Questions about Divine Oracle and Nightmare Spinner
I'm building an ECL 12 character because I'm getting tired of my blaster wizard.
At the moment I have Wizard 5/Nightmare Spinner 5/Divine Oracle 2. Wizard ist Focused Specialist (Necromancy) and has the Skeletal Minion familiar replacement.
The idea was to have a retired army officer ("special" forces) that used fear effects and Command Undead to fight against orc tribes, working for an orc-besieged city state.
I banned Evocation, Enchantment and Abjuration. Now I have two questions:
Nightmare Spinner grants me extra illusion spells for every spell level, just like specializing in the illusion school. RAW, would this work, even if I banned Illusion? I miss abjuration, but like invisibility...
Divine Oracle grants access to the Oracle domain (some divination spells). A Wizard does not have Cleric Domain spell slots - would Divine Oracle give me those spell slots? The PrC description specifically says it was designed for divine _and_ arcane casters. If yes, would these spells cast as divine spells (some of them are pure domain spells)?

Re: Questions about Divine Oracle and Nightmare Spinner
No. You get the slots, and you have to put Illusions in them, but you can't prepare or cast illusions, so you can't really use the slots. Not a smart idea.
Consult your copy of Complete Divine, specifically the page at the VERY start of the PrC chapter. It goes over exactly what happens to various types of casters. For a prepared caster like a wizard, you would have to learn the spells (generally as one of your 2/level spells), and then you can prepare and cast them from your wizard slots as if they were arcane. For spontaneous casters and fixed list casters, it works a bit different. Its all right there, though.
