Can I mention that Project Gutenberg is a legal way to read out-of-copyright books? I believe there's a few sites that allow you to play (the game equivalent of) out-of-copyright games legally, too.

Well, if it's out of copyright, we're not discussing piracy.

So.. What do you guys think of Captain Jack Sparrow?

Hardly counts as piracy if it's legal.

But be careful, not all books are out of copyright in all countries.

Yea, I was going to say.
I know that some companies purposefully set up parts of their 'shop' in countries where copyright is either much longer than the US or it never goes out of copyright, so that they can always argue that someone is infringing on their copyright.

Which of course means that because of 'think of the children' doctrine, we shouldn't even have Project Gutenberg.

Anyway, I have to make parfait several times a morning for my job, so I'm not a huge fan.
We use lowfat yogurt, to, so it tastes unappetizing.

I will never understand diet and low fat items.

Or low-sodium soy sauce, since soy sauce is just water, food coloring, soy and salt anyway.

Twilight should be make into one of those books you study in school.
Because no one likes the books they are forced to read and no one wants anything to do with them again after they have had to write novel long essays on small sections of the book.

See, the thing is...I can get behind this. Have the module on the book be called "how not to write abook". Have discussion of the implications of the book, ie pedophilia, necrophilia, domination, stalkerism, and the like. Twilight is one of those terrible books where you can get so much out of it by discussing intelligently about it. The contents of the book are garbage, but they can provide stepping stones TO inteligent discussion.
