Idea: TF2 Campaign

Team Fortress 2 is a team-based, class-based multiplayer FPS with a cartoon aesthetic and a sick sense of humour. It isn't particularly elaborate, beautiful, or innovative; but it is free and fun. One can spend money on things like weapons and vanity items, but paying money is optional, and one can compete perfectly well and access most of the content without spending a penny.

From this point on, am assuming you posses basic familiarity with the game, its concept, and its characters. If you do not, watch the Meet the Team videos, and give the game a spin.

A Team Fortress 2 campaign would be very hard to pull off correctly, because of the nine distinct and equally important classes, and the non-linear nature of the plot. If there were to be a campaign, I believe that it should be relatively brief (maybe two or three hours) and released as a $5 DLC. Perhaps there could be multiple campaigns, each sold independently. Maybe a campaign for each class ...

Perhaps a campaign could be multi-player co-op, and feature up to nine players, only one of each class. They could break into a building or something, gunning down mooks and using their unique skills. Think Team Fortress Arcade.

If a campaign is ever released, I will buy it.

i always thought of a Crysis+Tf2.

I'd love to see a sort of tongue and cheek adventure where they battle through various places (which are essentially fancier maps with more scenery and some npcs) to fulfill an overarching plot :d
