Lume, having no actual face, shows nothing of his reaction to these results. "Thank you for your cooperation," he says, using his most calming tone of voice. "I must discuss this with the doctor before I make any conclusions." Lume then walks over to Quinn, briefly glancing at Krystal. "Pardon me, Doctor Quinn, but could we privately discuss something?" he asks in a low voice, the pattern of lights on his head somehow conveying worry.

Yuki hugs her back from her seat in the chair. She gives a little yawn as she leans up against the vampire.

"That's my number one problem doc." Reinholdt says cryptically, wondering how the guy can help if there isn't possession involved.

So you're undead eh? A creature of darkness? I've read about undead in the Libris Mortis, and The Book of the Dead. I can change you...most likely, a kind of...reverse exorcism, summoning the necroti, the undead spirit out of you, and destroying it. I've been performing exorcisms for forty years.

Alysha gives a warm smile and starts playing with Yuki's hair with her free hand.

Krystal is not offended by Luma's request to Quinn. She knows that Lume doesn't know that she works here.

I'll let you get back to work, Quinn. I'll be at the desk when you're done.

Then she heads to the small desk with the computer and starts on her work.

Alysha can't help herself. She gives a small giggle at Jamie's misfortune.

That's what a brain freeze is. It doesn't actually freeze your brain. It's just, usually, if you eat cold stuff too fast, you get a sharp headache right at the front of your head. Though, I guess it's possible you could be, like, immune to that. I guess.

[Main Cabin]

"That would be an odd trait to have. But it hasn't bothered me so far, so I guess maybe I am immune. Guess that means I get to eat all the ice cream I want."

She grins and takes another big bite of ice cream.

"Do you think I am an angel Alysha?"

She sets her spoon down sounding more serious.

Alysha tilts her head a little as she looks at Yuki thoughtfully.

Then she shrugs.

I don't know. I mean, it's completely possible. You could be. But, you could also be a monkey in a big robotic suit.

You look a lot like an angel, that's for sure.

"Well I don't feel like a monkey in a robot suit, or an angel really."

She sighs taking her time and finishing off the rest of her ice cream.

Alysha will give a small smile, set her bowl down, and go to pat Yuki's shoulder.

Hey, angel or not, you're still my friend. Okay?

Yuki looks up with a smile at Alysha.

"Of course. I owe you so much Alysha. Thank you."

"To be honest, what I saw in there was quite worrying," Lume says. "Here, let me show you." With that, he projects an image of Kitty's soul scan (he's light, he can do that). "First of all, this is much brighter than a normal soul should be. But what's worrisome is this," he says, pointing to the barely discernible taint. "This could be a sign of any number of things, none of them good. If it was my work..." Lume hesitates, not wanting to have to explain his past to Quinn, who has been so nice to him. "If I were to use my powers over the soul for nefarious purpose, I could implant a faint trace of darkness, similar to this, that would give me control of the person when they had reached a strategically advantageous location. I'm not saying that's happened to her - indeed, I pray it hasn't - but it could have."

"It could produce that effect," Lume says hesitantly, "Although why anyone would want to use it like that I don't know. As to purifying it... well, it would be a risky maneuver. I can't really guarantee that I could separate the taint from the rest of her soul without doing any damage, at least not until I found out what caused it in the first place."

The Exorcist is bound by his church's oaths to destroy or assist any unholy creations off the planet. He taps the vial softly. The water inside is clear, but seems to give off light. See, you have a necrotic spirit that manifested in your mind, causing it to begin to resume control over you. At the moment, it's only showing mere signs of its existence, soon it will try to wrench control of you. The strongest minds resist the necroti, and don't end up as mindless undead. I've dealt with undead before, so I offer to you one last time, I can help you creature....or I can kill you....I don't particularly like killing anything...but if the necroti wins over your mind, you're not even alive then...you're meat.

Zero...tattled on her? He snitched? What? And here Valaira could've sworn that they had synergy and symphonic rapport and that they could confide in each other. That they could share their most intimate feelings with one another and commune. But Zero narced on her. And Valaira doesn't find that cool.

Valaira's nine tails droop within the minute and her emerald eyes nervously shift from left to right. Her wings stretch then fold as she speaks. She's petrified by the prospect of confessing any guilt to a staff member and being penalized for it.

"Um..."
"I-I don't..."
"They aren't..."
"The blood isn't all human! I purchased most of it legally! I have receipts. And the rest of it was blood that people weren't using! Please don't go in there all by yourself!"

Zero moves to try to calm Valaria down a bit.

