Toluene would probably vary from hero to neutral, depending what goes on. She doesn't like evil, that's solid, but she's not terribly prone to going out of her way to help others. On the other hand, she is insane. We will just see where character development takes us...

I linked to the fics in my opening post. Or... indirectly at least. The Fallout Equestria wiki main page has links to the main Fallout Equestria fic as well as the major spinoffs.

    Unaffiliated griffon mercenary?

Any particular reason she doesn't fly with the Talons?

    Also also!

Pretty much anyone can 'GM' for various quests and adventures and so forth if they so desire. Some people tend to gravitate more to GMing than others (myself for example), but that doesn't mean other people can't pick things up as well.

I also tend to naturally prefer GMing to being a PC, so I may end up creating some more narrative scenes that involve others, and perhaps even storytell a few side missions if need/desire be. At the very least, I don't mind puppetmastering NPCs for others, for that extra bit of randomness, realism, and less feelings of talking to yourself when your character is interacting with NPCs. XD

While it's possible to get away with some things under certain circumstances, foal-rape just ain't gonna fly in any form or fashion. Even implying it will cross too many lines, and most players report you and/or quit the game in disgust.

I would rather Curtain-related activities be kept off-screen. There's nothing wrong with romance and relationships and character development and the like but flank-spanking really doesn't need to be expounded upon on screen at all.

By the same token be careful with extremes of graphic violence as well.

Raiders already do all the forum unfriendly activities. They probably even argue about religion and politics. So just practice discernment with what you write.

I once GMed an Elder Scrolls/Bioshock crossover. For 9 months. At one point, IIRC, we had 13 active players.

Given that I'm simply having trouble coming up with a PC idea that really sings to me, I think you should toss my name into the GM bucket as well.

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly

And I'm afraid my character would not be good company for yours. Lucky is out for vengeance, and there will probably be more than a bit of bloodshed before all is said and done. While he would not be opposed to traveling with her or taking care of her.... it'd probably not be in her best interest.

    Name: Gwendolyn Beak

    Race: Griffon

Virtue: To be discovered really, the Wastelands can make ya lose sight of your virtue after all.

Appearance: She's a tall strong weathered griffon with eyes who have seen and lost too much. Her bottom half is of a light orange-brown shade, her head feathers a standard white with grey tips at the end, both eyes sporting light purple colored circles around them. She seemed to be a perpetual angry-frowner and smiles rarely. The stoic with a sadness in them. She wears a chest plate armor piece.

Faction: None, solo mercenary for her own reasons, mostly bodyguard work.

Skills: Two clawed (handed) guns, particularly sniper rifles. Claw to claw combat is thing. Essentially combat and survival are what she is skilled in. Useful tools for a solo mercenary along with a bit of medical knowledge. Self sufficient would be a word to describe her.

Equipment: A sniper rifle slung on and over her back, a double barrel shot gun slung on her back, and her beloved, The Splitter, a .44 magnum. Food rations and some water, caps, various small tools, medical supplies, and a haphazardly made necklace made of bottle caps, don't touch.

Personality: She comes off as fierce and be be quite so. She is a protector and has chosen being a bodyguard for personal reasons. There seems to be a motherly tenderness that shows up from time to time though rare. One thing about her is that she does not charge for her services, but, only she chooses who she will protect.

Well, Heimdalr is a Talon mercenary as mentioned before. Encountering a Pegasus filly would be most likely if:
    A) She were currently in Shatteredhoof
    B) She is traveling with whoever Heimdalr and his Wing are contracted to protect
    or
    C) She runs across him totally at random.

Heimdalr would be pretty concerned about a filly wandering around alone in the Wastes. He would probably try to shuttle her off to a relatively safe city when the opportunity arises.

Hmm... Speaking of Heimdalr's Wing I should probably do at least a partial writeup for the other two griffons...

He would begrudgingly put up with her, but there's no way she can convince him to abandon his vengeance. The broke his wings so he couldn't escape, beat him to the brink of unconsciousness, shot him in the face, and then lit him on fire. One does not simply forgive and forget such transgressions.

    Hmm...

It would seem we've got a pretty solid level of interest at this point. It might be time to make an actual IC thread here pretty soon!

But before I do that I want to talk plots.

We've got a pretty wide cross-section of characters here. A chemist, an explosives expert, a merc/medic, a body guard, a lucky delivery pony, an ex-Steel Ranger, a random wandering filly...

How do we bring these characters together?

Or for that matter DO we want to bring them together?

Who said anything about bringing them together?

