Default Badass+Funny=The Bivore [3.5, base class, WIP, PEACH]

Now before you read too far into this I would like to thank my friends for coming up with the idea of the Bivore, it has been the most common adjective used to describe characters I have ever heard playing RPG’s with my friends, and this class is my way of spreading the word of this idea.

Note: I see this is not getting much attention, not that I expected it to. I will resume updating the EotB when I see people post here again.

    Echo of the Bivore

    “Duuuurrr!”
-Dur an Echo of the Bivore

To describe what is Bivore is difficult. When used as an adjective it means brutal physical power unsurpassed by any other form of power; it means muscle capable of anything magic is capable of; it also means clumsy and stupid, but with more than enough destructive force to make up for it. When used as a noun it means a creature that is a perfect embodiment of the adjective. It is like Godzilla and The Hulk combined with the brain power and reflexes of a drunk tortoise. When Bivore is used as a proper noun (although you are supposed to capitalize it no matter how it’s used) it means the original Bivore. The original Bivore is basically a deity it appears as a humanoid one or more size categories larger than the largest creature that can perceive it with a str and con equal to the strongest creature it has encountered squared, and it is immune to anything it cannot comprehend with its limited intelligence (any spell, spell-like, supernatural, some extraordinary, and some ordinary effects) it is studded with weapons like a missile launcher embedded in its shoulder and a Volkswagen bug jammed on his hand named the Power Fist. Now to describe this class it is a creative way to play a dumb hill giant barbarian, but as a higher tier with more options, not to say you couldn’t fluff it differently.

    Abilities
The EotB is well suited with high strength and constitution (well duh!), but all other stats aren’t to be forgotten. Dexterity is also useful because only a true Bivore does not need to be accurate or dodge to win fights, and other stats although they shadow in comparison to strength and constitution may come in handy on rare occasions.

    Races
Creatures of the giant type are often naturally grow into EotB, but any strong race may hear the calling of the Bivore. It is possible for miniscule weaklings to aspire to join, but it is a great hardship that kills many in the training.

    Alignment
EotB are usually chaotic for many reasons, they find no law above them, they follow their gut instincts, and don’t let their rage calm with reason. Then again it is possible for an EotB to be lawful with a certain attitude where they follow self made laws, like never back down from a challenge, might makes right, and do your duty or die trying.

    Weapon and armor proficiencies
An EotB proficiencies vary and are gained through Bivore powers. There tend to be few weapons an EotB can wield, but if they practice to many weapons they will forget how to use the ones they have not used in a while.

    Path or the Bivore
Not just anyone can become an EotB it takes brawn, but unexpectedly it also takes a brain. Not a good one, but you must have strong willpower and bravery ether through stubbornness or stupidity. Upon your first level you must pick a path to follow if you are to be anything like a Bivore, this may be limiting in roleplaying, but a creative person should have no trouble crating a brute with a detailed personality. Below are the paths you may select from, each path has a unique ability that cannot be gained by anyone from another path that will advance with your level.

Regardless of what path is chosen an EotB will never use magic, it is for the weak. All spells, spell trigger magic items and spell-like abilities are taboo for an EotB with the exception of racial spell-like abilities or any spell from the strength domain. If they are ever in a situation where someone forces them to use magic they must attempt to exact revenge as soon as it is convenient.

    Spoiler
    Show
    Obliviously optimistic
An oblivious optimist is a being too dull to comprehend the dangers around him and acts without knowing consequence, but sometimes what you don’t know won’t hurt you. With this path an EotB gains a bonus equal to one half it’s level (rounded down) on all saves against mind effecting affects, fear, and sensory dependent effects.

    Clumsy crusher
The clumsy crusher is an accident waiting to happen, when it stumbles structures crumble, and just wait to see it hit something intentionally. With this path whenever an EotB receives a non-self-inflicted attack penalty he gains a bonus equal to twice that penalty to damage on his first successful attack next round.

    Reckless ragger
A reckless ragger is a massive body with a one tracked mind and soul forged of hate, it will stop at nothing to destroy those who anger it and it may just kill you anyways. With this path an EotB gains the ability to enter a rage like a barbarian twice per day, and if it already has the ability to rage it may rage two additional times per day. However when it enters a rage it cannot end it prematurely unless there are no hostile creatures left.

    Hulking horror
Hulking horror’s are said to seem the most like the Bivore, their appearance, their roar, and the smell of their soiled pants all make people soil theirs. With this path an EotB gains a bonus equal to (str mod+con mod-cha mod-size bonus to attack and AC (note: Subtracting the bonus of a large or larger creature is subtracting a negitive number which is effectively adding))/2 on intimidate checks instead of adding the cha mod. They also gain a +1 to will saves against fear every 3 levels.