The reason why I said something is because whenever a member isn't in the room, someone goes in there to clean it. I know you didn't mean any harm with them but what will one of those poor cleaners think when the room is covered in runes written in blood? If we say something instead of them, you won't get in trouble.

Then he sends her a more private thought to add to what he said.

If they want to get you in trouble, they'll have to go through me.

"Valaria... start at the beginning, please," Sophie says gently. "Tell me why you made those symbols and what they do. Then I'll decide what to do with all this."

"I'm sorry. I'm sure you'll see your friend again." Justin tries his best to lift her spirits. "And until then, you have caretaker to keep you company." The vault-boy reaches out his hand and tries to pet the floating drone.

Main Cabin

After a moment, Keo sits on the floor and curls up a bit. She's probably never going to see a lot of her friends again...

"I hope so," Brinika says as Caretaker is petted. She can see that Keo is sad too for some reason, and there's only one way to make it better. "Do you want to hear another song?"

Nicholas the cat purrs a little as he's petted. He doesn't notice the collection of genetic samples.

"I'd suggest talking to her about it, yes," Quinn says with a nod and a sigh. "Perhaps she has some idea of when it could have happened."

People clean the members' rooms for them while they're out? Posh!

Valaira wants to tell Sophie jack about the symbols! All Valaira is required to divulge is her name, rank, and serial number. But she has to tell Sophie everything. If she doesn't, she'll dig a deeper hole for herself and they'll make sense of the symbols without her.

Valaira swallows hard, sighs, and controls her breathing. In and out. Steady. Good.

"Okay... At the beginning, Zero was gone and I mistook him for dead. So...a series of bad events befell the people I held responsible for it. And then I tried to resurrect him...with..."

"The aid of lesser demons that I summoned. And I painted the symbols to magnify any spells they cast by projecting them into their realms. At a fair price. Which they paid in full. Market value. Souls for power..."

Valaira is ashamed that she accepted the souls of guilty as payment for services rendered. But she was devastated when he "died" and believed he would never be free from his earthly chains until she bid him farewell.

"I was gonna use those to bargain for Zero's soul when I hunted it down, but then he came back... And now I have a bunch of immortal souls that I shouldn't do anything with..."

Oddball looks towards the cat and gestures towards it with a blade of grass-hair. "Oddish?" Oddball doesn't know what it is, and wants Jamie's advice on whether it's dangerous. Oddball accepts that Jamie can be more knowledgeable than he is.

"...oh. Where'd the kitty come from?"
Jamie eyes the cat a little suspiciously, but leans over to give him a pat anyway.
"I think he's OK, Oddball."

"I don't know." Jasmine will continue to pet the cat, somehow knowing exactly how it prefers to be petted. "Is there a way to see if a cat is important? A... pet. A collar?" always interesting, finding new connected trains of thought. Jasmine will see if the cat has a collar.

The cat meows quietly when Jamie pats him and peers suspiciously at Oddball. Weird thing. He does, in fact, have a collar. There's a small tag attached to it, with "Nicholas" written on one side and "Sophie, Maple Cabin, GLoG" on the other side.

"Oddish?" Oddball will try to jump down from Jamie's shoulder and go to investigate the cat further. Trying his hardest to keep out of Jasmine's reach, though he might, just, misjudge the distance slightly.

Jamie helps check for a collar, then smiles, gently scritching Nicholas behind the ears..
"Oh, he belongs to Miss Sophie? He's OK then. I didn't know she'd gotten a cat."

Jasmine looks at the cabins. "I should meet more people-"

Suddenly, Jasmine gets a bite and her reel is unreeling and the thing is getting away.

"What? Jamie? Help?"

Nicholas purrs quietly when Jamie scratches him. Then, however, Oddball continues his investigation. Nicholas turns around and stares back at him.

Oddball's investigation is mainly just looking and maybe sniffing, but oddishes don't really have nostrils so that might not be possible. Anyway, when the fish bites, Oddball hops over towards Jamie. Partially because his eyes aren't large enough to win a staring contest with a cat.

Jamie starts to say something to Jasmine, when - thar she blows!
She grabs for the reel quickly!
"Alright, this is how you catch a fish!" she declares to her sort-of sister, demonstrating a well-pratciced technique at playing the fish on the other end of the line.

Yuki laughs which quickly turns into a yawn. Seems Yuki is getting pretty tired. But she quickly tries to hide it putting the smile back on her face.

"Perhaps it would be best if you told her," Lume says, seeming nervous. "I've been told that I deliver news in a manner similar to that in which a police officer notifies someone of a loved one's death. Which, to be fair, I have done a number of times in that capacity."
