Lume may have noticed something else about her soul, though it is hard to put into words. It just gives off an unnatural feeling about it. Besides being weak it has a different flavor/texture/feeling then any soul Lume should have encountered. Though I'm guessing souls are pretty unique things anyways, this one just seems weird.

"So someone had to do this to me? It wouldn't happen by itself?"

She wants to ask why someone would do that to her, but knows it would be pointless. Figuring out the why needs to come after the who and how.

"That I'm the kind of girl that just jumps in bed with random guys I just met mostly." She rubs the back of her head awkwardly. "Anyway, I just want to make sure you know I'm not really looking for a relationship right now, but you seem like a nice guy and I'd think it'd be great if we could be friends." It sounds better to her than just another one night stand, that's for certain.

Lume would likely write that off as not having seen anyone of her species before - every species has a different texture (I'm going with texture) of soul, and it would be extra-hard to tell that it was especially different because he doesn't know what species her soul is actually from.

"Yes, someone would have had to do it to you. A soul-swap doesn't happen naturally, unless you count true love, in which each person gives a piece of their soul to the other. Anyway, it would be difficult to figure out who did this to you; there's a signature trace, as there usually is with this sort of thing, but it's not one I recognize - which isn't surprising, given that I've only seen five such traces, including my own."

"So... you're not looking for a relationship, but you're not looking to jump into bed randomly?" You're an anomaly then Kitty.

"Eh. Don't worry about it. I'm a friendly kitty." Reinholdt says.

"This cabin one of the deluxe one with showers or am I going to have to sneak over to the public ones?"

Yuki frowns as he explains it to her. So she would have to keep searching for her anwsers, but at least she got another part of the puzzle. She looks down a furrow appearing on her brow as she thinks about this new information.

"Why would someone swap out souls in people?"

Maybe there was a good reason to swap her soul around.

Yuki frowns as he explains it to her. So she would have to keep searching for her anwsers, but at least she got another part of the puzzle. She looks down a furrow appearing on her brow as she thinks about this new information.

"Well, there are several reasons to swap souls. The nicest one is to save a life - transfer someone's soul out of a dying body into someone else's. Of course, that would mean someone else would die in that person's place, so perhaps that's not so nice. Another reason is subterfuge - there is no better disguise than actually using someone else's body to do things. Also, most people can't damage a soul that's in a body, so if they wanted to take chunks out of your soul, they would want to get it moving between bodies first. Or maybe they did it just for fun; some people enjoy that sort of thing."

What Lume doesn't mention is that he has done it for all of these reasons, back when he was bound to T'Lorran's dark will.

"So this might not be my real body, and someone else could be using mine?"

Her wings curl around her just a bit as if they could protect her from bad news. She loves her wings, and finding out they might not by her's is a bit upsetting. Almost more so then the idea of someone using her body.

"Would you be able to find my real body?"

Lume places a glowing hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, but that is almost certainly the case.
When she asks if he can find her body, he shakes his head and sighs. "No. Soul-to-body tracking is a rare gift, and not one I have. I knew a few people who could do it... but they're all long dead.

The news that this probably isn't even her body hits her hard. Her stomach seems to be sinking and turning at the same time, and for a second she feels like she might be sick. She crosses her arms in front of her stomach hugging herself.

"OK. Thank you, bad news is better then none at all right?"

She doesn't sound to convinced.

"OK. Thank you, bad news is better then none at all right?"

"Listen," Lume says, trying to be comforting, "While that may not be your original body, it is still yours. The original owner almost certainly either took your body by force - which gives you the right to keep this one - or is dead. If you want to, I can even use some of my particular brand of magic to lock your soul into this body - a lock which no one but me or a higher ranked Illuminator could undo, unless they somehow had a better grasp of soul magic than a being who is entirely soul. And..." At this point Lume seems desperate to cheer Yuki up.
"and I'll look into contacting some of the other Illuminators who are still left. They might be able to find a soul-to-body tracker."

[McBish]

Yuki looks up at Lume and squints a bit since he is pretty bright. She realizes that he is trying to cheer her up and manages to give him a small smile in reward for his efforts.

"That sounds like a good idea. I seem to be pretty good at loosing things so I guess I better hold tightly onto my soul."

While she appreciates his offer of looking for other Illuminators she doesn't get his hopes up.

"I meant more the people I just met part." She waves her hand dismissively. The details weren't important just as long as they understood each other. "But yeah, friendly. I like that." She gives him a leud wink but with a genuine smile to go with it.

"There's a shower over there. Try not to use all the hit water." She says amusedly.

Marty is easily able to keep up, and so the onion stops. As Marty comes closer, the onion is trembling. And then.... Sppppbbbtt!! It explodes into a white gooey mess. If they look at where the onion was, they'll find a little red garnet.

Marty pauses as it trembles. He frowns, and then it explodes! Oh noes! Gah! J-Jamie! I...I th-think I broke it! Ah! He'll move and pick up the garnet, inspecting it.

