The Invasion of Toril

[Lexin]

The Elf looks around far from being his calm and composed self. He notices though that there are no giant ants around this time...
I guess that's a good thing...

He stands up and focuses on Gale, although he still seems a bit confused. He calms down and thinks a while how to answer, and does that in low, hoarse voice.
"What brought me here? Ants, I guess. Last, ugly things I saw... And you are...?"
He asks and shifts his stance to defend himself if needed.

Allyzedl: Anything about him? Is he hurt from previous fighting/ ... still naked, as you mentioned before?

"I am Gale, a friend. We were here to eliminate the Formians, but we ran into a bit of trouble along the way. Still, it all worked out in the end. Don't Elves usually come with clothes, though? Still, not too bad. Who are you?"

As she is speaking, Gale looks the Elf up and down, and wipes some blood off of her face.

[Lexin]

He looks at his belongings... or to be precise at lack of them... looks at Gale again... "Will be back in a minute..."
And vanishes in shadow-like cloud, only to appear a while later fully equipped.
"Much better now... he says, adjusting the black-cloth mask covering his scar.

... So... Gale, a friend... good to know. I am Garrin Menar, came here to kill some planars... and got stung by giant ants... Formians, was it? Anyway, did you see a man called Zaavariel? He was fighting them with me... maybe he is lying here somewhere..."

[Archmage1]

"Nifty. Wish I could do that...
Zaavariel was with me, and 2 others, Krgg, a fighter, and Bleerie, a Priest of some sort, but they teleported to safety after they go frozen by the queen. Nice to meet you, Garrin. Somehow, I think our goals are similar. I will be going after the planars next as well."

[Lexin]

"You alone, or are the others, you mentioned going to teleport back here?"

Garrin shrugs and tries to judge Gale's combat potential... he seems unconvinced, but then remembers that it was her, who brought him back to life this time... certainly a point in her favor.

"If you are going to fight the planars... I guess we could join forces... but did they really just run away and left you here alone to fight the Ants?
Fine allies you have there..."

He looks at the remains scattered around.

Her alone...? Hard to say... impressive or terrifying...

[Archmage1]

"Well, I don't know for sure, but I imagine they will be back fairly soon. As far as running away goes, well, it was their only option. One more spell from the queen, and they were all dead. Noru is around here, somewhere. Probably looks like a troll."

Gale thinks for a moment, and then remembers the red crystals, and she pulls hers out.

"Using this crystal, I may be able to contact them."

Gale tries to contact the others.

"Did Bleerie, Krgg, and Zaavariel teleport there? Are they all right?"

[Zman]

"We should be going, would you do the honors? We'd best rejoin them if they are unable to join us." Zaavariel passes the scroll to Bleerie.

[mucco]

"Alright, let's just hope nothing bad happens. I would hate to end up in a formian hole right now."

Bleerie takes the scroll and reads it.

The cave troll strides up to the pair.

"Hardly alone. It was a prudent retreat they made, more allies are not a boon i would dismiss in these days..."

he tucks his red crystal away in a bag.

"I will leave it to you two, to the others or to check whether the queen was bluffing? I have a few minutes left in this form and a few spells left, but only one long range teleport. If we do check on the survivors there will be no return today."

"Well, we should be able to walk there fairly quickly, in any event. We just need to backtrack, which should not be too hard. Besides, I believe that the rest of the group is here. We should finish searching, and get back to the remains of Waterdeep."

An beautiful looking tan-skinned woman, Gale is wearing a silvery breastplate, and a bright red cloak. She currently looks a bit battered, but is still moving around.

"Hey Noru, I'm hearing you went full power on the queen, good job. We might want to use it again soon, perhaps against the Hexen." Bleerie notices the newcomer. "Oh, you were the frozen guy. How's things, getting better?"

Bleerie, female gnome
Bleerie has an almost savage face. Her wild green eyes and her carefully trimmed black hair, on her dark complexion, give the impression of an exotic person. Her small figure enclosed in a suit of full plate confirms this impression - an armored gnome is certainly an oddity.

is red-orange and roils like the heart of an

and pulses with stored energy.

These soft-soled boots look comfortable and

Appearing out of thin air, still covered from head to toe in Formian viscera, his thick, for an Elf, frame covered in muscle and a loin cloth as before, "Garrin, I see someone did manage to rescue you... And kill the queen before we were able to return... I looked forward to finishing the job, but we were momentarily outmatched."

[Tharione]

"Less walking more running hopefully, I'd prefer to fight while i still have claws. Quite Miss Bleerie, several days preparation went into it."

he clears his throat and shouts.

"Skeletons! Aid Miss Gale in the searching, carry whatever she gives you, etc..."

the skeleton and myrmarch exoskeleton rush over and... mostly begin just following gale around carrying whatever she hands them.