    Huge n' hungry
Huge n' hungry EotB are described just by there name they are huge and hungry. With this path an EotB gains a 2 additional HP per level, but there movement speed is reduced by 5ft. and they take a -1 penalty on climb, jump, swim, and tumble checks.

    Powers of the Bivore
Bivore powers can be the most powerful weapon, but also a versatile tool that allows them to keep up with smarter and more agile folk. Many underestimate an EotB thinking them only capable of smashing things, but they perform baffling feats with their strength that seem impossible to the weak. A few high end powers even seem that they must be magic, but the critics are wrong and even the laws of physics bend as if it were a were a adamantine bar being twisted in the Bivores massive hands.
Bivore powers mechanically work like feats they all have a prerequisite and an effect, but they can't be taken more than one time unless stated otherwise and do not actually count as feats. EotB may select one for each point of strength modifier it has as well as one each level. Below in the next post is the full listing available to all EotB.

    Bonus feat
At 2nd level and every 4 levels after the EotB gains a fighter bonus feat or Bivore feat listed below.

    Luck of the Bivore
The fights of Bivores never rely on luck, the Bivore just wins, but they need luck for many other things. At 3rd level once per day an EotB can reroll any skill check after seeing the result, but before knowing if it was successful.

    Toll of the Bivore
At 4th level and every 8 levels after the EotB takes a -1 penalty to Dex or a mental ability score.

    Stench of the Bivore
An EotB smell ranges from stinky to knockout gas giving trackers with the sent ability a +2 bonus when tracking a EotB. However this sent is sickening, at 5th level the EotB controls its bowel movements a number of times per day equal to their con mod. An EotB may let out a loud gurgling fart effecting creatures within 10ft. (or 20ft. if they have sent). To avoid being sickened creatures need to make a fort save DC (5+1/2 level+con mod), and the sickening effect continues as long as they are within range.

    Speed of the Bivore
At 7th level The EotB gains greater speed a number of times per day equal to their con mod. When the EotB is in pursuit of a fleeing target they may increase his base speed by 10 ft until they catch up with the target or lose sight of them.

    Weapons of the Bivore
At 9th level an EotB must select a weapon or set of weapons it owns and is proficient in to focus on with its one tracked mind for the remainder of their life. This weapon does not need to be an “weapon” it could be like the original Bivores Power Fist (a Volkswagen bug crumpled around his fist). The weapons base damage is 1d8 for a light weapon, 1d10 for a one handed weapon, or 2d8 for a two handed weapon the critical is x2 and you chose whether the weapon is slashing, piercing, or bludgeoning. The bond an EotB has with this weapon makes it indestructible although it may appear worn down so repairing will only effect how the weapon looks. The only thing that can truly sunder it is the Supreme sundering Bivore power, or an actual Bivore. As the bond grows so does the weapons power, the weapon is gifted with (1000 x EotB level) GP worth of enchantments, if the EotB dual wields a set of weapons this GP value may be split between them.

    Rage of the Bivore
True Bivores can rage indefinitely, but anyone with the drive can push themselves to rage longer. At 11th level an EotB can rage like a barbarian once per day, or if they already could rage they gain an additional rage per day. However when the duration of the rage expires the EotB may push himself an continue raging and remains conscious even when below -10 HP, but takes 1 temporary str and con damage each round. When ether the str or con reach 1 the rage ends then str and con return to normal and the EotB becomes exhausted.

    Mind of the Bivore
The Bivores mind is simple, simple to the point where enchanters can’t find anything to control. At 13th level the EotB becomes Immune to all mind affecting effects that do not instruct it to attack things. If a spell lets you charm or dominate the EotB the spell ends the moment you instruct them to stop attacking.

    Might of the Bivore
The Bivore is always the strongest thing in combat, if another person joins the fray the Bivore will always be stronger then it. At 15th level the EotB may grow more muscle just to outdo the strongest opponent, once per day the EotB may increase his str and con to become double that of the foes with the highest str and con this lasts for the entire round then the EotB str and con return to normal.

    Size of the Bivore
You never want to be the little guy Bivores need to step all over their opponents to show them who’s boss. At 17th level the EotB gains the power to grow one size category larger than the largest opponent once per day for a number of rounds equal to their con modifier.

    Soul of the Bivore
After a lifetime of training an EotB matches the tone of the echo that the original Bivore shouted on its death and becomes one with beefiness. At 19th level if the Bivore dies 1d10 days later it takes over a new body of a different beefy creature in the world. Effectively the EotB is reincarnated as the druid spell, but the new creature must be of at least the same size and the EotB retains all its ability scores except the mental scores are all 1 lower.

