Re: Grandpre Academy - Ashe [4E]
Sel'than has sacrificed by a priest of Bane and his spirit was trapped in the altar until my companions and I were able to free him. The heirlooms were stolen many years ago by a clan of corrupt dwarves, these gloves were just recovered from the body of a goblin slain in battle at fort du-cal.

Re: Grandpre Academy - Ashe [4E]
DM
The elf look sad as you mention Sel'than's fate.
He listen to your explanation and say,
"Fort-Du-Col? Never heard of that place. Is it near Ter'Yav forest? How did our family prevail without our guidance?"
The elf seem to realise something you've said,
"Sorry I forgot. You are not really part of the Natura's family. Still, you could summon me, which means you've been named as a rightful weilder of our family heirloom. So Sel'Than spirit ask you to recover and marked you as part of our family, right? What else did he tell you about our heirloom?"
The elf seem to suddenly realise how rude he may be and say bowing,
"I am, or to be more precise, was Vil’Khan Natura, Priest of Dol Dorn. Well met Ashe."
After his late introduction, he await for Ashe to fill him in on what he knows.

Re: Grandpre Academy - Ashe [4E]
SpoilerBloody hell, I don't remember what we learned about that forest, though I do remember the name coming up.
Same goes for what Sel'than told me about the items.

Re: Grandpre Academy - Ashe [4E]
SpoilerLol. well I cant tell you much, as I am not sure what I actually told you (Sel'than memory had huges holes in it heheh).
Well one thing for sure is that Ter'yav Forest is where the NAtura lives (chec map). The live in the capital there.
About the items, he probably did not tell you much beside they were his family relic and that he could speak with his ancestors, whos spirit are contained in.

Re: Grandpre Academy - Ashe [4E]
The fort is quite a ways to the south of Ter'Yav, at the pass through the mountains leading to Bord-eau. Sel'than was unable to provide much in the way of details about the heirlooms.
SpoilerAh, so Fenris is basically at the edge of the forest of Ter'Yav.... Ashe is now more inclined to accept said mission, lol.

Vil'khan seem a little surprised,
"How come Sel'than did not tell you much? I'd think that by giving that quest and Branding you as one of us, he would tell you more, that yo'd want to know more..."
The elven ghost priest scratch his chin and say,
"Well, our family relics are some equipments that were made by Abri’Thiel, one of our ancestors. He was a powerful mage and created this equipment set to protect our family leader, but also so we can keep our knowledges. The family gear contain soul stones and some enchantments to be able to use them, as we are doing now."
The elf point at the gem in the pair of gloves you are wearing.
"To make this simple, upon our death, family leaders spirits doesnt go to the afterlife, but remains in this world and with a ritual, our souls are stored into the item set. This way, the next generation can communicate and use their ancestor knowledges, advices and powers in case of needs. Abri’Thiel was the first leader to possess the set, I was the 6th generation. With each generation, the items set is growing stronger. Within a few generation, we did manage to secure ourselves a strong position in the king's court , as one of the two strongest families."
The elven face look sad as he add,
"Well that is how it was the last time I was summoned. But now, with the Sel'than dead and the heirloom scattered, I have no idea how is faring our family anymore. Are you from Yarten? Do you know if we still are in a good position there? Also, what year is it now? I dont see time go by anymore."
SpoilerBTW, dont worry too much that you cant remember everything we got covered before.
It is actually one of the reason for this scene... so I see what you remember adn so I put you up to speed with what I need you to remember and add on what comes next.
You also got one of the Family hierloom now. I'll update the frist post to reflect this.

Re: Grandpre Academy - Ashe [4E]
Sel'than was unable to tell me much as there are holes in his memory resulting form the trials his spirit endured before I was able to safely store it in a soul stone.
The year is currently 1500.
No, I am not from Yarten and can not tell you of your families standing in that city at this time.

