Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
Jodiah skipped gleefully through the carnage and picked up the fallen piece of chicken, placing it back within the cloth bundle. She looks at the elf and smiles her dazed smile "I do enjoy interactive exhibits... though we should continue lest we miss out on more entertainment!"

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
Silas steps over the bodies of the guards and the fallen prisoner. He touches a finger to his forehead in salute to the dead elf. "Long as it's not me, friend." He crowds up behind Sirin, gripping his sword tightly.

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
Sirin hears wind blowing from the space just outside the door to the north. She hears nothing from the south and southwest doors. (The southwest one has a nameplate, BLACKERLY. It matches Kelvan's map.)
The northwest door yields snuffling, and sounds of dogs whining. Yep, kennels.

Sirin Starshine
Sirin points at the door to the northwest and speaks softly.
"Dogs here. The kennels. We might want to throw some of the food in. I think it is a worthwhile risk. Dogs can chase us and track us down."
She points to the door to the north. "I hear wind there. Map says it leads outside to the gate."
She points to the door to the south. "I hear nothing there."
She points to the door to the southwest. "Blackerly's office. But I hear nothing. Maybe he's asleep."

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
Sirin Starshine
Sirin remembers something. She starts to feel the folds of the green cloak she took from the kitchen, trying to find if it has any pockets and if the pockets contain anything.
OOC
SpoilerI doubt that feeling for pockets in a cloak you are wearing requires a Perception check, but just in case it does, here is one:
Perception: (1d20+11)[31]
She looks surprised at Bridget when the stunningly beautiful human woman asks to enter Blackerly's office.
"You want to go in there? He might be asleep, but he might not be."
Still, she kneels at the door, examines it for traps, and tries to open it with her lockpicks. She suspects that the keyring Marthras carries does not hold a key for this door.
Perception and Disable Device
SpoilerPerception is +1 to check for traps due to trapfinding.
Perception: (1d20+12)[15]
Since Disable Device allows rechecks to open locks, I am posting multiple instances of Disable Device rolls just in case the first one fails to get through.
Disable Device: (1d20+10)[19]
Disable Device: (1d20+10)[15]
Disable Device: (1d20+10)[25]
Includes a +2 bonus for using masterwork thieves' tools.

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
Silas waits patiently as Nana Jodi checks the door. "I'm sure we're all eager to let Blackerly know how much we have appreciated being guests of his hospitality." He tightens his grip, eliciting a rasp from the leather.

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
Sirin Starshine
Sirin is perspiring by the time she finishes unlocking the door and stands up. Her hands are slick with sweat and fear.
Softly the half-elf says, "The door is open. Sorry it took so long. This lock is better than the others."
She goes to the side of the door, and gestures for everyone to come closer if they want to.
Intentions
SpoilerWhen everyone is in position, Sirin opens the door just a bit and peeks inside.

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
The door opens slightly... Revealing an empty office. Sirin recognizes it, this is the office where she met Tiadora.
It's a plain affair, with a single cluttered desk and a couple of chairs. Atop the desk clutter sits a half-eaten plate of food.
There is no sign of Sergeant Blackerly.

Sirin Starshine
Sirin lets the door open completely. She looks annoyed.
"Well, shoot. There's no one here."
"But look: Food. And this is his office. Maybe he ate it and fell..."
"But if he ate it, where did he go? He should be here snoring."
Feeling slightly nervous, Sirin goes into the office and touches the food with her fingertips to determine if it is still warm and thus fresh from the kitchen and likely laced with Oil of Taggit.
She also looks through the desk, searching it and any drawers or cabinets for any useful or interesting documents or gear the party can use.

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
Sirin searches through the desk clutter. She finds a map of the prison, more or less matching Kelvan's scrawlings. She also finds a couple of ledgers. A cursory glance through is enough to confirm that Blackerly is milking this place dry and pocketing the money. There should be twice the number of guards in the building, at least.
The food is warm, but only about half of it's been eaten. Sirin knows that sturdy individuals have a chance to shrug off Oil of Taggit poisoning. Looks like he didn't find dinner to his taste.
BRIDGET
SpoilerSudden discussion, VERY near to the door! Sounds like at least two people chatting about dinner, and the whine of a dog. In about ten seconds or less, guards are going to be coming through the door!

