it at Birel (if I can't do it as a minor I'll tied a loop in the end of the rope to make it easier for Birel to catch it, and throw it next round.)
Athletic check to throw the rope : (1d20+4)[21]
(Thievery to tie the loop : (1d20+3)[13])
Interrupt : Can I use my Arcane Anchor if Birel gets taken by the river (to keep him there for one round? It's negate a push, pull, slide effect.)
