"Heh, I can't resist the sirens call of 'free', but that's what everyone say right before you sacrifice them to your gods, correct?" Dena asks, waggling her eyebrows as she looks at Bramwell.

"Nah, no sacrificing unless you call a Hangover one. In that case we sacrifice a lot." Bramwell says with a wince. "Besides, we don't worship gods. They're just two very extraordinary beings."

Standing outside the Thanksmas Village is Julie, wearing a festive red strapless dress with white fur trim around the neckline and hem, along with a pair of black leather riding boots and snow white lace stockings, the tops of which are hidden by the dress.

Rather extravagant attire just for going out on a shopping trip, but it's been a very long while since she has dressed up and gone out on her own, so it can probably be forgiven. She appears to be waiting for someone in particular, since she's eying the door and occasionally glancing to a silver watch wrapped loosely around one of her slim wrists.

Kate will hurry up to Julie, a bit flustered. She's in her normal body, wearing a winter coat, gloves, snow boots, and a scarf. "Sorry I'm a bit late," Kate says as she puts down the hood and begins to unwind the scarf. "It's really starting to pick up out there."

Julie shakes her head, faintly amused by how much Kate is bundled up, "You should have called and told me it was looking nasty out sug. I'm sure Wally would have been more than happy to give you a lift. He's been mentally moaning about missing his favorite test-subject-I-mean-prank-victim lately. His thoughts, not mine." Begs the question of how Julie got here while ignoring the weather, but she has her ways.

"So how has life been treating you? Looking a little frazzled if you ask me." To say the least, but Julie has some tiny measure of tact withering away among her other social skills that she can put to use when the situation calls for it.

"You know the other day when that tent appeared in Inside?" Even if Julie wasn't in inside when that happened, it was probably on the news. Waldorf would have noticed at the very least. "Guess who was at ground zero."

Kate doesn't know whether she prefers the idea of being a "prank victim" or "test subject". Of course, with Waldorf there's not a lot of difference.

Julie blinks, a tent? "I didn't, actually. So the circus came to town or something? I haven't really been on top of Inside news lately, since this is Prism and Scylla's first Thanksmas I've had to spend pretty much all of the past month learning what that means and how to make it special for them. Enough about that though, we can talk thanksmas stuff while we're shopping for presents. What happened with a tent to put you in such a state?" Julie starts walking, keeping her head fixed on Kate as she ambles towards the food court. Because of the delays it's just a bit after lunch, so some food wouldn't be too much of a stretch, and Kate looks like she needs a cup of something hot to warm herself.

"Ah... yeah, can't really blame you. The only reason I know about it is because I was at ground zero. Okay, so it started when Eris, the goddess of chaos, let Flora Madhowl, who you probably don't know about, suffice to say he's a slave in this, loose. Maybe it was specifically after me, maybe I was just there at the time and she saw me and decided to send him after me because she could."

"There was chaos, I panicked, there was a giant cannon made of wands, and I think reality broke? Not sure about that, but there was a rip noise, a giant circus tent appeared, and things stopped making sense, so..."

Yeah, that's something of a logical conclusion.

"Never heard of a Flora, no, but I know Eris... not personally, but she's caused havoc around most of Hades at one point or another, so we've met. Can't say it was a pleasant experience either, so I get where you're coming fro- wait, did you just say reality broke? Is there someone dealing with that now? Because that seems like a pretty darn big problem. Like, one that some professionals should probably know of." Julie has not had good experiences with rips in existence in her 600 years of living, considering the only one she'd ever encountered was made by a Planeswalker intent on destroying an entire world.

"Mm... that makes sense. I don't know what actually happened, and I don't really know who to tell, though. Maybe I'll tell Cos later. He's probably the closest I can get to someone that can help."

Having a hotline to a god is helpful for things like that, yes. It's a good thing that Julie brought that up, because Kate hadn't even thought of that.

"Cos? Oh yes, your god friend. I was thinking more like Remnant, but that'll probably help too." Julie admits, ordering a couple of candy-cane flavored hot chocolates from a drink stall and handing one to Kate.

"Anyone in particular you're buying for? I know most people just go to the Thanksmas place and get something from Santa, but I thought indulging in a bit of commercialism this year for the twins' sake might be nice."

Julie. Got to get a gift for Julie. Remember that. "I haven't even thought about it yet. Truthfully, it hadn't even occurred to me that I had disposable income until you called. I've gotten so used to just using what I need to and putting the rest away 'in case of an emergency' I haven't ever considered buying gifts... but now that I've actually looked at my savings, I realize that chances are no emergency is going to be taht expensive. Of course, a good reason I have so much money is that I haven't had to re-make my wardrobe everytime I've been changed. I really appreciate that."

Kate appreciates it in any case, but now that she realizes just how much money Julie is saving her she appreciates it a little bit more.

"I really should start charging for my tailoring services, but I don't know if I could keep doing it if it became a job. That and I don't really need the money, and I've got too much to do taking care of the twins to consider holding down a job while Eric is doing his thing at the loan office. I guess that means you'll keep getting your alterations for free for the foreseeable future." Julie remarks as she sips her hot chocolate carefully.

