Up until three seconds ago, Spin was about to explode with fury towards Blitz.

But now all of that is forgotten, as she falls over behind the counter, laughing hysterically. "Oh wow! Hah hah! You... hee... You sure know how to pick 'em! Hahah!!"


Snickerfilly turns from Cadmium before she can answer her, and glares indignantly at Blitz. "Yeah, as a matter of fact, I am. I'm normally a rather handsome dude of a pegasus. Maybe if you stopped and got to know ponies before shamelessly flirting with them and making them feel awkward, you could avoid problems like this in the future?" she huffs.

[Beans]

[Greif's]
Template processes this new information, blinking.
... Wait, gender's a factor in flirting?
And I thought romance sounded really confusing before...
She sighs, sipping her coffee. Maybe this would make more sense if she had been a real pony and not a construct...

[Deme]

"...I don't get it either...If Snickers is good-looking either way...And that's why you're flirting I guess... I'm not sure why it matters, either..."

Foxglove doesn't get flirting in general, so she's a good counter-argument to that logic.

"...Flirt's kind of onomonopeiac-sounding, isn't it? Like it should make a flirting noise. Flirt, flirt, flirt."

She tries saying this and batting her eyelashes. At no one in particular, and seems...thoughtful about it when she's done.

Template tries to do this, but the effect is somewhat diminished by her rather short eyelashes... and the fact that she's really rather clueless as to what she's actually doing other than blinking rapidly like that other mare is.

Cadmium just watched the scene in an observant manner and found herself laughing a bit, it couldn't be helped.

Foxglove blinked back, in patterns that seemed increasingly meaningful and complex. She may have been blinking morse code, or some simmilar code she invented.
We can only assume she's having fun.

[Beans]

Template eyelash-bats back with patterns of her own.
This is incredibly silly and she may just be blinking in a random pattern.
But she looks so serious about it that it's a little endearing, watching her trade eyelash-bats with another mare (who happens to be occupying a dude-ish body at the moment) and not really knowing what's going on.

[Benson]

"Are you two starting up your own morse code?" Cadmium asked in amusement.

[Deme]

"...A distinct possibility."

Foxglove replied, finishing her last blink.

"Though I think I sort of found it, rather than starting it...Perhaps....But I don't know if I was understood, or if I understood...But does that make it not-language? Hmm..."

She mumbled, drifting her focus away from both Cadmium and Template.

Blitz could have caught flies with the way his mouth was gaping. These ponies... were weird. All too soon though the possible consequences caught up with him before he started speaking. "Umm, this whole gender swaping thing. It's not something that's going around is it? I mean it's not a witches curse or something right? What a minute...YOU DON'T HAVE WINGS!!!! OH GOD I CAN'T LOSE MY WINGS! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"

With that Blitz goes into the pony fetal position as he imagines life without his wings, and most importantly without being able to soar through the air at sub-sonic speeds.

"Actually my wings were borrowed by the dark cookie-god of the forbidden baking arts," Snickers deadpans. "Long story."

She then looks over at Cadmium and smiles innocently. "I'm sorry, where were we?"


Spin Top's eye is starting to twitch. Either from horror, or sheer frustration with Blitz. Or both.

Probably both.

"Actually my wings were borrowed by the dark cookie-god of the forbidden baking arts," Snickers deadpans. "Long story."

She then looks over at Cadmium and smiles innocently. "I'm sorry, where were we?"

"I'm not quite sure, you just told me you really a male and it sorta just splooshed over into that topic."

"I would think so, since, ya what was it? Just...recently...awaken? Some brouhaha like that?" The red mare tilted her head.

"...It's like .... dropping a waterballoon.... out of a buiding ...onto some concrete ... but instead of water.... it's conversation."

She gave it some thought, and found this an unsatisfying description of conversational splooshing.

"a lot of the conversation ends up dripping off or slinking down sidewalk cracks, into the earth...Where maybe, just maybe, it all reaches some sort of elder god who slumbereth beneath the soil. She is an elder volcano goddess, and she has a secret army of robots... When she finds me, it will be the end of me -- she knows what I know...Because of all the splooshing."

She reviews the above paragraph of text, delivered at a monotone that increased in tempo somewhere in the middle and almost began to relax...

"...Yes. that's exactly like what just happened...Is that OK?"

[Beans]

Template nods. "Oh, that makes sense!"

[Benson]

"Haha...more or less.....I think," Cadmium said with a chuckle. "Anyways, before that, it was talk about meeting new people and stuff."

"Ah, yes, well, as I was saying," Snickerfilly smiles sheepishly. "I'm Snickers, the town baker. What can you tell me about yourself?"

She looks over at Template. "Oh, and I don't think we've been introduced either."

The strange mare smiles. Nice to meet you!

"Cadmium Red, artist hailing from Canterlot." She stuck out her hoof for a shake.

"Foxglove...Um..."

Foxglove trailed off before she got the first word out, clearly thinking about something. Or maybe she just got distracted mid-thought. Either way, it took her a minute or two to come back to it.

"How are things in Canterlot...Recently?"

[Benson]

"Things are...well, the nobles are acting up, as usual. The new underground art movement is making its move, and stuffy old folks who don't understand certain art styles are trying to petition the Canterlot Museum to not display a lot of these pieces."

She then raises an eyebrow at Cadmium. "Art, you say? What sort of pieces are they trying to keep from being displayed?"

As a baker, Snickers knows a thing or two about creative expression, albeit through the medium of food rather than canvas. Still, icing and sprinkles can be quite a fun and effective artistic medium.

"Mostly performance pieces and and a lot of postmodern art and advant garde pieces, conceptual art simply because it doesn't adhere to the old fashioned aesthetics and sensibilities. Installation pieces are barely getting a pass and its all picky choosy by the folks in charge." Cadmium sighed and sipped her drink, whatever it was again.

Hearing that he is not suddenly going to lose his wings Blitz quickly springs back up and is in tip top shape in no time. He then starts watching the conversation with his head moving back and forth between participants until he says, "You guys are really talking about if a conversation can 'sploosh'? That's kinda odd. Though I am surprised that there is an Underground art movement going on. I'm something of an artist myself. Still they are really willing to outright prevent the pieces from being displayed just they don't follow old tradition? Man I had old geezers like that. Out with the new and keep to the old. We have some good ideas too."

Mind you, he knew well enough to not throw everything out of kilter in his search, but a few things here and there got taken out of place.

"Because some ponies are rude, and think that any style of art besides their own is bad, or not worth being considered art," Snickers sighs. "And when those ponies are in charge of museums or schools, they're able to suppress those other styles of art and thought. It's much the same in Culinary School..."
