A man swathed in leathers and furs walks into the bar. He procures a mug of ale and sits at the bar. When you ask who he is, he says in a low voice,

Who am I? No one of note, but you may remember my father. He set up a business in a town, quite far from here, across the ocean. He simply wanted to cut people's hair. But I guess he had a secret. He was "one of them"... a God-cursed werewolf. And the towns people killed him for it. Now, normally, I'd say 'good riddance' and be on my way. Hell, I've killed my share of the beasts. But this one's different. This one was family. Some of those people are here, in this town. I've traveled halfway around the world to... settle some of my father's affairs.

You wanted to know my name? You can call me Hugh. Hugh Mann... Junior.

The Village of Vilcas!
The frost on the mountain pass to the north is getting worse as the seasons turn colder. So it's a surprise when the small green-haired traveler appears down the road, pack carried high and a story on her lips. Probably the last traveler of the season.

The streets are still suspicious from the discovered carcass. Rumors still buzz of werewolves, and the traveler gets more than a few suspicious glances as she arrives in the town's inn located right next to the town square.

After a night of storytelling and drinking from the tiny figure she tells how she plans to leave through the pass again in the morning before the snow gets much worse, carry the stories of werewolves with her. With that she heads up to her room.

The morning comes, and she does not leave.

For strewn about the town square is the battered corpse of the poor wanderer. She tried to run, but little legs cannot beat paws, as you see from the print still encrusted in her blood. The traveler will wander no more. The town is trapped.

You know you have to do something today.

Gnomish Wanderer was killed! She was the bard!

Hugh Junior finishes his second mug of carpet cleaner then woozily looks around the room. He fishes out a scrap of parchment from his hip pouch, reads it, then scans the room again. Julian84 was there, when his father was killed. He'd be a good place to start.

And for those allergic to citrus, it was a death sentence if you were dying of thirst.
But Lorne Lyndon Lauren Leo Lennox Lowell Lockwood, Esquire, was not so easily killed. He always brought his own drinks and tipped the bartender. And that night, Lorne was in the corner sipping a glass of pineapple juice while reading the newspaper, the best way to observe happenings in the town.

Oh, and as you can see... He sometimes hates his parents.

It was happening all over again. The wolves were here too. They had all but taken over at Swarok, and the Disciple and his brethren had fled before the city could be consumed, either by the wolves or by the corruption. The members of his order had scattered to try and cull this wave of murder before it could spread further.

He'd tracked down one of the other survivors of Swarok to here, a gnomish bard. By the time he arrived, it was too late... The gnome was dead, and the people had already begun to suspect each other. As he sat in the bar clutching the holy symbol of his order, the Disciple scanned the crowd as the argument heated up. Who would be the one to cast the first stone? Who would be the first to accuse their neighbor?

It was the one called Julian.

The Disciple wouldn't exactly call it evidence of treachery. In times like these, ones fears would cloud one's judgement. But he had to start somewhere...

Rul made his way carefully through the courtyard. Was this really happening? Pausing by the bloody paw print, he let out a gasp. It must be.

Feeling queasy, he made his way to the Inn. The air already felt colder, Elemental. Maybe he would discover more about this new danger at the Inn.