Kate also sips hers and thinks for a bit. Sophie (the spider), Julie, Eric, the twins, umm...

She knows she's forgetting someone. Mintbalm? What do you give a pixie as a gift? Cos would be even more impossible to shop for.

For that matter, she doesn't have any good gift ideas in the first place. What do you buy toddlers? Are they even still-oh yeah.

"How are Prism and Scylla? It's been a while since I saw them."

"Big, and growing more every day. I've made them dressed that I can let out the hems and seams of a bit every night to account for how much they grow each day. As for their personalities, Scylla has learned every word in my dictionary now, and when she found my clock radio and figured out how it worked, she started memorizing whole songs and mimicking them perfectly on her own, instruments and all. Eric and I have bet on when she's going to start trying to wake us up like that, but I'm really happy she's taken to music so well. Prism is quiet, as always, but she's so used to being naturally empathic that she makes up for talking with just letting you know how she feels directly. She's taken to painting, and I've pretty much let her have free reign on the inside of the cabin's color scheme. This dress was originally green if you'll believe that." Julie lifts the hem slightly for inspection, revealing that it's red inside and out.

"She oh-so-quietly informed me that green wasn't Thanksmassy enough, and I have to agree."

"Lying again. What sort've girl did I marry?" Adir shakes his head in shame. That inquisitive gleam never leaves his eyes, howeveer. "Now what was this about you and Cessie?"

"Man, I don't see you for a day and it's like I miss a week. And when I miss out on a week, I straight up have to get to know them again."

And other people think their kids grow fast.

Things like when you men do something sweet, or if we have some kinds of plans like wearing one of Cessie's special dresses, or sometimes we'll talk about what the actual sex is like."

"Ugh, but that sounds so boring," Adir rolls his eyes, conceding defeat on this point. Not like he really expected the girls to be worse than his brothers when it comes to dirty stuff. "I guess with Cessie involved I couldn't ask for much. I'm sure it's all very tame."

"Well..." Sakura looks to the side sheepishly and then leans in conspiratorially. "Would you believe me if I said I was the modest one when it comes to this sort of thing?"

"What else would we call ourselves? An Order that's composed of over three other Orders?" Bramwell asks with a raised eyebrow. "And even though we know they aren't gods, we still Follow and Worship them and their beliefs as best as we know how."

"I would say you're full of it," Adir says, arching an eyebrow at the dryad skeptically. He shakes his head. "Really, Sakura, you've gotta try harder than that."

"Alright then, believe whatever you want." Sakura pushes the cart forward again and returns her attention to the shelves. She prooobably shouldn't have told Adir that. It's so hard to keep her big mouth closed with him.

"You were joking, right...?" Adir keeps walking, averting his gaze awkwardly. There was just no way. "Sakura?"

"Cessie will kill me if she finds out I told you that, so keep your mouth closed." Sakura turns to put a finger on his lips. "That means no teasing her about it or anything like that."

"Aaaah!" Mimi is more than a little startled as the ground rushes away from her and everything else seems to press in close. Holy crap, what's going on?! She takes a step backward, but unfortunately the counter she was standing on is much smaller too. Her foot hits open air and suddenly she's tumbling off the counter. She flutters her wings, but she has no opportunity to figure out why that's not working so well before she hits the floor with a thump. The pixie groans. At least she managed to twist so she never landed on her wings.

"Ah! Miss! Are you alright?" the shopkeeper said upon hearing the clatter the now human sized pixie caused by her fall. He would scuttle over and, after a brief moment of checking his hands for which had the least ink stains on them, would offer one to help Mimi back up on her feet.

"I suppose it's my fault, though. Didn't suggest to be standing elsewhere, I think. Or maybe I should have just mentioned that.. No.. Anyway, I hope you aren't hurt, are you?" the shopkeeper blathered. He hoped that this was just a minor accident and would be seen as such as he really didn't need someone to raise a fuss over some incident that happened because of his merchandise in his store, after all.

"I... aw, alright," Adir says. He's been trying to be nicer to Cessie after that night at their house. "Man, you think you know somebody..."

Mimi accepts the hand up. "I'm okay, I'm okay." She rubs her elbow where she smacked it on the floor. She blinks a few times and looks around. "I'm big." She looks at the rings.

Sakura glances back at Adir and laughs. "Me and Cessie are best friends, we tell each other all kinds of stuff. You and Harnel get left out of the loop." She faces forward to conceal her anticipation of his reaction to that.

"Awww. C'mooon." Adir whines, ears falling dramatically. The fact that he's still smiling doesn't help the effect. "What sorta things would you have to keep secret from me? Well, that I don't already know." Really, Sakura just keeps givin' em away.

"So, so many things, my dear. I've told you way too much already. Cessie wouldn't be happy at all." She winces dramatically at the thought. Just as long as she doesn't find out the latest. <.<
