Valen looks around the room, "They are going to ruin any chance we have of stealth."

Natalia has a Color Spray Scroll in case Shiny runs out of 1st spells for combat later. How many does he have left?

[Admiral]

"A nap right now?" Shiny asks as he jogs past Natalia, back in the direction they came. "I wouldn't recommend it, but if you're tired..."

Shiny leads the party back where they came from, barely looking to make sure they're following him.

Too bad we don't have Mass Suggestion: Be quiet, go to sleep, don't tell anyone we were here yet.

Miriam has said nothing so far but as the party hopelessly fails to stay unannounced, she says "Remember why we are here. If we cut the head of the snake, the snake dies. The screams will attract warriors protecting their families. May be we can convince them we are after the leadership."

She stops and for the first time raises her voice "NO ONE TOUCHES A WOMAN OR A CHILD. And if they attack you, non lethal damages. Warriors and others are fair game."

Mithril ran as fast as she could commanding the torch off and casting a spell on Whisker's collar as she did so. She shoved the torch in her bag and grabbed one of the rods instead. "I don't think they will take kindly to us killing their leader."

Natalia nods grimly. "Yes. Hurry right, leave."

"Probably not but they probably value their lives. A few will die but the rest might decide it is not a fight worth dying for ...."

Kurt turned back immediately, before Shiny had even spoke up - this was not a fight he wanted to get into. "If a warrior approaches, he dies. That is what we chose when we decided to come through here instead of hiding. But I will not kill an untrained person, Miriam. Don't stop, or you'll fall behind!"

"They'll follow shouts...Find us." As they run, Natalia asks Shiny, "Spells to mislead...Spells to disguise too? Look like orcs, fool the orcs?"

[Zman]

As the women and children begin crying and screaming, Shiny leads the group at a run back the direction they came, taking the first turn towards the surface. Valen let's the others pass while keeping a close eye behind them...

Miriam can hear gunts, some shouts, and the clank of metal ahead. Mithril hears a shout from ahead.

Valen hears running and some shouting from a small group from behind, as well as the thread ahead.

"Maybe a half dozen ahead, a few behind. I'll hold the rear, but need light, we are fighting two fronts." Valen slows and holds his ground just inside of the turn, just enough to force enemies to round the corner...

Natalia groans as the orcs run to surround them. "No light, only two hands," she tells Valen. Hopefully Shiny or Mithril will have one of the torches. Her crossbow is loaded and she's ready to fight if they have to...

I know you can't update the map, but did we get the chance to go down the right fork before being surrounded? Man, we screwed up there.

Miriam lifts her quarterstaff above her head to provide light for all and starts an incantation, making it easier for all to hit their enemies.

"St. Cuthbert, by the magic you decided I was worthy off today, I am asking you to guide the hands of my comrades to help them bring order and justice to this land!"

The staff shines brightly where the crude carving were made for a brief moment and all 6 heroes feel more accurate and powerful.

"Valen, don't stop! We'll kill those ahead, then turn on those behind and crush them, but we need to keep moving! We still have surprise - let's use it!" Kurt's axe is raised as he keeps going forward.

"How far apart?" Natalia asks. If they're far enough to run, then they can just take on one at a time...

[Zman]

Valen barks back at Kurt in the adrenaline fueled bliss, "I'm not planning on staying, just defending our flank, you worry about what's ahead!"

Valen is still moving with the group, but is staying a few paces behind to protect Miriam and Mithril.

[Zman]

As the group rounds the corner the encounter a large cavern without an Orc in sight... The rooms is littered with debris, some weapons are in sights, none appear of good quality...

Everyone but Mithril can hear the pounding footfalls coming from behind, while Valen, Miriam, Mithril, Natalia can hear a few grunts and heavy breathing inside of the room, it's not empty.

Miriam begins casting a spell...

A globe of brilliant radiance erupts silently, as though the light of dawn had arisen.
All creatures in the area glow with light equivalent to a torch for the duration of the spell, making hiding difficult and even revealing the location of invisible creatures.
(Invisible creatures are still considered to have concealment).
In addition, undead and creatures within the area that have light sensitivity or light blindness take 1d6 points of damage, +1 point of damage per caster level (maximum +5).
A successful Reflex save halves this damage.

As the fearless party enters the apparently empty cavern, two orcs spring from their hiding places, one from behind th southern support, one from the northern support. Mithril lets loose her spell on the only Orc she can see, catching another hidden Orcmin her quick spell work. Nstalia let's loose a bolt from her hand crossbow as soon as he appears...

After the Orc is hit by Miriam's spell and Natalia's quarrel flies high, it comes in and attempts to land a blow on Kurt... But swings and misses wildly having Taipei the near blinding light of Mihrils spell.

While the other swings at Shiny... Barely missing the agile gnome..

Shiny splays out his palm towards the orc in front of him. He can't step back with his party behind him, so he tries to cast in a way that doesn't give the orc a chance to slash at him again.

Orcs

A second wave of slower orcs descends upon the party from their hiding spots, one nasty looking chain clad orc bellows in rage as he comes at Kurt with his wicked Falchion. Four others, one already wounded by Mithril move out clad in nothing but Loin Cloths and wielding spears.

The chain clad leader takes a mighty swing a Kurt...bringing his vicious looking Falchion down upon Kurt obliquely through the shoulder nearly severing the Dwarfs head... The Dwarf is barely standing after such a powerful and deadly swing...

The other 4 release their spears, hoping that the melee in front of them doesn't disturb their aim too badly... but none of them come close to finding their marks...

Three others clad in Loin cloths and armed with wicked looking knives round a corner at the rear of the group prepared to flank...

I am going to regret this so much...

Though Natalia isn't quite able to draw her shortsword in time, she runs over to Shiny, then with a snap of her fingers vanishes and spins back into existence just behind the raging orc and attempts to use her momentum to ram the dagger into the orc's back.
