The bizarre aberration had clambered over the pile of bodies into the group with utmost confidence. Our heroes had fought bravely, but their resources were dwindling dangerously low. I guess if all of you are gonna get killed, you should get called heroes once in the story.

Fix had continued her rampage, she tried to remember if there had been a swing that hadn't resulted in gore splattered across the room. She sent a goblin's insides across the room and another goblin had immediately taken it's place.

The party turned to face the most pressing threat. It's skin was like rock and your weapons clearly were not effective against it's anatomy. Still working as a team you all hacked and hammered away at it's defenses. Sojan's morning star had smashed out the creature's right jaw but it was Emlyn who had really committed himself.

He had picked himself off the floor and lunged forward slamming his longsword straight through the creature. It's face actually looked surprised by the attack and for good reason. Emlyn had over committed himself and the consequences had been quick and apparent. A heavy pick from behind had slammed downward somewhere near where his clavicle meets his neck. Emlyn had been pulled backwards and down disappearing in the mist. His longsword clattered against the floor and the strange poetry had ended, replaced by the screams of dozens of insane goblins. The beat had still flowed through your head; it had begun to fade but was not yet gone.

The dolgrim staggered but retained it's footing, reloading it's crossbow and threatening the group with it's other two arms. Blood flowed freely from it's wounds. It had been severely weakened by Emlyn's blade.

"Switch places with me." Sir Erky had shouted at Sojan apparently unaware that Emlyn had fallen or perhaps he had some other plan in mind.

"Ok!" Sojan had responded.

Sojan switched spots with Erky and a small but brief struggle had ensued. It had been hard to see it all in the mist but it started with Sir Erky shouting to Don'Moar while distracting a guard and ended with the flapping sound of wings and the dolgrim's throat being ripped out. It had sprayed blood all over the place but stood it's ground before being kicked down by Emlyn who had seemingly risen from the mist.

If you thought Fix and Sojan had been covered in blood, Emlyn looked like he'd been sleeping in it. Huge chunks of gore clung to his hair and face. His eyes showed a frantic look as he looked around blindly. "Where's my sword?!" he had shouted in a panicked voice. A goblin had tried to grab him but Emlyn had placed the shield in between them as a wall as he tried to find his longsword.

Sir Erky had slumped momentarily against the pillar as blood filled his mouth. "Keep your backs against a wall. You got this..." He had said with exhaustion. The hoard came for him then. He had been surrounded and suddenly he had spurred into action. He had blocked attacks and blows with his shield as if he were untouchable and a gnome fifty years younger.

In the midst of the chaos the white light that had protected you suddenly vanished and where you had felt a divine presence protecting you, now you felt abandoned. You would give anything for that feeling again....
