The orc continues his purposeful stride, watching this way and that for danger as he escorts the two ladies. Ah, friendly solar, I see. What the hell is a friendly souler? Must be some dunderhead priest in there from Bailey's group or something...bah who cares?

Shopping eh? What do you have in mind to try to buy in this run-down shell of the City of Splendor?

"Well, I would like to buy a better cloak, or some support magic, but we will see when we get there. What would you like to buy?"

As she walks along, Gale is fiddling with the morningstar looped haphazardly through her belt, clearly thinking about something else.

"I will definitely need a cape to better protect myself against enemy spells. I might also try to find a wand or two, and I definitely need diamond dust. Then, of course, whatever the money allows! I'd like to be able to dodge more blows, and I kind of have something in mind for that. We'll see."

Krgg the Shoe Shopper

Hmph, you know the best defense is a good offense. How much do you think we have to spend?

"And the best offense is trying to draw enemy fire and keep myself alive so that you guys can smash harder and with less problems! I am so weak, physically, that there isn't really anything else I could do. But I think I'm fine."

"Well, I say victory goes to the survivors, so anything to increase our odds of surviving works, so offense or defense. I think we will end up with five thousand gold or so, but I could be mistaken. I never was much of a merchant."

"Let us go, we have need to resupply." Zaavariel will easily keep up the groups slow pace.

"What i need I doubt i can purchase from those described, but we shall see."

The angel replies, “I have not seen any elven women around here, I am sorry I couldn’t be more helpful than that.”


The party leaves the church, heading in the direction that the angel mentioned where the store was at. As they continue walking, the party sees less and less ruined churches and more old, crumbling, abandoned shops and houses.

Just as the architecture around them begins to change as they enter the merchant district, they spot a female human, wearing nothing but a collar running towards the party.

You hear her yelling, “Help! Help!” as two hound archons are chasing after her. The archons have greatswords in their hands as they are slowly catching up to the human female.

Krgg steps out in front of the group and draws his falchion. HA! I like that! PLANAR BAIT! Bring 'em over here lil fishy...

Bleerie runs and places herself between the hound archons and the woman. Zaavariel attacks and hits the hound archon. Gale fires an attack at hound archon 1, killing it, then her attack bounces and hits the other hound archon.

Krgg frowns as everyone runs past him, I understand wanting to get into the thick of things, but isn't that a bit much?

Not wanting to be left out of the fun, he decides Zaavariel had the right idea and charges at the remaining hound archon.

The woman, is still catching her breathe from running away from the hound archons, but manages to squeeze out a few words, "Thank you so much for saving me."

Says Garrin as he slowly joins the rest of the group.

"Eh, it's nothing", says Bleerie as she throws a towel at the naked woman. "Are you a slave?"

"No problem, no one should be hunted like that. Are you all right? What is your name?"

Gale hands the woman her traveling cloak(not the cloak of charisma, but the one from the explorers outfit)

Krgg the Ladies' Man

Krgg wipes the gore from his blade before re-sheathing it, then cracks a grin, watching the woman catch her breath...until Gale and Bleerie ruin the show.

Woman! Are there more of those around here anywhere? Speak up, and fast!

"Krgg, calm down. If you terrify her, we won't be able to learn anything. Why don't you go and take a look around the corner, to see if there are more coming.

After composing herself, and covering herself with a the cloak the woman responds, "I guess you can call me Tulip, I am much better now that those things aren't chasing me. I am a slave of Clover the Bitter. That was amazing, I have never seen anyone kill planars before.

There were a few of us that ran away, but the others got caught and taken back. But only two planars went after me."

Krgg struts off to peer around the corner, feeling very proud of himself, Hear that? She said I'm AMAZING! He mutters under his breath You'll start getting excited when we're choking on slave-catchers...

"Who is this Clover the Bitter? We were planning on killing most of the planars in this area, so any information you can offer would be helpful. Do you mind if I examine that collar? I might be able to remove it for you. No one should need to refer to themselves as a slave, and at a guess, that is the mark you your slavery."

[Allyzedl]

"Clover the Bitter is the current king of Waterdeep. He is a cruel tyrant, who enslaves those native to this plane to do his bidding. I have tried to remove this collar before, but I can't seem to break it. I would love if you were somehow able to remove it from my neck."

"All right then. Please hold still. This will take a minute or two."

Gale approaches Tulip, and casts detect magic, and examines the collar through her monocle, trying to identify it.

Noru seems to take little interest in the girl and takes this as a sign its a good time to cast spells.

You notice that the collar is an animal training collar.

The dove flies off, and circles around the perimeter of the group. The coast seems to be clear of any other archon. You can also see that the shop that the angel described to you is only a few blocks south of your current location. You also notice black smoke coming out from a chimney on a black metallic building. The building north of the shop seems to be in good shape and there are lights coming from inside of it.

Tulip questions the party, "I appreciate your help, but I must ask, what are you all doing here in Waterdeep? Surely, you must know that it is under the control of the planars."

"Well, it is for now. The Formians are no more, and we intend on sending the planars back to wherever they came from."

[Allyzedl]

"No offense, but you all seem like quite a random assortment of people. How did you all end up here?"
