"Wow, really?" she said to Pale Night.

"Yeah. Sissy thinks Princess Cestya is our mommy. Sissy is cwazy." Pale Night says.

Her sister comes over and lightly bops Pale Night on the head. She then sticks her tongue out at Pale Night. "That wasn't very nice, sissy." Pale Night says.

Her sister just responds with a look. After that, she looks at Smoothie and points at Heart in a questioning manner. "Her name is Heartflight." Smoothie responds.

The foal shakes her head and goes back over to Pale Night.

The unnamed foal just gives Pale Night a look before levitating up the game for them to play.

The unnamed foal rolls her eyes.

Both Pale Night and the unnamed foal nod.

"Sissy always wins though. I'm not good." Pale Night says, and the two begin playing Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Heartflight smiled, leaning close to whisper to Pale Night. "Leave the hippo's mouth half-open, to catch any stray balls," she advised. She doubted it would make her a superstar, but tactics always made for a more even match.

Pale Night did better than usual this match, but the unnamed foal still won. The unnamed foal seemed like she actually WAS a superstar. They both used their hooves instead of magic.

"I did better!" she says with a lot of feeling but not a lot of noise. "Oh, did you see my pwushie of mommy?" Pale Night asks Heartflight.

Pale Night RUNS away.

Her sister follows her at a much more reasonable pace.

They bring back plushies. Pale Night has a Luna and Queen Chrysalis one, and the unnamed foal has a Celestia one. Heart might recognize the plushies as ones Mystic specifically commissioned.

"Auntie Mystic got 'em for us. This is mommy, and this is my best friend, Chryssie!" Pale Night says enthusiastically.

The unnamed foal hugs her Celestia plushie protectively.

"Yeah. They wanted them, and I figured since you were the owner of a plushie store, you could get them the exact ones they wanted."

The unnamed foal hugs the Celestia one tighter, as if somepony might take it away at any moment. "Don't worry, Heartflight isn't going to take your plushie away."

The unnamed foal relinquishes her grip a little.

The foal doesn't look afraid any more, but she's not hugging the plushie any less tightly. She must just really like it.

"Do you have a favorite plushie?" Pale Night asks.

The unnamed foal begins brushing her own plushie's mane and tail, which she's got a few accessories for.

We used to have a dog until then, a husky, but we had to give her to a rescue organization, where she learned to find lost ponies and save lives up in the mountains of Canickerda. I was crushed, but my mom bought me Blizzard instead, who happened to be made on the same day I was born. I guess you could say we're like twins!" She held the plush up. "See? The resemblance is ... um ... huh. Maybe not."

"....You know, I never had a sibling," she said offhandedly. "I wonder what it's like....

The unnamed foal takes a quill, and writes on a piece of paper in response to Heart's question

"Loud"

"Hey, I'm not that bad, sissy."

The unnamed foal nods her head as if to say "Are too"

"Am not."

The unnamed foal nods again.

This goes back and forth for a while...

"Oooo, my favorite," said Heart. With a flash of her horn, she summoned a small carton of Moose Tracks ice cream and two cartons of Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream and handed them out.

Smoothie gives them both spoons, which they use to eat the ice cream with. Pale Night has a very bright white magical aura, the unnamed foal has a dark blue one.

"Thank you. Now, girls, don't eat too much. Save some for another day, okay?"

"Okaaaaay." Pale Night says.

The unnamed foal doesn't appear to have a problem with this command.

Heart, on the other hoof, had no reservations about eating her entire carton, while turning half of her attention back to the papers.

Pale Night eats half her carton then stops there, though it's pretty clear she wants to keep going.

The unnamed foal eats about a quarter, licks her spoon clean, puts the lid back on, and hands it to Smoothie who looks rather impressed.

Smoothie puts the lid on Pale Night's, then floats the two cartons into the kitchen freezer.

"Thank you very much, Heartflight."

"Thanks, Miss Heartflight!"

The unnamed foal does a polite bow again.

Her curiosity getting the better of her, she directed a psychic question towards Mystic. So, who are these kids? Where did they come from?

~Well, as far as I can tell, nowhere. They were in my library a few days ago, but no matter what I try, I can't find their relatives. I can't find any record of any missing foals matching their descriptions, I've set up posters but nobody has come to claim them...I just have no idea. Not only this, but I lock up every door in the library every night after I close, and ward the doors, windows, ETC. They were in my room.~

Have you tried tracing their thaumic signature? Maybe a quick DNA test?
