Re: Classic Werewolf: The Village of Vilcas
"Pitchforks! Shiny pitchforks! Get them while they're still hot!" Blacksmith Luigi loved these times. All this panic reminds him of the good old times, when the wild was still wild and the men still manly. Nowadays... It's just too peaceful. Nothing says good sales like unknown dangers and bloody killings. "Special offer! Free torch with every pitchfork! Only today! Don't miss this perfect chance to get your pointy metal!"

Re: Classic Werewolf: The Village of Vilcas
Day 1 End!No one was killed!
It was official, the pass had closed today from an unexpected snow storm. The village really was cut off. And with the news that their home suddenly seemed a trap, tensions began to rise.
The villagers spent much of the day in debate, mobs seeming to form only to be dissipated through mutual suspicion. No one really seemed to take the lead, and no one seemed to be more a wolf than anyone else.
It was with heavy hearts the villagers relinquished the day to the setting sun, praying that the werewolves do not make prey of one in their homes, their families. Only daybreak will see who survived.

Re: Classic Werewolf: The Village of Vilcas
Yes, I think they are long enough. Perhaps we could keep an open mind for later in the game if it gets hectic so that we could maybe extend a day phase in order to continue conversing and what not if in deed we need more discussion time. I've been in a couple of games where there is a lot of day action and it gets cut short, so maybe we can have occasional extensions if needed.

Re: Classic Werewolf: The Village of Vilcas
Correct me if I'm wrong but we basically gave the wolves a free kill? Probably shouldn't let that happen again.

Re: Classic Werewolf: The Village of Vilcas
No. The wolves get to kill on night one either way no matter what we do.
What we forgoed is a chance of hurting the wolves by killing one in exchange for not having a chance of helping the wolves by inadvertently killing a villager.
48 and 24 are fine timewise Gnomish.

Re: Classic Werewolf: The Village of Vilcas
I know. What I mean is that since we gave up our day one kill, we effectively gave them a "free" extra kill, since we won't have our first lynch until day 2 instead of day 1.
But yeah as Julian says, not that big a deal, especially since its a day one randakill anyway.
48/24 is fine.Last edited by inky13112; 2012-08-18 at 07:29 PM.

Re: Classic Werewolf: The Village of Vilcas
Yes, they're long enough.
I do think that a first-day lynch is a good thing for the village, because of arguments that have been mentioned many times in many threads (mainly 'information'). But nothing for it now.

Re: Classic Werewolf: The Village of Vilcas
Night 1 End!Rules Lawyer #1 was killed! He was a Mason!
A cold wind swept through the valley, no doubt preceding the storm that would be quick to follow. The night was spent huddled in houses, windows locked tight, some holding weapons hoping to hold the wolves at bay if they were to attack.
But not everyone had stayed home and stayed safe.
Footsteps were made lightly as the man in the red cloak hurried along his way, clutching a heavy book whose leather-bound surface was older than the village itself.
It was the Rulebook to Hunting Werewolves, a very important piece of history that was thought fiction. He had to present this to his brethren, to meet with them to discuss what had been going on, what the rules say they should do.
But he froze at the sound of the snarl in the woods ahead.
The man took off running, letting his cloak fall but holding the book firm, but stumbled and fell when he saw the other large wolf before him.
"You can't eat me yet, it's not a full moon!" He cried, pointing at the cloudy sky. "You can't, it's not in the rule-"

Re: Classic Werewolf: The Village of Vilcas
Julian would have to wait. In fact, the man squinted across the sunlit center of town, it might not have been the same person. TigerFang, on the other hand, was strangely silent after the murder of the Bard, when the rest of the town was out for blood.
Shots rang out, as shots are wont to do.

I suspect we might get some benefit out of questioning Grue Bait. If anything, we could at least save ourselves from at least one other nasty threat.

Re: Classic Werewolf: The Village of Vilcas
I know what you mean. Nothing to base a vote on, so my mind wanders to those I usually find suspicious.
But the problem is, some of them are good players who I want alive in case they're town.
I hope you don't object to me pointing at you out of lack of inspiration?
I'll change it later when events transpire.

Lorne Lyndon Lauren Etc, esquire had not had a good day.
First he had gone for a walk around town.
So far so good.
Then he went to the library and checked out a book on deadly toxins.
Also good.
For lunch, he stopped at the bakery and purchased a pie.
Quite delicious.
After lunch, he decided to stock up on some food.
