#2, Spoilers that I'll probably get to at the end of the road. Suffice to say, I like this path's ending. I don't know if I like it better than the pacify route's ending...But there's a lot of good in it, enough that I'm torn.
Well for anyone who know what happen when you learn how Elodie's mother died, this will be best ending. (Or at least bring a lot of satisfaction.)

If, given that we have almost but not fully crazy maxed magic stat, we survive.

    Chapter 45
    or
    A Showdown with Joe Chill

    Spoiler
    Show

No messing around. We take this man out...Or go down trying.

But before we begin...Let's say, hypothetically, we picked another option. If we picked to offer him our power, we'd get a cruelty check, as he demands we let him use our power to kill our dad, if we're *really* willing to do whatever he says. We're not that sort of person -- we're not a monster. So it would take us back to the question of the duel.
    And if we refused?

...Well, it wouldn't work out well for us.

So we really never had a choice, except in whether we even had a chance to live.

But Elodie won't back down today.

I'm guessing this also cleans the resonance of the loser or something, or perhaps the rules do that for us.

And then it is time to begin.
    And then tension music happens.

The screen shakes and flashes. We're past our first hurde...

Ultimately, he's provably the better straight-up wielder of spells...

He's used to dealing with magical attacks, but he might not be expecting a physical one.
Perhaps if you rushed him, you could take him off guard? Up close, he couldn't use his fancy spells. But what would you do then?

Are you sure? I mean, who's making us fight fair, here?
    Still, a magical physical attack...

Or maybe if you could distract him somehow, you could cast a spell he couldn't block?
Lucky, we know about all sorts of magical attacks. We've studied.

But what do we use to finish this supervillain? Will this work?

All our choices have led to this moment...We all know what will happen next...But let's hear it!

My vote is for the sword, since that's the only area we might feasibly have the advantage in.

    Chapter 45, Part 2
    or
We Had To Say It Once

    Spoiler
    Show

Let's do this. Let's strike a blow for truth and justice, against the darkness of this world!

For Nova, for ourselves, for our mother!

This man is our Joe Chill. And we're...

    The god-damned batman.

    You have won.
Take that! We emerge victorious to find...

That the scene, in a moment of incredible anti-climax, ends there.
Seriously, game? No one cared that Elodie just beat an evil sorceror-king probably at least twice her age and many, many times her experience, through pluck and training?
No one cares that she single-handedly ended an invasion?

...Well, I'm going to throw a parade for the girl!

Of course, all I have for the parade is dead Elodies from different paths we could have taken. Let's take a look at those...
We've seen what happens when Elodie signs up for a Naval battle she can't fight, but what happens if she agrees to plan Magical Nuke, but doesn't have the skills to pay the bills?

    She explodes.

Well, what if we couldn't win the Togami fight?

He fries us, and it looks like Team Elodie blasts off for good.

Oh, and, just to make a clean rule of threes...What is the price for Plan Tactical Nuke? Well, when the consequences arrive, you get a choice of how to deal with them... if you try to be noble or think something will save you if you're noble...

Sadly, the one where you're evil enough to resolve that consequence through tossing someone else at it, but can't stand up to the person that enfuriates couldn't make it.
    You'll be missed, little death-chibi.

Anyway, these fallen princesses give our survivor a hand!

That aside, we've got a few more weeks of random training.

    What sounds fun to y'all?

(Yeah that's one of the default I noticed about this game, the text description can be frankly underwhelming at time.
I know they say 'less is more' but sometime it could do with being a little less terse.)

He fries us, and it looks like Team Elodie blasts off for good
(Is it me or does her little ghost look strangely happy on this death ?)

Does the kraken taking you counts for the 'encountering a tentacled monster' achievement or is it only the keythong ?
If you try to dsitract him, what skills does the game ask for ?)

Welp anway at this point I don't think any of the classes we take will make much difference. So why not go into court manners and decoration to learn the more tastefull way to decorate our therone with the skull of Togami ?

Sorry about that...I've sort of been in a bit of a downward internal spiral. Also, school. I've actually had this on my computer for, like, 3 days...

This is the moment when plan Reflex hits a snag everyone forgot. I am not sure what to do about it, either, since it's only booked for a single week....
    Hmm.
    Hm.

Ok, new plan. I will finish Foreign Intelligence, and do some Flexibility. Then someone gets happy and some people can adjust themselves for happiness.

I wonder if we just could have done an introductory Yoga class.

And here we learn about the guy we killed: he's a court musician she married and then set up as King. a Murdering Lumen-king...
I'm guessing his wife who probably does love him, but may also be a liiiitle bit brainwashed/easily manipulated may not be happy about this.

    And we're done here.

Oh, it looks like there is some fallout from our fight...But it's just a matter of getting out a mop.

And by mop, I maybe mean the remains of our army/some adventurers.

A number of royal holdings have been damaged and valuables stolen. Not only do you lose them, but you will have to pay for repairs.
Good thing we've had that money saved up....
Also, it really could be worse. There could be a Kraken ravaging our coasts, ruining out trade economy for years on end.

Woooh! Fiance to the rescue at last! Good boy.

Here's our mood. Let's see about doing something with it.