Jamie gasps, then steps forwards, frowning, and reaching out to try and tell just what happened using her druid abilities.

Yuki looks up at Lume and squints a bit since he is pretty bright. She realizes that he is trying to cheer her up and manages to give him a small smile in reward for his efforts.

Lume glows a bit brighter, happy that he could help.
"Alright then, hold still. Or don't, it doesn't actually matter - it's just something we used to say when we did this so that people didn't run away," Lume says, jokingly. He places his hands on her shoulders, and suddenly turns a bright, fiery red. red beams of light flow from his head through her eyes into her soul, binding it further into her body. She should feel a sensation of being more in-tune with her body, and she should therefore be more dexterous than she was. Having locked in her soul, Lume lets go of her, and begins to form a globe of light between his hands.

[Reinholdt]

[Maple Cabin]

"Thanks." Reinholdt says, standing. "Can't promise anything though. Well only that if you share, you're guaranteed to get hot water."

Otherwise, Rein'll totally use it all. Maybe. Probably not.

Either way, Reinholdt heads into the shower to get cleaned up.

The garnet is of a fairly good size, about the size of a U.S. quarter? But other than that, nothing special about it.

All Jamie can get from the remains are the thoughts: Keep secrets safe., Enemy's giving chase., and Must explode!

"...I think it thought you were an enemy," Jamie says sadly to Marty, frowning.

Kitty giggles and climbs out of bed to follow him. As she does so, she groans. "Yeesh I'm sore." She certainly looks like she's walking stiffly.

[Reinholdt]

"Well you did go at it more aggressively than anyone I have ever met. And that's saying something, especially considering you weren't feeling well." Reinholdt replies as he turns the warm water on. Sure he doesn't like his current state of being much, but it had its perks. Like not being particularly sore.

"You going to be OK?" Reinholdt asks.

Kitty blushes a little. "I'll be fine. I was suddenly feeling better, actually. I just have to make sure my legs don't give out on me." She's not sure how to explain not being sick, really. The kitsune steps under the water and moans quietly. "Hot water has never felt so good."

[Reinholdt]

She totally pretends to be sick to entrap men. At least that's one of many theories running through Rein's head.

"Well if you need me to wash you let me know. Otherwise don't fall down." Reinholdt offers as he scrubs himself clean with a rough looking sponge he seemed to pull from thin air.

"I could probably use a little help." Kitty says playfully. There'll probably be more than a bit of playful groping before they're done showering, but definitely nothing more than that in her condition.

Once they're out Kitty grabs them both a towel and sets about drying herself. She puts particular attention on getting the fur of her tails as dry as possible. "So what're you going to do now? I'm thinking about a nap myself." Maybe she'll feel less sore after that.

Reinholdt's offer was serious and he didn't intend for any playful anything to occur. Not that Rein's intentions have ever turned out the way he plans.

Reinholdt dries himself and goes about gathering up his gear. "I don't know. Maybe a nap in the sun. Maybe a drink at the taverns. Maybe some treasure hunting or questing. Whatever happens I suppose." Reinholdt says with a shrug.

"Sounds like a plan." Kitty pulls her clothes on, pausing a moment to examine where the neckline of her shirt had gotten stretched. Whoops.

"So I guess I'll see you around then." She says after he's gathered all his belongings. "Lemme walk you to the door." She opens the door out of her room and waits for him to go ahead of her.

"Why how kind. Thank you." Reinholdt says as he makes his exit. "If you ever need me for something or find some abandoned ruins, I live in the Elm cabin over there. No cabin mates either. At least none that stuck around." Thankfully enough. And it means that it is rather difficult to mistake Rein's place as someone else's.

Yuki is definitely surprised when he turns bright red and shoots light into her eyes. She freezes in place till he is done, looking down at the globe of light in his hands unsure of what he is doing now.

Seeing her confusion, Lume explains.
"This is how Illuminators communicate with each other over long distances. I'm not CERTAIN it will work, since we're in another world, but the magic should find a way."
The globe forms into an almost solid glowing sphere, and Lume barks a few short words in a strange language, then speaks normally.
"Contact all: Lume looking for soul-to-body tracker. Will pay. respond if you have info, but DO NOT TRACK. W.D.H.H.I.A."
The sphere dissolves into hundreds of smaller spheres, which fly out of the room in many different directions.

"Great, I'll keep that in mind." Kitty gives him a little wave as he goes. "See you later."

[Reinholdt]

"Have a good day." Reinholdt waves and steps out.

Sophie is sweeping the fresh snow off the steps of her cabin. Nicholas is nowhere to be seen - or rather, he's in the cabin, curled up by the radiator.

Managing to narrowly avoid a disaster running into Sophie as he adjusts his shiny prismatic scarf.

"Good morning."

Sophie raises her eyebrows when Reinholdt leaves the cabin. She was outside for the last few hours, so she didn't see or hear him and Kitty.
"Hello Reiholdt. What were you doing in this cabin?"