I think small groups would be best. Forcing everyone into one big group would be clunky and ham-fisted. I think it may be best if everyone just starts out on their own, and see who ends up grouping together. We may have 2-3 characters in one group, 4 in the other, or a lone timberwolf or two.

As for plots... I dunno, I figured we'd just sandbox it. Lucky is just looking for who "killed" him, and then he's gonna head back to New Pegasus. Granted, that's all easier said than done...

He'll probably end up grouping with Gwendolyn.

I don't plan at this point: My character just doesn't have enough to plan with.

I am willing to run random things, or small events, but I haven't really tried plots yet. I'm especially willing to run things in Everfree forest, since that's kind of my character's base.

In any case, I just vote for letting things develop naturally.

This is just a matter of organization, but......it would be nice if the first post could be nicely organized to include the information you provided in *scattered" posts, including the map you marked, races, areas and their description, a character directory linking to posts with the player's PCs profile, etc stuff like that.

To toot my own horn and use an example, like this.

A nice organized FFRP of all things, is a nice thing.

Whelp, might as well get this posted.

    Name: Salt Pick

    Race: Earth Pony

Cutie Mark: Three rocks. If one were to look closer, you'd see that they are rock salt. He's always been skilled at finding salts.

Virtue: Harmonious Kindness. Even at his worst, his virtue was kindness. Of course, that meant mooching off the kindness of strangers. He now feels the need to make up for it.

Appearance: A thin, Maroon pony, who still vaguely resembles a junkie. His black mane and tail are both very short, and very ragged, as if he cut them himself with a shard of glass.

Faction: Salt considers himself a card carrying member of 'The Followers of the Pink Angel' and will preach for hours to anyone who wants to hear and even to those who don't.

Skills: 1) Mining 2) Evoking Pity (Persuasion) 3) Melee combat 4) Preaching 5) Petty Theft

Equipment: An old Miner's saddle, with the sort of equipment you'd expect to find. Helmet, light, pickaxe (With a curious red stain on the end...), medium sized lumps of unrefined salt, some small pieces of refined salt, some Rad Away and a few loose caps. The only two unusual things in his pack are a small glass shiv and a small necklace shaped vaguely like a pink pair of wings.

    Backstory:
    Spoiler
    Show
Salt Pick's story isn't that unusual for the Wasteland. A miner born and raised, his job was scouting out perspective mining sites. Eventually, he found that taking salt was just as fun as finding it, and soon he was homeless, capless, and two steps away from being stabbed and robbed.
He resolved to end his own sorry life (And prevent his junkie 'buddies' from getting his stuff) and set out into the desert to kill himself. After wandering aimlessly for a few hours, he eventually found a spot, and sat down to die when a funny thing happened. An old mare sat next to him and began to ramble. At first, Salt thought she was just another junkie, but he began to listen to her story.
The mare told him that the world was a sinful place, and had been for a long time, and there was very little goodness left in it. Yet, there was hope. The Pink Angel. The pink angel appeared as foal on a quest, and where ever she went she brought goodness back into the world. Salt Pick sat, memorized by the mare's words.
After the mare finished speaking, long into the night and the next morning, she laid down and died. Salt Pick buried her right there, only taking her necklace. He then set out into the wasteland, a new hope and purpose in his life.

Do I not exist or something? Because I sure don't see "loveable rogue" anywhere.

Basically, I don't see anything that could refer to Night Jewel in your little list. I feel kind of miffed.

Default Re: [FO:E] FallOut Equestria Interest and Possible First OOC Thread

Background for Lamianos (Hope this helps make things make more sense. I put a bit of effort behind it, but I'm still willing to move onto the earth pony idea instead. Sorry for random asterisks, that's what happens when I transfer from IPod Notepad to Gitp, dunno why):

Lamianos was born within the Steel Rangers. His mother a Unicorn researcher and his father a Earth Pony Knight. Lamianos was born a Unicorn and took to his mothers research on the ancient pre war society and the technological and arcane treasures it had. His brother Ducard on the other hand was a Earth Pony and went into Knighthood, hoping to one day become a Paladin of his own squad. They were as close as brothers could be, but when the day came that Ducard would become a knight they knew they would have to go their separate ways for the time being. Lost without his brother Lamianos threw himself into his studies, he had yet to get his cutie mark despite his skill at the art of beguiling, and began to fear the worst. But one day, while Lamianos was mulling through the books and tomes he had at his disposal, he stopped and stated at a single book with a magical fire picture illustrated on the front. The book was a directory guide of the several schools of magic, nothing all too new to Lamianos (Aside from the occasional fact or spell that popped up). Yet there was something very odd in the book. Lamianos checked it several times over before finally assuring himself the book was indeed real. For most of Lamianos' life he had only known of 7 schools of magic, yet the book spoke of eight.