Re: Grandpre Academy - Ashe [4E]
DM
The elf face flush as you tell him today's year and he says,
"Wow, quite some time elasped since I was last summoned. Last time it was year 487...",
Vil'khan think for a moment and nod adding in a sad tone,
"Well that explain Sel'than situation I guess. He did take on the ritual to prevent his soul to move on. But usually, the soul is quickly anchored to the appropriate item quickly after. Having your soul roaming free for long, or even worst taken as prisonner by a Bane priest as you said, sure could affect its integrity."
"Well if you have the chance to look how the family is faring, it would be a good thing." The old elf pause then add, "But I'd be careful on how what you tell them, if I were you. Remember that to them, you are not a Natura. I do recognise you as one because I know you could not summon me if you had not been granted the title, but they wont. I have no real way of showing them, at least not until you actually retreive all the items, as only one heir can actually use them. You'd either have to die or give up the title to pass them on.
So, while I would like our bloodline to retreive the items, the fact that 1100 or so have gone by kinda tells me they either gave up on the family heirloom or that they are extinct, or nearly so. I'd prefer the heirloom to stay in your hands until you succeed, since you are actually seeking to assemble it, rathen than to end in our family vault."
The old priest is serious as he tells you this advice. He add,
"If there anything else I can help you with?"

Is there any way to perform the proper rites to have Sel'than's spirit stored correctly to allow you to communicate with him?

Re: Grandpre Academy - Ashe [4E]
DM
The old elf nod,
"I think it could be done. You might have to free his spirit from the stone you've stored him in, then do the ritual to incorporate him into our family heirloom. Still this require the full set to actually do so, at least to my knowledge and I really doubt it would repair the damages to his soul, but at least he will be with us. Maybe you could just alter the item set to incorporate the soul stone you've place his soul in, but that I am not sure can really be done. When you get the helm, Abri’Thiel can tell you more about your options, he might even have a way to do it without having the full item set. He is the one who create it after all.
Also, we cannot really communicate among ourselves, even when the set is complete. You see, when we are not talking with you like this, we are," Vil'khan seem to think, searching for the right words, "in some kind of sleeping state. I do feel you presence, and should feel the presence of the others, but it is hazzy and dreamlike. That is actually why I cannot say how time ellapse and why we actually remain as we were when we died. We cannot really evolve and gain more knowledge since in the stone, we are in isolated and cannot feel time. For us to speak among ourselve, require you to summon more than one of us at the same time and that will tax you own strenght if you decide to do so. You will also end up taxing your strenght if you summon us too much during a day or for too long. I'd say that the relic magic can power about half an hour of summoning during a day. It might be less for you since you dont have all the items."

Passive perception (Ic 3 - post 1072)
As you go along the fallen celling, you note something peculiar about the tip of the stone (-D43). There seem to be some worked stone there, a flat stone that look like some floor or something like that.
Spoilernote that you are underwater right now.. cannot talk.Last edited by Dekkah; 2013-12-03 at 08:11 PM.

Vil'khan during short rest (IC 3 - Post 1089) :
Once you start calming yourself to nurse your wounds, you realsie that the elven cleric spirit is looking at you. Once you noted him, the elf speaks,
"Are you alright? You seem to have found some battle here. Does any of your friends are in imminent danger and need some healing?"
The elf look only at you, which reminds you that he does not see anything else around.

Re: Grandpre Academy - Ashe [4E]
Vil'khan during short rest (IC 3 - Post 1091)
The elven ghost nod,
"Well, since the battle is done and I guess he will survive, you better simply threat his wounds normally. But remember that you can always call upon my power."
The Dol Doran cleric seem to recall something and add,
"Wait, I keep forgetting you havent been trained to be the owner of this relics. Well know that you can call upon my help during battle, or at any time actually. I can lend you my healing powers to heal yourself or your allies, but calling upon this will cost you, it will tire you. And the more you call upon our power without resting, every ancestors can grant you some of their powers, the more it will cost you."
SpoilerMechanicly, here is how this works.
1 - Each ancestors grant a different power (Vil'Khan let you use Healing word cleric power -you'll have to ask other what they grant when you find them )
2 - To use a power, you have to pay 1 surge + 1 Surge for each time you used such a power since your last short or extended rest. (So the first time in a combat cost you 1 surge, second 2 surge, 3rd cost 3, etc.)
3 - You can use the same power multiples times if you wish or different powers, but you are restricted by any other rules of that power (healing word cannot be used more than twice in a combat, and once per turn only)

SpoilerNOt sure how your force enemy forced reroll power work, but UW will hit you one of his standard action melee attack (27 VS Fort)... will you want to force the reroll (he will play before UQ that will have delayed) or do you let him hit you?
I assume it trigger on "an enemy hit you" so you dont know what is the damage and stuff yet when you choose. If I am wrong tell me.
