The Sea Elf bursts into tears. He's not likely to stop any time soon; he's just been told that not only has his home sunk, his whole family is dead.

I'm really sorry; I'm rubbish at keeping track of all the floating debris; there was a mast, with some rigging and most of a sail, in the lake as well. It's still there, with the ballista; it's larger, and more unwieldy.

Lume, having no idea how to act in this situation, tries to calm the sea elf by placing a hand on his shoulder and making conversation. "My name is Lume," he says, (somewhat awkwardly) "and while you're here at GLoG, I will make sure no harm comes to you."

Refugee Slave Cabin

"Of course, Sir, of course! I'm free, Sir. You said I can do whatever I want, Sir, and I want to call you sir, Sir. You saved me; respect is due, Sir." It's used as a title of respect, and though Daisy is still rather passive, he won't stop using it, unless Justin comes up with a respectful title that he'd rather have used and doesn't have any connotations of mastery.

Another slave, the scaled lizardperson, is lying on a comfortable bed on the other side of an open door. His eyes are open, but maybe he can't close them. Three other doors are closed, each leading to the bedroom of two ex-slaves. I'm not sure where Not-Slave and Not-Object are, though.

I'm not sure the Sea Elf is listening at the moment. He's crying too much.

"I slept in the cabins when it was cold,m. It's not cold right now,m. It's getting colder, but it's not cold,m." It would be a bit chilly for most people, but between the fur and the robe Keo might be comfortable yet.

"Do you ever feel lonely?" Vasi asks. She just wants to hug and cuddle and mother the little catgirl!

"Yes,m. Sometimes,m. I don't have anyone to hunt with,m. I learn new things, but things are confusing,m. And there is a lot of magic,m. I don't understand any of the magic,m. I wish someone would hunt with me,m, but no one else is a hunter,m. I have friends,m, but none of them are... like me,m."

Keo sighs. That hit a soft spot, no one in GLoG is anything like anything she's used to.

"Have you met Pathfinder? I think he hunts like you do." Vasi says.

Lume would use some of his soul-related magic to soothe the elf, but he's pretty sure that would be breaking all kinds of protocols.

Keo looks up at Vasi, suddenly very attentive.

"No,m. He's a hunter,m? Where is he,m?"

Pathfinder chuckles at Reelshka and pulls her on top of him for a moment to look her in the eyes. "I'm glad you mentioned this though." He admits with his arms around her.

I have no idea how affecting the Soul can affect a thing of the Mind, which I generally play as part of the Trinity of Life, along with the Body; anything alive has at least two- animals have all three, plants have a Body and a Soul; spirits a Soul and a Mind (as do ghosts) corporeal undead have a Body and a Mind. Upon death, the Soul is reincarnated, the Mind goes to an afterlife and the Body rots.

So in addition to breaking protocols, it also wouldn't work.

"He lives in the forest near here. Let's see if we can find him. He's a person who looks like a large wolf." And Vasi will get up and lead the little catgirl through the woods, though Keo is likely to get Pathfinder's scent before Vasi finds more visible signs.

I'll let Wolfy decide when in the timeline they arrive.

Ah, bit of a difference there. Where Lume comes from, the mind, or at least the "self" is a part of the soul. Lume is a soul who was ripped from his physical body, but he gained some powers related to his world's version of the soul in the transition.

"Oh, I've been thinking about it for a while," Reelshka says. "Eventually all that was left was to ask you and decide one way or the other."

Reelshka is the goblin lady on the left side of her player's signature. Right now, she nods.
"Let's not waste any time, then."
She'll lead the other two out of the cellar to go look for the Wolfen.

Infirmary

Magic's a thing of the Soul (meaning that corporeal undead can't use magic), I agree; some people have the capacity for magic from birth. In the world that the Sea Elf is from, that's about one person in ten. There's different branches of magic, of course, though none are compatible with another some do overlap. Both Witchcraft and Druidism are tied to the land, and both Witchcraft and Alchemy create potions and poisons. The difference in the first example is that Druids only have magic within a forest (though some spells enable granting trees the ability to walk, thus moving a forest) and Witches have magic anywhere, but slowly lose power and health the longer they are from a spot to which they are rooted, regardless of terrain. In the latter example, Witches make potions using mainly plants and animals that affect fertility and health, whilst Alchemists create potions using mainly chemicals and have far more varied effects, but can only make potions whilst Witches have hexes, curses and blessings in their magical arsenal.

Anyway, the Sea Elf has cried himself to sleep around about now.

"Before you do decide something, maybe I should take you to my tribe and let you see how things are done among my people." The wolfen advises. "I'd rather not have you regret any choice you make."

Pathfinder's Hut - Keo

They'll arrive at his little sanctuary to see him around the fire, dumping a pawful of crushed herbs into a boiling cauldron. Assuming they approach, his ear flicks towards them. "Anything I can do for you two?" He asks.

