Heart of Gheddon

I join the rest of the group, flying for a while, once they are teleported to safety.

[Tegannie]

"And do these guys have any particular weaknesses? Like cold, water, etc? I have my mindarrows set to do extra cold damage, but I can change that with a few hours concentration." Cassie asks as well.

[God Imperror]

-Cold Iron.

Demons are normally vulnerable to that material, and it can penetrate their tough skin without much problem.

-It will pierce their hide.

[Tharione]

"The vault is guarded by an ancient order that has long been allies with my own. Presenting the seal of the Al'Kasaar should see us safely to the treasure within."

"These demons tend to be resistant to most energies and immune to lightning based attack. But they vary from creature to creature, the Meteoric ones are vulnerable to the cold whereas Bar-Lgura are resistant..."

[bindin garoth]

"Good." Was the last word heard by Axile. He didn't see much need to talk right now. They knew what they had to do. And so he simply follows along, lost in his thoughts as they travel on.

"We should probably rest before we try retrieving the key, since the servants of Gheddon may have beaten us there, and I will need to re-new my defensive spells. I can also provide protection from fire to those who want it, although it is not an immunity, it should help. I can also extend the duration of some of other casters spells, which might be helpful. If you want me to try, just ask."

After flying along for a while(20 hour duration on the flying, so probably no worries)
"What brought everyone to this town? I came here hoping to learn more about a mage I encountered once, but I did not learn anything."

[Tegannie]

Cassie seconds the idea of rest, but keeps quiet about what brought her to the town.

[Tharione]

After trudging through slowly melting snow for several hours, Ori (who became visible awhile ago and much easier to follow) stops at a dry patch under an overhanging jut of stone.

"Here looks fine."

She sits up against the rock wall and sighs heavily.

[Archmage1]

"I can create an extra-dimensional space to rest in, or we can rest outside. Either way should be safe enough. Anyone want something to eat? I have 10 rations. Does anyone want me to protect the from fire? I have spells enough to protect us all, if you wish."

As she is speaking, Mariel is looking around at the surroundings, trying to tell if there has been anything else in the area recently.

Andrann simply looked around and kept silent at first. But just as they were settling down, he spoke. "Merely a coincidence. I had no business with that town, but I do not regret choosing to settle there for a night either."

[Tegannie]

"Nothing for me, thanks."
Cassie also takes a look around and pulls out her bag of endless rations to munch on some.

"Not to out-do you, but I have infinate rations, if anyone wants some."

If she finds nothing, Cassie will sit, pull her cloak around her, and trance.

[bindin garoth]

'I could make an extra-dimensional space too, I'll let her waste her energies. Axile thinks to himself. He feels sleep's sweet slumber starting to take his mind, but he fights it for now. It'd be best that they have some sort of guard up, even if they are in an extra-dimensional space. Who knows if the demons had a way to pull them out, or simply wait outside to ambush them in the morning.

"I'll take first watch."

[Archmage1]

"I am afraid I will need the night to rest, in order to recover my spells. Still, I will create the space. It will be warmer in there anyway. If you want to rest there, just climb up."

Mariel casts rope trick, and climbs in to rest.

[Tegannie]

That's useful. Cassie thinks to herself, eyein the extra-dimensional space. "I can take a watch once I trance. I only need four hours." she says, climbing in.

[Baxxie]

"Then I will take the watch between..." says Andrann, looking at Axile momentarily. "... him and you. he finishes.

[God Imperror]

Once the spellcaster is gone I smile to the rest of the group, moving my own cloak with mastery transforming it on a warm one sized tent where I sit. Soon I procure a small cup of warm tea and drink it with delight.

-Before we go to sleep I would like to discuss some somber matters...

A sip of the tea makes me feel warmer inside.

-While we fought at the wall, Bill died and he carried a significant quantity of gear. I don't mind carrying it myself, but it might suit us better if we divide it. Since we were the ones fighting with him I think it corresponds to us to decide.

I open the haversack and show them the trinkets that I looted before, briefing them in the uses of each.

-I would rather keep the crossbow, as it is I have to close into melee with my sword, and that can prove deadly. My backpack is also a normal one, thus I won't mind the upgrade. Does any of you have a preference?

[Tharione]

"I desire nothing of his, divide it as you desire." ori says, she continues sitting by the rock, regardless of the extra dimensional space.

"I will watch during the second and third as well as those who do. two sets of eyes are much better than one."

[Tegannie]

"I could use these gloves, but that's about it. I can carry the cure wand if no one else wants to, but I already have one..."
Cassie says, grabbing the gloves. If no one says anything about the wand, she'll head up the rope trick and trance.

Unless someone else wants'needs them, Cassie will take the gloves of dexterity

[Tharione]

The party rests nearly uneventfully, with a few streaks of fire rocketing across the sky far off near the horizon or impacting other mountains.

Eight hours later and it afternoon, the air having warmed considerably from being bathed in the sunlight and the snow, glistening in the sunlight, looking especially damp and heavy from being half melted.

Ori rises and surveys the rest of the party.

Mariel is inside the rope trick, studying her spellbook, memorizing about a third of her spells.

So, I am assuming that since Mariel is re-memorizing and modifying around 1/3 of her spells, it will take around 20 mins...

Axile, after waking up, goes outside and stretches before casting two spells, which seemingly dissipate and return to him.

After trancing and her watch, Cassie sits practing with her mindblade and mindarrows, as well as her corporeal bow and arrows, shooting the bow with ease.

[God Imperror]

I smile towards Ori while enjoying some warm tea after my meditation. Once the rest of them gets up I wave a smile to them and give away some of the items that Bill was carrying.

-Sir knight, this anklets will allow you to get out of trouble, or in trouble, if you press them together. And this rings should offer some protection.

-Cassie, this gloves might help you improve your aim.

-Axile as far as I see you aren't carrying good weapons, you might benefit from this daggers. They can attack through shadows and deal more damage to spell casters.

I look at the rest of the magical items, that haven't been sorted out.

-Other than those, would anyone want a good cloak? It seems to enhance the confidence in oneself.

[Tharione]

"One assumes it also serves as an additional layer against the cold as well."

She waits until the equipment has been distributed and Mariel climbs down before heading off from the campsite.

"No time to waste here, as I am certain i don't need to remind you."

"I will cast a few defensive spells before we head out, in the interest of not dying. I will also protect the knight from fire, seeing as he is still looking a bit black around the edges."

Mariel casts several spells.

"Shall we move on?"

[Tharione]

Ori nods and begins the long march...
The snow is heavier today on account of being half melted. On occasion the terrain is also much slipperier, which in the mountains can prove deadly.

The group trudges through miserable conditions for hours before arriving at the base of a cliff with a narrow (3' wide) pathway winding up to its top edge. Ori makes for the path without hesitation.

"I will take a look up ahead. If anyone falls, I have one feather fall prepared, so don't worry so much."

Mariel flies up, and takes a look around

Axile takes the daggers for not, without saying a word. After all, what good would daggers do on a spellcaster like him? He supposes he could bind some spells to support melee but still........ It just wasn't for him.

He hates trails like this. With the narrow, slippery paths. Nothing he could do about it though, so he continues on with the rest of the group.