Flipping forward he read the summary of the eighth school of magic; Necromancy. It read: "Necromancy is one of the darkest arts to be performed in this book. It is a powerful force that drains life, crushes souls, and defies the laws of nature. As of such it is heavily frowned upon and deemed illegal without permission to wield it. Still, there are those out there who lust for power and thus delve into the practice. Despite the grim implications Necromancy is not inherently evil and can be utilized for good, but I recommend only the strongest of will attempt this school of magic, lest they find themselves engulfed by power."

This school of magic fascinated Lamianos, the power behind it tempted and taunted him. He had always erred to caution, but the tale that the book told was far too appealing to simply let it be. Besides, who could doubt Lamianos' will? None could, and he was certain he could keep the magic in check. Thus, he begun his practicing, at first they were simple spells, withering an apple and raising a rat from the dead. Yet they fed Lamianos' curiosity more then a dozen books could. He sought to delve deeper, beyond the simple spells the directory could teach him. He began a quest for knowledge with such fervor that he had finally earned his cutie mark, one of a skull with putrid bale fire pouring out of it, a sign of what he could unlock with only a few more books. The hunt was hard, as the subject was scarce enough, and he would often have to hunt down scraps of technology along the way to justify his expeditions. But it was most definitely worth it. He soon became more adept at the art, and soon he had a nice collection of articles and books on the matter. Soon enough he was experimenting on the interaction between the school of Necromancy and the other schools, in particular the school of Beguiling, his second greatest school. He began to let the power go to his head, delusions of grandeur began to form under the surface. He began to think that he could fully restore life in Equestria with a powerful enough Necromancy spell (As his research showed that one can transfer life from one source to another). Of course this would require the deaths of many many creatures, but was not the restoration of his home was worth far more then the lives of Raider scum? Still, he did not know enough on the matter to even begin thinking of setting that plan in motion. No, he needed more.

But "more" was not something someone just gets in the Equestrian Wasteland. And on one faithful mission he was ambushed and nearly killed by several raiders while hunting down a lead on another scrap of tech or knowledge. They left him beaten and bloodied, clinging to life as he dragged himself back to his home. There he rested, treating his wounds as his brother Ducard swung to him in his time of need. In this time Ducard had already gone above and beyond his dreams and had become a Senior paladin. Lying there, battered and torn Lamianos begged his brother to teach him how to defend himself and to give him the tools to do so while he goes out. Ducard was pitted between a rock and a hard place. Lamianos was supposed to be a non combatant, but he was his brother, and he lied I front of him a bloodied mess practically begging as he cringed in pain. Ducard tried to convince his brother to allow knights to accompany him, but he exclaimed that they would be loud, slow, and simply make the trips more dangerous. He could rely on himself knowing the landscape of his locations better since he scouted them out and did research in advance. Ducard, with a heavy sigh, submitted to his brother.

As a Senior Paladin there are many things one can get away with, one of said things is "alleviating" some extra power armor that was collecting dust and making sure no one missed it. Before hand Ducard warned Lamianos that if he wanted to do this he could only do this in secret and could only adorn the power armor on his excavations and only after he had already left the premises. If he were to be discovered then Ducard would have to say that Lamianos stole the power armor himself and would promptly have to take it back, most likely with excessive force. Still, Lamianos understood the consequences and avidly awaited his training. Ducard had found a set of power armor built for a smaller size of Earth Pony, so as too more easily fit Lamianos (As the normal kind would be far too big). From their he cut out a hole in the top of the helmet to slide Lamianos horn through. Having never spent much time in it he felt rather clunky and wierd, but Ducard ran him through the exercises he gave to his initiates and lesser knights, having Lamianos run, lift weights, and traverse difficult terrain in order to get used to the armor. After a month of doing so on again off again (As the time they had wasn't a lot as they did the training in secret) Ducard deemed Lamianos ready to train with weapons and get affiliated with the armors software. He started with the software, as that was easier to conceal then live ammunition. He tinkered around with the S.A.T.S and the E.F.S. He didn't spend too much time with the medical aspect as it was rather straight forward, and instead Lamianos gravitated towards the PipBuck like mechanics, the arcane technology peaking his interest as he tested the device out. The time he spent with the suit of armor got him more and more interested in uncovering technology and he soon began to do great research in both the arcane and the technological.