Reelshka's ears twitch. It does seem like a wise course of action... a child isn't something decided upon on an impulse.
"That does sound like a good idea," she says. "It'll help with my decision, definetly."

Keo rushes to Pathfinder, "Are you Pathfinder'r? Do you hunt,r?" she sniffs at him eagerly. "Are you a wolfen,r?"

"Well, that's good to hear. Are you going to be staying around for longer?" Sophie asks.
Meanwhile, the small red-furred Siberian cat walks over to the three people now that they're out of the water and tries to rub against Salix's legs.

Salix eyes the cat curiously. Now where has she seen ears like that before... Anyway, he sure looks cute. Salix tries to pick him up and hold him against her chest. "Hi. I don't think I saw an animal like you before."

Vasi stands back a little. "Keo thought she was the only hunter here," she says. But she can be skipped now since HT is going to bed.

"So long as it's only because you want to, I guess," Justin concedes. Nobody stops Butler from doing it, so why not? Noticing the Lizardman, Justin gives a wave and a soft "Hey," but doesn't try to wake him if he's sleeping. "You said everybody's doing well. Nothing you guys might want?" he asks Daisy.

(Fairly certain Alexandrian's girls have their own cabin)

"Well, that's good to hear. Are you going to be staying around for longer?" Sophie asks.
Meanwhile, the small red-furred Siberian cat walks over to the three people now that they're out of the water and tries to rub against Salix's legs.

"I'm not really sure. I still have to talk to Quinn about my memories. After that I am not sure what is going to happen."

She frowns a bit, then shrugs it off.

"I figured as long as I was here I would help out."

"Yes, Sir. I'd like somebody to give this to that scare fire-lady who was there when you freed us, Sir." Daisy quickly opens a door and grabs a baked clay tablet covered in pictures of flowers. Daisy points at one of the flowers. "That's me, Sir, and that's Pansy, Lotus, Bramble and Daffodil, Sir. We couldn't figure out how to draw Lichen, Sir, but since we used one of his shed scales to draw, Sir, we figure he's added to it as well, Sir." As he speaks, he points at one of the flowers with each name.

"I can arrange for a trip next week if you'd like. Do you think Brinika would want to come too?" Pathfinder asks before propping himself up on one elbow to look at his current lover.

Pathfinder's Hut - Keo

The Wolfen chuckles before turning to look Keo over. "I wouldn't mind having a hunting companion since my brother left, but as a warning I like to hunt the bigger game around here. Mostly to keep the area safe, but also because they provide better hides." He explains before pointing at a massive rack set up for a scaly hide that is easily 20ft by 15ft in size.

Reelshka thinks about it, then shakes her head.
"She might, but I think she's too young for this sort of trip. Her parents wouldn't agree either."

[Lake]

Nicholas purrs. He enjoys being paid attention and affection.
"That's great. I hope your memories can be brought back. Maybe I can help with that too," Sophie says and looks down at Salix and her cat. "That's my cat, Nicholas. He seems to like you."

It's soon clear that Andy will stop before the hut got even visible. He will wait there for some time, but not getting closer.

Keo goes over to the hide and sniffs at it. "I've never hunted big things by myself,r, but if I can help I will,r!"

Anyway, the Sea Elf has cried himself to sleep around about now.

Well, Lume's soul magic is very different from normal magic in his world, but I suppose those differences aren't essential to the plot right now.

Anyhow, Lume will go back to waiting for his patient to wake up. (he really doesn't have anything better to do right now, unless Doctor Quinn has any tasks for him to perform).

Yuki looks up when Sophie says she might be able to help, excitement showing in her eyes.

"Really? That would be great."

He's going to sleep for a few more hours yet. Sure, he's fine, but his body doesn't know that and is enforcing a healing rest regardless. Magic healing can have that affect sometimes.

Nicholas purrs. He enjoys being paid attention and affection.
"That's great. I hope your memories can be brought back. Maybe I can help with that too," Sophie says and looks down at Salix and her cat. "That's my cat, Nicholas. He seems to like you."

"He's cute, and his fur is so soft." Salix pets Nicholas as she holds him. She just loves animals.

Mushroom Cellar => Following Reelshka to Wolfen's place

Levi, the swordguy, follows Reelshka all the way to Wolfen's hut, even though Andy doesn't. "I can stay awake for at least 3 days, so we're not in that much of a hurry," he comments offhandedly, although he'd rather it get done faster than slower.

As he walks, his cape blows dramatically in the wind.

He has two pairs of handcuffs attached to his belt loops, and he has a string of thick chains wrapped around his chest like a pirate wears a rope. "A nice, beautiful hut," he then adds as he comes in view of Wolfen's Place.