[Lexin]

*raised eyebrow* A troll... and a mage to that... wait ... 'minutes in this form'... good, it is just a magic trick...

He nods at the newcomer.

"You are right... more allies are a good thing to have... but what do you mean by 'bluffing'?"

Garrin turns to the newly teleported party members, noticing Zaavariel between them. He focuses on the gnome first.

"Better than near-death state I was trapped in just a while ago? ... I will risk a 'yes'."

To Zaavariel:
"Outmatched? Like the last time? Good, it is not me who is attracting trouble between the two of us... for a while I thought that Lady Luck abandoned me..."

Garrin is a brown-skinned, tall and muscular Wild Elf. He has long, black hair, icy blue eyes and a wide scar, looking like a reminder from a time when someone tried to slit his throat. He wears dark clothes, usually black or dark grey. He also usually covers his face with a wide hood and a black, cloth mask.

"We should retreat and rejoin Bailey. It is likely that without their hive commander the formian will be lost, but this place is dangerous nonetheless. Also, you might be able to help out fighting any invading formians at his place."

"Well, I think we are done looting, unless someone wants to try to find anything we missed. I can identify it later. We should get back to Undermountain, where they may be under attack."

Gale starts moving back the way everyone came, intending to return to Undermountain.

Norutroll follows at a hustle.

[Lexin]

Survivors attacked by remaining ants... would prefer a straight answer, but this is quite enough...

He shrugs and follows others.

[Zman]

Zaavariels eyes glw a golden light as he doubles with a quick search of his own... Before following and moving into the lead making sure to pay attention to his senses.

Gale leads them through the room where the skeleton was created, to the room north of it, one room to the left, one room up, and down the tunnel to the left. She moves as quickly as the slowest member of the group(probably Bleerie)

Bleerie moves at 30', as fast as an unencumbered human, I think faster than Krgg, and can cast Fly on the slowest party member.

Krgg the Bewildered

Krgg sits bolt-upright where he collapsed, feeling better but still dead tired with leaden limbs. He looks around and groggily begins to speak, Feels like I've been run over by an ogre as he flexes his arms and works his legs, still not quite responding as they should.

Right then...what's the

....


DAMNIT AGAIN!?!? Krgg quickly recognizes his surroundings and whips his blade out, casting about for sight of the queen. He sees the bodies and his companions re-united and curses again, muttering under his breath, I told you we would have been fine!

He greets the new-comer with a snort, I see we've rescued yet another elf from these ants. I swear on the One-Eye it's like collecting stray dogs running with this pack...you'd better be as useful as your predecessor here. Seeing the group beginning to head out, Krgg follows, trying to keep pace and fighting against the weariness that's sapped his strength to the bone and the poison that's stolen his vigor.

So anyway, what's the plan now? Are we done killing things yet? I'm dog tired and I'm so hungry he looks over to the new addition to their troupe I could eat an elf... The grin on his face shows he is...probably?...making a joke

I think Krgg wins for slowest member, as he is currently rocking out at a whopping 10ft move speed

The party follows Gale, back through the sewers, opens up the secret entrance and goes through it. After several minutes of continuing down the tunnel, the party begins to smell smoke. The smell is getting stronger and stronger as they continue towards the city. When they are finally able to see the city, they see buildings on fire, some in ashes, others have been broken through mundane means.

The ground is covered in bodies, humanoids and formian alike. Looking around, they see no signs of life.

Well, this looks bad. We should have left someone here to protect them. Hopefully, there are survivors.

As Gale enters the chamber, she just stops, and stares at the destruction.

"So fast. How did the queen even find them? We should search for survivors."

Gale flys up to about halfway up the cavern walls, and yells out

"Anyone still alive? The queen is dead!"

[Allyzedl]

Gales voice echoes throughout the cavern.

[Medic!]

Krgg

The orc toes a corpse here, kicks an ant over with his foot there, and kneels next to one of the dead people, letting out a long slow whistle, Bet they wish they'd paid a bit more attention to that ugly harlot during training. He rises to his feet gazes out over the destruction before him. Back to the mud with you sorry ****s. I'm going to find something to eat.

And now orc... could be worse... probably... At least he is on my side...

"Try to avoid eating elves... we aren't as tasty as we look..."

"Let's see if anyone is home..."

Norutroll scratches at his left arm absently.

"Skeletons, round up any items you can salvage from this place, mundane equipment included, pile it here. If anyones still living leave them and their things alone."

they trudge off to do so.

"I've seen only a rare few battles with no survivors on either side..."

Norutroll begins searching for survivors and exceptionally powerful / well equipped looking dead people.

[Allyzedl]

As Garrin listens for anything around him, he hears nothing other than the rustling of the people around him.

Noru's skeletons go off and search for every item that they can find. Several minutes later they return and drop a pile of clothes in front of Noru, who is no longer a troll.

Noru doesn't seem to find any items on the corpses, other than their clothes.
