The Invasion of Toril

Noru finds himself in front of a tall building, that is made of a black metallic substance. Behind the building is the Waterdeep wall. There are no windows on the building, but there is a door on the west facing side.

Gale takes off her armor, and passes it and her new mace to the dwarf.

"Can you add the soulfire enchantment to this armor, and the eager and warning enchantments to this mace? Thank you."

Wulf responds to her request, "It will take about an hour for each upgrade, which one would you like me to begin with?"

Wulf will give the items that he crafts back to the person that requested it, what you do from there is up to you.

Bleerie accompanies Gale in this time, waiting to spring into action again.

Bleerie hangs around in the shop, chatting with Krgg.

"Just take both of them, and I will come back in either a couple of hours, or in the morning, depending on what the rest of the group does. Thank you."

Gale leaves the dwarf's shop, heading towards the exterior of the drow merchant's place.

as she passes Noru, she stops, and talks to him.

"Hello Noru. This building is a dwarf's forge. He will upgrade weapons or armor in exchange for rare ingredients. I brought him the head of the queen, which he may turn into a helmet."

[Allyzedl]

Gale leaves the black metal building, and tells Noru about Wulf as she walks back to Jimbob's Emporium, and sees Bleerie and Garrin standing outside of it.

[Tharione]

"You heard her Vincent, My strange affinity for collecting severed heads may pay off at last."

he gazes off toward the castle from atop his shadowy mount.

"Seems they may be listening to us, the majority are guarding the roof."

[mucco]

"So, you think there is room for us to teleport there? It is a relatively safe place to conduct an attack from, given that any planar not able to fly will have to bottleneck on the tower on its way up. Did you recognize any specific creature?"

[Archmage1]

As Gale approaches, you immediately notice that she is not wearing her armor, or carrying her new mace.

"Hey guys. Done shopping? I went and investigated the smoke over there"
(gestures in the direction of the Dwarf's shop)
"And I found a building. When I entered, I discovered a dwarf willing to upgrade weapons and armor free of charge, in exchange for rare ingredients from creatures. I brought him the head of the queen, and he agreed to upgrade my armor and mace, as well as creating a helmet that will be ready in the morning."

[Tharione]

"Unable to fly or teleport, which makes for only the ones which don't stand a chance against us as is. Three on the outer wall, none on the inner two, several on the roof."

Noru rotates his neck to try and alleviate a kink in it.

"I can't discern their species from this distance, let's see if i can catch a glimpse before they destroy my eyes..."

Noru sends the bird into a dive at its highest speed to see if he can get a view of whats atop the walls and/or roof.

"If there are any constructs at all, I think we would rule out more enemies than you think. They may be prepared for an air attack, but surely they have more defenses against a land one."

[Archmage1]

"It seems to me that we want to draw off some of them, before attacking. If we are going to be fighting most of them if we simply attack in the front, perhaps a diversion might be helpful, or we could try to attract some of them to come and try to kill us. I suspect that if one or two of us come into sight from the front, the guards there will either chase us, or send others to do so, which would allow us to kill a few of them. But shouldn't we wait for Krgg to get his weapon back? or at least get him a replacement weapon for the time being"

[Tharione]

"I'd rather face the whole of their defenses slowly than just the bulk all at once, surrounding me. They are prepared for someone to teleport onto the roof."

"I agree Miss Gale, but was trying to avoid speaking it aloud as i feared they were listening. In it now though, a diversionary tactic at the very least yes."

"So, do we just charge in then?"

[Tharione]

"A different teleportation location within the walls, following a diversionary tactic, would be my preference..."

He appears to be concentrating very hard.

"But first i would like to confirm just what we are up against."

You are able to discern the features of one of the creatures on the roof, then a fireball kills the raven.

A feral beast of fangs and
claws that stands as tall as an
ogre, this creature resembles an
anthropomorphic ser pent, with cunning yellow eyes
and massive, thick-muscled limbs.

"We might as well try a diversion, but wait until morning so that everyone is armed and armored, or just get the orc a new weapon, and go for it now. They might not be listening."

[Tharione]

"If we wait one day, i can confirm they won't be listening to our planning. As Krgg the annointed is lacking his preferred weapon this may be best. But with so much of our daily resources still available a blitz attack and retreat today might prove fruitful."

Following the others Zaavariel will eventually come back around to bulk of the group discussing a potential assault on the upper planars, "I'd rather we assault any entrence besides the front, kill as many as possible and use our collective teleportation to retreat. Slowly weakening the enemy without committing ourselves to a full assault at this juncture. Though, assault their stronghold directly is appealing, I feel we should weaken them by targeting any bands not within their stronghold first."

[Archmage1]

"True. I can deal quite a lot of extra damage currently. Perhaps we should find a cheap weapon for the orc, and let him use that. Zaavariel, perhaps we can try drawing some out, and kill them, before trying your tactic?"

Gale looks around through the debris, looking for something that can be used as a weapon.

A dove appears on Norus shoulder.

"That is roughly what blitz attack means. I will see if i can find any stray groups."

the dove flies off to do so.

[Allyzedl]

Gale finds a piece of 2x4 from one of the nearby piles of rubble of a building.

Gale pulls it out, and looks it over

"Well, this should be marginally better than nothing for the orc, whenever he comes out."

[Tharione]

"At least one's a limbo stalker."

Shakes head

"Denizens of limbo serving Inevitables? It's like cats lying down with dogs these days."

[Archmage1]

"It is a bit odd. Still, it makes little difference, as we are going to kill them all anyway. Are we going to try to draw a few out? We should wait for the orc to emerge, however, before we do anything, as we may need him, even without his weapon."

[mucco]

"You can fly easily. Why don't you go and try to snipe out some of them, see how many follow you. Then you bring them to our ambush. We will look for a suitable place, not too close to Jimbob."

[Archmage1]

"I can do that, but I would like to see where I am trying to draw them first."

Gale flies up, and looks for a good ambush spot

[Lexin]

"Just try to avoid dying in the process. Would be a shame."

Garrin looks around

"Are we looking for an open space... or just the opposite to hinder their flying casters?"

[mucco]

"To my experience, narrow battlefields hinder regular soldiers more than magic users. We should definitely try to find a place that denies any enemy their ability to fly, such as within a house. A large, abandoned warehouse would be perfect."

[Lexin]

"Sounds good. Noru, could you look for a big building? ... preferably with a roof."
