Eh, just gonna by the average and fast forward this fight on a second thought. I took in consideration its AC and remaining rather low HP and the rate of successful hits to failure and this thing was gonna go down in this round without a doubt with barely minimal damage to either Khuurargh or Naknuk. And its just a filler combat at this point with the main threat gone.

Long story short, you all kill that monster dog dead.

Victory cleared.


The monster dog creature laid dead.

"Hah hah," Sir Squeeb squeaked. "Take that!" He stabbed at the dead dog with his sword. "And that." Once more. "Now some of this, you kuh-nav-e!" By the third stab Squeeb finally realized that the dog had not moved in a good several seconds and was probably dead. "Oh," he said disappointedly, he was just starting to do well with this sword fighting business. To be sure he tapped the dead dog with his foot, it didn't budge.

Sighing, he looked around trying to see if there were any more monsters to fight, but sadly there was not. But still after a second he grinned, that grin that seemed to proudly put on display the fact that nothing at all was between his ears. "We killed Vorka!" he celebrated thrusting his sword into the air. "And her monstrous murder mongrels!"

[Nixed]

"Great Heros of Licktoads!" Cheers their victory louder than might be wise not knowing who else might be about. He does a quick check, stamping out any of the fire that remained on the deck before starting to look around with the others.

The little blue goblin dances a happy dance and spits fire into the air.

Khuraargh's blade clears the witch's body
Just as Sir Squeeb draws his sword free
And turn to face the snarling mutant beast
Over the smoking, blood-spattered deck
The Licktoad Heroes' weapons feast
Cleaver and sabre, spear and spell
Render the foe a mangled wreck
Sent howling to Lamashtu's hell
As the meaty head falls,
Khuraargh joins his tribesmates' calls
Blade on shield raising a cry
Where naught his ruined throat could hie
To each one there, he goes
A pat on the shoulder and a smile there flows
But once the celebration's done
For the battle fought and won
Khuraargh ties fast a rope
Tight around the beast's chest
Grunting with every heave,
He hauls it up the mast and riggings' weave
Then ties the lot down,
Certain that only time and seasons, away shall wrest
This third testament to the Licktoad's glory
And then he frowns,
He remembers, lest empty-handed be sorry
He signs to the others
His fingers miming walking a course
His shoulders shrug, the hands bloom and flare
Like the spreading of a flame and suddenly
Leap and stamp like the crackling of fireworks...

...and as the others lead the way below,
Weapons he readies, lest some unbidden ambusher blow.

Whelp, nothing new seems to want to ambush the formidable heroes of Licktoad, what do our goblin victors do now?

Khuraargh goes down below
Either at the pack's head
Or simply going with the flow
In his rage indulged
Belowdecks, every door kicks down
Or hacks the hinges through
Searching for every coin or crown
Seeking the fireworks which for their quest must shew.

Knowing that this mission was to get fire works he stays outside, not knowing how long the elixir lasts, he just wants to be sure.

Sir Squeeb stood there with his sword in the air exceedingly happy with how his adventure was turning out so far. His mind drifted off thinking about the battles he'd gone on, how he helped kill a water dragon, and now he helped kill a doggie. Truly songs would be written in their honor. Suddenly a thought managed to worm it's way past the moat of blinding optimism and the defensive fortress of knightly conduct into Sir Squeebs mind. Not used to such things happening, Sir Squeeb, as usual, overreacted.

"Oooh ooh ohh, Sparky. I found a thingamabobber!" He said waving around the poo covered candy and unknown potion. "Do you know what they are?"

[Benson]

Khuurargh, heading down would equate to going down into the galley. This room is a blood-splattered chamber of horror. Dead rodents, snakes, and birds have been variously nailed, tied, and hung around the walls. At the far end of the room, a large cauldron bubbles over an iron stove set against the aft wall, its stovepipe chimney extending up through the ceiling. A bloody burlap sack sits on the floor next to the stove. The center of the room contains a long, rickety table surrounded by chairs that contain several grisly decorations—a whole family of skeletal goblins, their bones bleached white and bound together by reeds and twine.

Deep, the scarred goblin's frown
He'd felt foulness of this sort might well go down
Sword on shield, he clangs
Once the others arrive, he stamps his feet and bares his fangs
At all about, he points
And fits un-word to deed, slashing at furniture joints
Causing wreck and ruin
Harsh his snarls and calls his kin to join him in justified din

Following Khuurargh down into the galley the fire wizard casts light on the wand in his hand.

Once he is convinced that all his fire is gone, Sparky joins the others and begins the search for the fireworks in the galley.

Chest heaving with wrath, nostrils flared with foulness, Khuraargh stumbles back from the ruin he had wrought. Whipping out one of his trusty rags, he cleans his father's blade then returns it to its rightful sheath.

With a knowing, appreciative nod at his tribesmates, he wanders the ship's passages, then kicks down the door to the cabin, or else hacks the hinges through with his man-axe.