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
Four orange globes flicker to life in the hall outside Blackerly's office, drawing eyes to Bridget at the door. The sweats were back; dogs always dogs. At least it sounded like there was only one of the mangy things.
The lights wink out as she retreats from the door to make space for others to take up flanking positions. One hand reaches for her spell component pouch as she signals with her other: two fingers followed by a gesture toward the dead guards in the mess hall followed by one finger and a gesture to the locked kennel.
SpoilerReady Sleep spell, move back down the hallway to put the other Forsaken between her and the approaching guards.

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
As Marthras moves up, the door opens! Two guards each holding the chain for a nasty looking dog gape at the dead guards and tiefling scattered across the hallway... Then glare up at YOU.
Bridget, prepared for this, casts her spell... And one of the dogs keels over, as the rest of them shake it off.
"They're loose! Get help, I'll hold the door!" The guard releases his dog, who bounds up to Marthras teeth bared and barking, and draws his longsword. The other guard starts to run back into the yard, yelling for help!

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
Sirin Starshine
Sirin smiles brightly as she reads Blackerly's ledgers. She murmurs, "Someone has been a very bad little boy."
She looks very intently at the map.
OOCSpoilerOne door leads to Blackerly's office. The one to the north is the way out. One leads to the kennels.
Does the map tell what is behind the fourth door (south one)?
Then she looks up in surprise at the sudden flare of four magical lights, and their equally sudden disappearance, and then the yelling of the guards.
Sirin grabs all ledgers and the map and hurries out of Blackerly's office with one hand, holding her captured truncheon with the other.
She tells the ogre, "Grumblejack, please help kill those guards and dogs."
She moves down the hall to flank the guard.
Actions
SpoilerGrab the ledgers and map and talk, then move.
I think Sirin can only move this round anyway, as she was in Blackerly's office (the southwest door) and probably too far away from the north door, but she will try for a flank next round, if the party's brutes don't kill the guard and dog first.

Re: Way of the Wicked (Pathfinder IC)
@Morbis
SpoilerSure, gimme a CMB check to go shove the meat in the dog's mouth in such a way that it has to bite down.
@Sirin
SpoilerYes, as Kelvan said before, the southern door from the hallway goes into the room which contains stairs up to the cellblock. You came through this room before, when you walked down from the first guardpost. Then you moved into the storeroom to the east, then the kitchen, remember?
Also, the guard's IN the door. No real way to flank him at the minute, but if you want to move up that's fine. Mind you, unless you get acrobaticky the dog will get an opportunity attack on you.

OOC
SpoilerThanks, LD.
Sorry for being dense, but my visual imagination is poor. I'm seldom very good with maps or graphs or with imagining spatial relationships.
Sirin Starshine
Sirin stops before she gets too close to the door. She seems willing to let the male escapees engage the guard and dog in melee.
Then she looks down at the truncheon in her hand and throws it hard at the dog, saying, "Fetch this, doggie."
Actions
SpoilerSirin will move as close to the door as she can while still being about 10 feet away.
Then she will throw the club at the dog.
Attack with club (thrown): (1d20+3)[15]
Damage with club (thrown): (1d6)[2]
Since she does not have Point Blank Shot, she attacks with a -4 penalty for firing into melee.
There may be additional penalties for distance, depending on how away she is.

The dog dies, as Marthra brings his club down on the canine's skull... But not before the inquisitor is bitten, taking a chunk from his leg...
MARTHRAS
Spoiler3 points of damage to you from the bite.
Grumblejack and Silas charge the guard in the doorway, with Grumblejack ending up in the rear, and using his superior reach to stab over Silas' shoulder. Sadly, the ogre's aim is off, and the frantically parrying guard manages to defend himself. Silas, on the other hand, manages to stab him with little effort! The guard gasps, but keeps to his feet, and slashes Silas right back!
SILAS
SpoilerThat's a whopping 4 points of damage! Poor guard's a dead man, soon...
Meanwhile, through the door, Silas and Sirin can make out the other guard running toward the Gatehouse, and EVERYONE can hear him yelling his head off. "HELP! PRISONERS! LOOSE! HELP!"
