Well, if there actually is more females then males this wouldn't be such a bad trait. Lot's of femalexfemale pairings takes up the excess adult population, which would otherwise go without a partner or be part of a harem.

It's practically canon though. They had mostly forgotten about Luna herself and only remembered Nightmare Moon. And since they didn't consider Nightmare Moon as anything but a monster they only remembered having on pony princess. Then Cadance appeared out of nowhere and everything got confusing.

Yup. I think we underestimate how long a 1,000 years really is. For instance, a thousand years ago from our time Vikings were still relevant, and were getting close to the final conflict with the "Emperor of Ireland" Brian Boru (in 2014).

And in Luna's case, we don't know how long her transformation was after Discord. I am willing to bet there were not a lot of books that survived the reign of Discord, and if civilization was only established for a decade or two afterwards (or even a century) then records are going to be spotty.

On the other hand, Heart's Warming Eve would have us believe they talked about the two princesses in their legends at least yearly (since they apparently were already on the flag).

I did redo that terror mission though. Only one death (Elan )and I even managed to capture one of those large orange bipedal aliens with a lucky stun.

Vaarsuvius also managed to take out two aliens with a opportunity shot with a rocket launcher. Immediate action fireball, baby!

Why was Twilight surprised that Celestia and Luna were sisters? Here's a thought: The princesses were never named in that story book. What if Twilight didn't actually know that Celestia and Luna were ruling that far back. What if there had been another pair of princesses that ruled in the past, before C&L?

Don't know about Braeburn, but Big Mac is absolutely gay. Which is why everypony's straight for him, even the stallions

Personally my headcanon is much the same. Because of the large gender disparity, many mares are bi- or homosexual, and this is common enough that it is socially acceptable. But because males are so few compared to females, gays are rarer and much less accepted. This is why Big Mac is the only stallion I consider headcanonically gay.

And then of course there are harems, which might be fashionable among some ponies, like the rich perhaps. It could be a sign of status, which is why I suspect Fancy Pants has a harem, and Fleur is his alpha mare.

Again, being asexual doesn't mean you don't want a partner, or romance and love. Just that sex in particular doesn't hold much interest (or might possibly even be unpleasant, I guess)

I think it is very few people (and ponies) indeed who genuinely wouldn't like to have someone close to share their life with. Someone perhaps a little closer than a friend.

Being a bachelor isn't bad per se, of course, but I can tell you it gets lonely in the long run. I don't think a lot of people decide to be alone all their life, if they have a choice.

I just saw the teaser trailer for the new Red Dwarf series (due out October).

I am once again impressed that the four guys can just, thirteen years after the regular series ending, with only Back To Earth three years ago, that even in those short clips, they're straight back into character, like they never left.

I was hoping to do a pony image dump to celebrate, but sadly, the only pony I could find was these two sketches.