Sir Squeeb keeps holding out the items he found as Sparky walks right past him into the boat. "Ohh," he says and looks at his shuffling feet. Fine then, he'll figure out what the thingamabobbers do hisself, that'll show him.

Putting the spoils of war away he heads in and tries to help the search for the fireworks.

Perception: (1d20-1)[12]

[Benson]

The air in this cabin is thick and close, stinking of swamp and sweat, with a thick, glistening layer of mud on the floor and swaths of oily fungus clinging to the walls. Even more dangling decorations of goblin bone and animal-part fetishes hang from the ceiling on lengths of sinew here, and what appears to be a nest made of rags, sticks, mud, and castoff bits of clothing lies against the westernmost wall. But scattered amid the filth and clutter are several exotic-looking man-made objects—including a tantalizing red chest.

Aside from the chest which Khuurargh, Skortch, and Sparky see........the one named Sir Squeeb stumbles upon curious objects in his rifling in the cabin.

Sir Squeeb would come to find decorative if broken junk. Junk scrolls with images depicting colorful serpentine dragons, towering cliffs, delicate humanoid figures, and strange fancy sheds, very burnable and gobbies sure love fire. Last thing his little eyes spy is a bejeweled silver and jade lantern built to look like a coiled dragon, very shiny!

To those who poke their noses in the red chest will find it unlocked.

KHHHHH---

---hnnn? Khuraargh suddenly arrests his swing when he spots that the chest is actually unlocked. Frowning, he stands to one side of it and motions for the others to stand clear, just in case. Holding his man-axe by its very tip, he uses the point of its curved blade to open the red chest...

[Benson]

It was fortunately trap free. There in the chest lay the sought after fireworks all nice and rested on top of each other. The fireworks in the chest consist of 14 Desnan candles, 20 paper candles, and seven skyrockets.

Sparky

"Ooooo," he says looking at the contents of the chest.

[Dienekes]

Sir Squeeb reached for the dragon-lantern but then stopped. On the one hand, he was certain that the activity he was engaging in was looting, which he was reasonably certain was against some part of the knightly code. On the other hand, it was so shiny! So he stopped, and pondered this ethical quandary he found himself in.

On the one hand, you shouldn't just kill things and take their stuff. It was rude. But then again, you shouldn't leave behind shiny things. That was one of the highest laws of goblinhood. But again, knights rise above the laws of goblins to the laws of knights. But suppose someone else came along after him and took the shiny thing! Then what would he do? You can't just let things get stolen. A knight was after all, against such evils as thievery. So it would definitely be best if he took the shiny thing, for its own protection.

And so, satisfied that he was in the right, Sir Squeeb grabbed the shiny things he could carry before heading back to his friends.

Khuraargh makes for the red chest,
But to the boom-loot is beat
Frowning as he sees some
Pieces near-topple
From Squeeb's
Grasp

The scarred goblin points at puddles
And blood-mats and worse
Wet spots

Motions for him to return the lot
To the red chest's safety
Takes some rope
And then ties
The lot
Sure

Then with raised thumbs commends
The red chest back into
Squeeb's keeping

Sparky

Once it was secured by Khuraargh, Sparky says, "Let's get it back home." Grabbing one end of the the chest the small goblin is anxious to be on his way.

[Nixed]

Having been fixated on the chest from the time it opened he snaps out of it as they go to move it. "Time for party for great heroes of Licktoad!"

[Benson]

And so after many hours of traveling through the swamp, our heroes see that Licktoad village is up ahead. It was a long day's adventure but someone had to do it.

[Dienekes]

Sir Squeeb, riding on Noble Steed, charges into the village shouting. "WE DID IT! WE GOT THE WITCH TREASURE!"

Sparky

Whistling as he walks, the young goblin's grin is unmistakable. He triumphantly pumps a fist in the air.

Khuraargh strides tall
Shield bared and hand on father's hilt
Voiceless goblin grins

[Nixed]

Marches in with the others head held high and staying close to the treasures. He's very excited to light off their newly recovered prizes.

[Benson]

As if though they had been waiting, at the Licktoad village entrance stood His Mighty Girthness Chief Rendwattle Gutwad actually walking about on his own two stumpy legs. You know, rather than having some unfortunate goblins carry him on a lift around. Around him were a few other villagers. He was so excited at the return of the heroes and the treasure, that the chief forgot all about how he is supposed to make Slorb do the talking for him in front of villagers on account that 'the words that come out of his mouth are so mighty that they might frighten away all the words in the heads of lesser goblins'.


"Aaaah...youse...youse actually returned.....this is good........hahahah...I win all bets that you return alive....because I make every gobby else bet that you die on journey," His mighty girthness' belly shook as he laughed and pumped a fist in the air.

"Show me...show me fireworks," He ordered of the heroes as he clasped his grubby hands together.