With Lamianos comfortable in his suit of armor Ducard finally found it time to train him to shoot a gun and to fight in general. This part Lamianos took great interest in, the power and strength behind combat riled up his blood and got him excited and ecstatic. Ducard took them far far away from their contingent in order to practice fighting, there they tested to see what weapons he was most comfortable with and sparred between Ducard and Lamianos (Ducard would win frequently, but Lamianos was a fast learner and would win here and there). Lamianos took affinity to heavy weapons and began testing with them until Ducard felt he was as prepared to shoot as one of his Knights was. Yet despite the success Lamianos had in shooting he was met with a lesser amount of it in close combat. Fighting his older, more experienced brother was grueling, and it often looked like he wasn't getting anywhere fast. Whether it was sheer determination or arrogance Lamianos continued to pound away and fight until his lack in natural strength was countered in sheer violence and tenacity. Appeased at what he had done, Ducard had finished his training with Lamianos and was certain he could be sent out into the wasteland prepared.

And he was right, for a very very long period of time Lamianos went in and out of the contingency and continued his cycle of secrecy in order to uncover lost technology and anything to do with Necromancy. Any raider he happened to fall upon quickly found themselves being practice for Lamianos' weapons and power armor. He kept like this, slowly treating the power armor like a second body to the point where he began to outfit it with spikes for use in the wasteland. However, despite the great protection the power armor and training had granted him it still could not protect him from the combination of Arcane power+Weapons training= thinking you're invincible against any threat. This formula was quickly debunked when Lamianos was ambushed by a group of highly skilled mercenaries on one of his expeditions into the wasteland. He was captured and knocked unconscious, stripped of his armor and dragged back to their employer. He awoke several days later, finding himself in a blank grey room, pain covering his whole body, and strange new feelings in places he hadn't had before. One of said places being two large batsings attached to his back and the fangs in the front of his mouth. Panicking he began to freak out, rapidly flapping his wings and trying his hardest to escape. Turning around he began to bang his hind legs into the steel door that blocked him from escape. He felt oddly stronger then he was before, feeling like he could finally take Ducard on now, but that thought quickly passed as a pony with a lab cost entered the room with a syringe in her mouth. Clearly a sedative to put.... Whatever it was that Lamianos had become down. He quickly jumped the scientist and began to brain him with his new pale white legs. Blood splattered across his body, strange new parts grafted onto him, and stuck in a foreign lab where he was most likely experimented on all culminated in Lamianos sprinting out as quickly as he could. The only time he stopped was at a box not too far away from the room he was in, he donned as much of his armor as he could while carrying the rest and took what little he had before leaving, gunning down whatever got in his path.

After finally making his escape he lied down on the dried wasteland sand and rested, trying to come to grips with the new form that he was cursed with. The most prominent feature outside of the new skin were the large batsings on his back. He experimented with them, trying to do quick bouts of flying as he tried to make his way back home. He got a bit of a grip on it, yet the way the wings worked made them better suited for soaring them for pick up and go flying like most birds. Eventually he modified the armor to allow his wings to slit through (and soon made a shoddy wing holster for him to tuck them away in). With his armor suited to his new form he was certain he could return it to his drop off spot and try to convince the Steel Rangers that he was still one of them. Yet as he approached his drop off site he found Ducard waiting there for him. Ducard told the steel rangers all of it, and even said that it was Lamianos who stole the armor and weapons as per his warning before hand. Lamianos was shocked, appalled that his brother would have ratted him out like this. Ducard simply replied that Lamianos was no longer his brother, he was some... Thing, and most importantly he had betrayed the trust of the Steel Rangers. Ducard had came to the drop off site to fulfill the last promise he made when he promised to teach Lamianos how to use power armor and fight, and that was to confiscate the power armor back with "Excessive" force, putting heavy emphasis on excessive. Lamianos got the message loud and clear, either Ducard was going to kill Lamianos and take the armor back, or Lamianos was going to kill Ducard and flee the scene.

They stared each other down, neither one sure which would make the first move. It was Ducard he charged himself forward at Lamianos, but he was one step ahead of the earth pony and had casted a spell that messed with his vision and caused everything he saw to look far more nightmarish. One glance at Lamianos and he felt a wave of fear wash over him as a terrible monster of darkness and violence stood I front of him, clad in pitch black steel with eyes of Sanguine. He trembled backwards, but soon shook off the hallucination and readied himself to continue the fight. That time was all he needed, when Ducard came back to reality he was met with a cold hard spike of steel penetrating his heart, tears rolling down the eyes of both him and his brother. Quietly, Lamianos said good bye to his brother, and retracted the spike from his brothers cheat, letting his lifeless corpse slide to the ground. Ever since Lamianos has been on the run, raiding for resources and trying to keep himself alive, hoping to one day start a army of his own to revive Equestria and better it's inhabitants. Because that is what Lamianos must do, because that is what Ducard would want him to do.
