My favorite part of the reactions I get is when people don't recognize me because they haven't seen me with short hair before.
I've had someone offer to introduce me to my friends because of it. Actually, taking her up on that might have been funny.

When I cut my hair short I came back in with my bandana as usual, and with glasses because I had lab that day. So I looked the same from the front, until I took off the bandana. That was fun.

I actually only really got tears when I cut it from really long (butt length) to sort of long (shoulder length). When I cut it again to actually short a year later everybody was just too shocked to react, except one friend who screamed and ran out of the building.

Edit: Dressing in uncharacteristic clothing (and switching glasses for contacts or vice versa if one is your normal look) and pretending to be somebody else is a good idea. You definitely have to follow through on that.

This guy... This guy is the Tesla of baking. It's amazing. The ones he's in the process of describing here are:
Broken Glass - gluten free vanilla (iirc) and jam cupcakes with toffee broken glass on top.
Zombie Cupcakes - chocolate with a green marshmallow in the middle with chocolate icing, crumble chocolate biscuit dirt and a fondant zombie hand sticking out the top. OMG nommilicious!
And something I know a lot of people here would be into trying, French Toast - maple syrup cupcakes with maple syrup icing and - wait for it! - maple-candied bacon bits on top. For the sceptical, it was actually really, really good. Seriously.

Red-eye is due to the camera flash being reflected off the retina at the back of the eye...it has nothing to do with the colour of the iris.
