    Default The Witch: Spontaneous nature caster. (3.5/PF WIP PEACH)

    This is a class for my homebrew setting, and hopefully the wonderful playground can help me!

    Game Rule Information
    Witches have the following game statistics.

    Abilities: Charisma determines how powerful a spell a witch can cast, how many spells she can cast per day, and how hard those spells are to resist (see Spells, below). Charisma, Wisdom, and Dexterity, are important for many of the witch’s class skills.

    Alignment: Any neutral.

    Hit Die: d4.

    Class Skills:
    The witch’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Appraise (Int), Bluff (Cha), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Decipher Script (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Disguise (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Gather Information (Cha), Knowledge (Arcana, History, Nature, The Planes) (Int), Listen (Wis), Perform (Cha), Profession (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), Speak Language (n/a), and Spellcraft (Int).
    Skill Points at 1st Level: (2 + Int modifier) × 4.
    Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 2 + Int modifier.

    Class Features:
    Weapon and armor proficiency: A witch is proficient with all simple weapons. They are not proficient with any armor or shield.

    Spells: A witch casts nature spells (the same type of spells available to druids and rangers), which are drawn from the witch spell list (below). She can cast any spell she knows without preparing it ahead of time, the way a wizard or cleric must. The witch’s spells known are on the table below.

    To learn or cast a spell, a witch must have a Charisma score equal to at least 10 + the spell level (Cha 10 for 0-level spells, Cha 11 for 1st level spells, and so forth). The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a witch’s spell is 10 + the spell level + the witch’s Charisma modifier. Like other spellcasters, a witch can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day. In addition, she receives bonus spells per day if she has a high Charisma score.

    Familiar: A witch of 1st level automatically obtains a familiar in exactly the same manner as a sorcerer. Most witches choose the raven, cat, or toad familiars, but there are no restrictions.

    Brew Potion: At 3rd level a witch gain the brew potion feat as a bonus feat.

    Offensive Brew: At 5th level a witch learns how to imbue an offensive spell into a potion, which she may then throw. This follows all of the normal rules for creating a potion, except when an offensive spell is chosen it may be thrown as a ranged touch attack (15ft range), on a hit the target suffers the effects of the spell. Alternately, the witch may convince someone that it is any other potion, with a successful bluff check. The witch is considered proficient with potion vials, and therefore does not provoke an attack of opportunity while throwing one.

    Familiar Transformation: At 7th level your familiar undergoes a transformation, it retreats into an egg-like form for 24 hours, once it emerges you gain the effects of the Improved Familiar feat, selecting any familiar available to you.
    If your improved familiar dies or is destroyed, follow the normal rules for regaining a familiar, then the familiar goes through the above transformation.

    Expert Brewer: At 9th level the witch’s brewing skills increase; she may now make two potions a day, instead of one, and may make potions (offensive and normal) of up to 5th level spells.

    Speak with Spirit: Starting at 12th level a witch may, once per day, draw a spirit from its resting plane to her. The spirit must be of an intelligent being, and share a language with the witch. A witch may summon a random spirit with loose guidelines (“a soldier from the sacking of Thiel-nas”, for example) or a specific person, providing the witch has something the spirit possessed once in life (a ring, sword, helm, cloak, or the like). Once the spirit appears the witch may ask the spirit questions, the spirit may answer truthfully, it may attempt to lie, or it may simply refuse to answer. The spirit is stuck there for a number of rounds equal to the witch’s charisma modifier, after that time the spirit may return to where it was with a free action, and the witch may do so with a move action.

    Third Eye: At 16th level the witch gains a magical third eye in the middle of her forehead, once per day with this eye as a standard action the witch may duplicate the effects of the spell Discern Location with a caster level equal to your class level.

    All-Seeing Eye: At level 20 a witch's third eye develops into its true form, granting the ability to duplicate the effects of True Seeing once per day with a caster level equal to your class level.

    It looks like a fairly interesting, very low Tier-2 class, but I do see one or two issues:

    Skills: Personally, I'd drop Tumble and Use Magic Device from the skill list, and I'd seriously drop the points-per-level to 2+Int from 4+Int. Tumble and Use Magic Device don't really fit with the "sneaky, social-based caster" theme you seem to be working towards, and the class doesn't seem like it needs the skill points to function, since it already has a decent spell list.

    Also, I think you should consider giving the class a capstone ability of some kind, like true seeing x/times a day, keeping with the Third Eye theme of information gathering.

    Other than that it looks pretty good.
    If brute force isn't working, that just means you're not using enough of it.

    When in doubt, set something on fire. If not in doubt, set something on fire anyway.

    I forgot about the skills, I modified this class just before posting it here, and forgot to double check the skills. As for the capstone True Seeing 1/day seems decent, but Ive been wrong before.