    Reverberation of echoes
These echoes of the original Bivore are faint, and as impressed as an EotB might be shouting war cries he has heard in his head, and as mighty as they sound they no longer resemble that of that original. At 20th level the EotB becomes immune to ability damage or drain on str and con, and when a mental ability score is reduced to 0 the EotB may still react to danger and fight, however they can’t do much else they no longer can distinguish between friend and foe, and will otherwise act as if sleep walking.

Default Re: The powers [3.5 base class WIP]

Reserving this post for Bivore powers. Estimated amount of finished content 30%, but feel free to suggest something.

    Bivore Powers

    Example
This is where a Bivore powers description would be.
Prerequisite: These are the abilities needed to take the Bivore Power
Effect: This is where the effect of the Bivore power is written.

    Formidable fists
A simplistic weapon, but a favored weapon of the Bivore. Fists are the most popular weapon among the EotB and arguably one of the best.
Effect: With this power an EotB gains proficiency with its fists and gains improved unarmed strike.

    Weapons of the wild
EotB need to hunt and so it is common for EotB to wield spears and clubs because they are conveniently easy to craft in the wilderness or there is no access to better technology.
Effect: With this power an EotB gains proficiency with short spears, half spears, javalins, clubs, great clubs, quarter staves, and hide armor. In addition craft (weaponsmithing) and craft (armorsmithing) is added as a class skill, but must only be used to craft things he is proficient with.

    Ingenious improviser
As the true Bivores have shown nothing is to large and unwieldy to be a weapon, and with training an EotB can use most any object as a weapon.
Effect: With this power an EotB gains proficiency with improvised weapons. A light weapon for a medium sized creature is 1d4, a one handed weapon is 1d6, and a two handed weapon is 1d8, all weapons have a x2 critical.

    War-trained wrecker
EotB that grew up in civilized land often have a hard time avoiding the national militaries efforts to recruit them. They are praised and paid heavily, but do not get the discipline provided by strict drill sergeant do to the chance they may lash out and kill them.
Effect: With this power an EotB gains proficiency with two simple weapons, light armor, and shields or two martial weapons and medium armor or one melee martial weapon and heavy armor.

    Ironclad imbecile
EotB are made to withstand tons of punishment and armor helps, but it’s a problem when you go through a suit of full plate in each week. Even though this may be hard figure out for someone with the intellect of a 5 year-old the solution is to get thicker armor.
    Prerequisite: War-trained wrecker
Effect: With this power an EotB gains proficiency an exotic armor or shield.

    Armored athlete
If you understand how stupid the average EotB is you can just imagine how complicated donning and removing armor is. It is likely that once an EotB puts on a suit durable armor they will wear it for years; this makes them very use to traveling in its armor.
Prerequisite: War-trained wrecker, endurance, con 17, level 2
Effect: With this power an EotB reduces armor penalties to speed by 5ft.

    Armor add-ons
The armor of a true Bivore is not like normal armor at all, and now you take after the Bivore. Your armor now has chains and scraps of extra metal all over it for inefficient extra protection.
    Prerequisite: War-trained wrecker, con 17 level 2
Effect: With this power an EotB gains a +1 armor bonus and a -1 armor check penalty and if this power is taken a second time it increases the armor penalty to speed by 5ft, but all of this powers effects apply to just one set of armor.

    Metal monster
After patching armor together with scraps of metal and embedding rocks into weakened areas you now look like a pile of metal.
Prerequisite: Ironclad imbecile, Armor add-ons, level 4, endurance, con 19
Effect: With this power an EotB may gain Bivore armor from the new items section.

    Super sundering
Taking a time to learn the secrets behind a Bivores braking potential will lead to great power, and later will lead to the power to brake things impenetrable.
    Prerequisite: str 15
Effect: With this power an EotB gains a +1 to attack and damage rolls while sundering.

    Superb sundering
After much smashing you chip away at walls defenses until it cannot stand up to your blows.
Prerequisite: Super sundering, Power attack, str 19, level 2
Effect: With this power an EotB weakens an objects hardness by 1 every time the successfully deal damage to it, but only once per round.

    Supernatural sundering
After much smashing you find sundering magic is possible.
Prerequisite: Superb sundering, improved sunder, str 21, level 4
Effect: With this power an EotB gains the ability to sunder any item with an enhancement bonus as if it were its mundane counterpart or an artifact as if its enhancement bonus was +5, useable once per minute.

