Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
I wanted a new avatar for this forum, and actually decided to try doing one myself.
It's supposed to be something akin to a sea vrykul skald. Sea vrykul are an aquatic version of goliath-like race from Warcraft universe. The conch he's holding is supposed to be his underwater instrument.
Would like feedback if the result looks anything like what I described, and general feedback on his proportions and stuff (i.e. "too short arms", "doesn't look tall enough", etc.).

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
The usage of the term kvaldir to all sea vrykul could be disputed, but pretty much that's them.
Thought the legs might be too short, though I was already barely fitting in a standard avatar size, and the head is the size advised from one of the tutorials here. Of course, I will see what I can do about those points.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
I decided the problem was the body being too long. Shortening it allowed me to make legs longer and the head looks bigger without any changes. So, how is it now?

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
@ Thrax: Your avatar looks much better with the smaller body. You could try making it a bit slimmer – kvaldir are usually tall and right now your avatar looks a bit like a green dwarf.
@asdflove: I'd make the backpack a slightly different shade to separate it a bit from her dress. Also, something bugs me about the hair, but I can't put my finger on it...

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
Yes, they're elves. What is weird about the ears? They are supposed to be larger than in the comic – my elves simply have larger ears, only slightly smaller than the blood elves in World of Warcraft.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
Hi! First post on these forums in a while, had to make a new account and everything. I started work on a fan comic I've had buzzing around in my head for a while now. Here's a spread of different emotes of my character Cade Ciyazena, one of the mains. Critique more than welcomed!

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
I've been getting a lot of requests recently, so here are two I made yesterday. And yes, I know, the second one does seem on the tall side. Too long of a toro.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
Yes indeed, and while it's not quite as apparent on Cade here, their bodies are also more triangular than the typical rectangle bodies in Mr. Burlew's style.
Thank you kindly! And yes, I did try to deviate from Mr. Burlew just a tad. Any time I tried to mimic his simplicity, the characters always turned out looking too blocky and nowhere near the style I wanted. So I made a few tweaks and here we are lol. I'll be posting a couple more character spreads, one of them being my kobold character. Is this where I type out a signature?

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
Just wanted to try my hand at OotS artwork. I plan to start off a small fan comic called Tales of the 4th Edition (although I hope that title or somesuch hasn't already been used), although I'm not sure how exactly. It would be my first attempt ever.
Anyway, here it is.
Spoiler
The party from left to right:
Keyleth, Elf Avenger
Drake, Human Rogue
Vale, Human Sorcerer
Naivara, Eladrin Warlord
Gauthak, Goliath Warden
Still working on backstories and plot and such. Any tips on how to better draw would be welcome.Impurity shall be our armour
Hate shall be our weapon
Immortality shall be our reward

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
My latest efforts - behold Anika, cleric of Desna (Pathfinder). Attempting to make an OotS version(right) of my friend's new cleric, based off her avatar (left). The original has a sword, but my friend's character actually uses a morningstar.
I tried for a slightly dynamic pose - but I don't know what to do about the little armour half-skirt, it still looks a bit strange to me.
