[Nexus Alt-Plot] Nothing and Nightmares {Beans & C'nor}

Talina drinks a pair herself, and apparently decides she has enough spells ready, since she simply settles back to watch, nestled against Vo, once she has.

Nothing ends up happening! Yay!

((No. But Kasa's been busy recently, and it usually takes a bit anyway, so don't worry about it too much.))

If that was just for that watch, Talina heads back up to her room and crawls in with Nycca; otherwise, presumably, everyone but those on the last watch or two will be up, except maybe Nycca, and Talina is probably getting breakfast for all of them.

Nothing happens the whole night, so it's breakfast time!

Nycca is sitting where Vo's lap would be, seeming glad now that she knows the undead redhead is approximately as okay as one can be with only one arm that half-works.

[Lady Serpentine]

Naera is sitting with them, stroking Nycca's wings; Talina comes over with food and drinks for all four, sitting down next to Vo.

[Beans]

Nycca will eat, looking pretty happy.

Vo eats with some help; her arm's better than it was last night.

[Lady Serpentine]

Naera and Talina also eat, the Hunterkin helping Vo.

"How fast are you healing, anyway?"

[Beans]

Not too bad... I can move it, but my control is really sloppy.
She shrugs.

[Lady Serpentine]

Talina smiles, snuggling against her.

"Well, that's good, I suppose, considering it was detached a day ago... How exactly does the healing work?"

[Beans]

It runs on the energy from food that I eat.
Nycca helps her eat some more, as if to illustrate the point, nestling against Vo.

[Lady Serpentine]

Talina shakes her head, also helping Vo eat some more.

"I more meant 'how is no longer living flesh healing at all', actually..."

[Beans]

One of the perks of being a Sopholich; you don't get heaps of magic, but you can stay fresh and do repair work.

[Lady Serpentine]

"Honestly, not rotting and being able to put yourself back together sounds like a better deal than getting tons of magic anyway... What exactly is the difference between a Sopholich and a normal lich, though?"

[Beans]

Vo explains, the facts basically being that a Sopholich is basically the mad scientist's answer to the mage's Lich, and there are differecnes in the ceremony and ritual required (it involves a lot less dead babies or whatever).

[Lady Serpentine]

Talina smiles, nuzzling the Sopolich's neck.

"So basically, more science, less evil?"

[Beans]

Vo giggles a little, apparently ticklish.
Yeah, pretty much...

Nycca slips the redhead into Talina's lap with a cheeky grin.

[Lady Serpentine]

Talina grins back, hugging Vo from behind, and kissing her on the cheek.

"Why exactly did you choose to become one?"

((Sorry about vanishing; I had to run earlier, so I didn't have time to finish the post.))

It's... it's a complicated story.

"Complicated as in 'long' or complicated as in 'I'd prefer not to talk about it'?"

Meanwhile, Naera quietly excuses herself for a few minutes, heading off to her room.

[Beans]

Both, kind of... She nestles closer.

Nycca waves to her as she goes.

[Lady Serpentine]

Talina smiles, gently stroking Vo's stomach.

"I won't press you, then..."

True to her word, Naera returns after a short time, and resumes her seat behind Nycca.

[Beans]

Nycca smiles and goes to hug her; Vo blushes and giggles a little.

[Lady Serpentine]

Naera smiles back, returning the hug; Talina smiles as well, resting her head on Vo's shoulder.

Nycca and/or Vo may notice a small red splotch on Naera's left sleeve that wasn't there before the hug.

[Beans]

Nycca starts whispering how cute Vo looks with Talina... and notices the splotch.
You spill something on yourself, sweetie?

Vo sighs happily.

[Lady Serpentine]

Naera looks down at her arm, frowning slightly.

"Looks like it... Just a minute, I'll go change shirts."

As the Hunterkin gets up to do so, Nycca might notice that the splotch appears to be slowly seeping through the fabric from the inside.

[Beans]

She goes to grab her hand.
Okay, you're obviously hurt. Where'd it happen?

[Lady Serpentine]

"It's nothing, don't worry about it... I just need to wrap it and it'll be fine."

She tries to get her hand free and continue on her way, though she won't stop Nycca from following if successful.

[Beans]

Nycca follows, still worried.
Naera, hold on...

[Lady Serpentine]

Naera doesn't stop until they're both in her room - which is fairly neat, nothing really left out, save for her kindjal, a pair of scaddas, and a long, thin, knife with a small hole down the center of the blade, all on top of a dresser, her cloak, which is hanging on a peg in the wall, and some first aid supplies on the bedside table -, at which point she shuts the door behind them, and sits down on the bed, grabbing a small roll of bandages and pulling up her sleeve, which reveals a line of odd symbols carved into her left arm, the oldest no more than scars, and ranging to a few weeks before her capture, save for the newest, which seems to be from when she excused herself earlier.

((All of that is unless Nycca stops her, of course.))