    Spell sundering
Spells shatter as they suffer your superior strength.
Prerequisite: Supernatural sundering, str 23, level 8
Effect: With this power an EotB gains the ability to once per hour sunder any solid barrier spell. If hp and hardness is not given like with a wall of force it has an hp of spell level x caster level and no harness.

    Supreme sundering
If it can be created, it can be destroyed.
Prerequisite: spell sundering, str 25, level 16
Effect: With this power an EotB gains the ability to once per day sunder any object that can be made, in a single blow. If an object is supposed to be unbreakable it is still susceptible unless it existed when time began and cannot be recreated. After using this power the EotB takes damage equal to its level.

You push objects you could push or drag 5ft., lift off the ground 10ft. If you can lift it over your head heavy loads are moved 15ft., medium loads 20ft. and light loads 25ft., but if the object is rooted in the ground subtract 5ft.

    Roaring rush
You charge at anything like an angered bull, whatever the target.
Prerequisite: Crashing charge, Skill focus (intimidate), str 21, level 4
Effect: With this power an EotB may make a bull rush attempt and an intimidate check as a full round action. If both are successful your target uses his next move action to move away from you in the direction you bull rushed them, but because you are no longer pushing them the target will flee around obstacles.

    Rapid rush
You charge as fast as you can to push your foes back.
Prerequisite: Ruining rush, Run, str 23, level 8

    Thunder Thumping Buddy Dub
This sludge is an herb refined in the digestive track of a titan, it is a narcotic so powerful it could satisfy a Bivore or kill a mortal man.
Effect: this smoke is a harmful substance to most creatures and acts like an inhaled poison initially dealing 4d4 con damage, then dealing 1d4 int damage as secondary damage, and the DC is 19. However, for those of exceptional fortitude that have a con of 30 or more can exhale the smoke on weaker opponents like a breath weapon as a standard action in the shape of a cone at a range of 5ft. per size category above small. To a user with 30 Con the user simply feels a head rush that causes a -2 penalty to attack, AC, reflex saves, and Dex checks. Each small bag of Buddy dub will provide 5d3 uses of the breath weapon divided by the number of sizes the smoker is above small.

    New Template

    Bivore

Its fists are strong enough to crush a planet and delicate enough to crush a butterfly. Alternate universe's Bivores have shattered time and space, ended worlds, slain gods, and sometimes accidentally slain themselves. What will you do though considering you may not remember it longer than 6 seconds.

    Creating A Bivore

"Bivore" is an inherited template that can be added to any corporeal creature with 20+ levels in Echo of the Bivore that has the highest Str score of any other creature with levels in EotB (referred to hereafter as the base creature).

A Bivore uses all the base creature’s statistics and special abilities except as noted here.

Size and Type: The creature’s type is unchanged, and it's size increases by one category by default and increases further to be one size category larger than the largest opponent the Bivore can perceive.
Hit Dice: Increase base creature’s racial HD to d12 and its number of RHD by 1 to a minimum of 10.
Speed: Same as base creature +5 ft.
Armor Class: Natural armor improves by +5.
    Attack: Same as base creature.
Full Attack: Same as base creature.
Damage: A Bivores melee and thrown weapon damage increases by 2 size categories.
Special Attacks: A Bivore retains all the special attacks of the base creature.
Special Qualities: A Bivore has all the special qualities of the base creature, plus darkvision out to 60 feet, low-light vision, DR 50/-, FH 10, and all Bivore powers it did not already have. A Bivore has immunity to physical effects (except ones it uses on itself), mind-affecting spells or supernatural effects, and effects that copy or reduce power of EotB class features.
Abilities: Increase from the base creature as follows: Str +4+x, Con +2+x, Int -6. Wis -2, Cha -4 (x is equal infinite as long as he is not targeting himself with one of his own Str or Con based abilities).
Skills: A Bivore loses all skill points.
    Environment: Any land.
Challenge Rating: Same as the base creature +25 (minimum 32).
Alignment: Same as the base creature.
    Level Adjustment: -

I'm just wondering why a fighter class is only proficient with one weapon. Even barbarians typically get more than that. Just saying.

Good question and I shall type this up above as well. Barbarians are uncultured, but not stupid. Bivores are the stupid ones, if they practice with to many weapons they will forget how to use any weapon they haven't swung in a day.

"Bivore" = "One who eats two things", compare "Omnivore" = "One who eats anything", "Carnivore" = "One who eats meat". Or is this word derived from some other source entirely?

In any case, this class probably does achieve its design goals.

Well the word Bivore has no relation to its Greek/Roman root words, but I actually plan to add some powers that let the Echo of the Bivore swallow opponents.
