Werewolf thread, anyone?
So I got to play Ultimate Werewolf for the first time in somewhere around a year tonight. Can we get a thread going to show some love for this awesomely fun game?
For those who don't know, Werewolf is pretty much exactly the same game as Mafia. For those of you who somehow got through high school without hearing about Mafia, Werewolf is a game where people get in a circle and are randomly assigned roles. Most are villagers but at least one is secretly a werewolf. During the night phase, everyone closes their eyes and the werewolf(s) choose someone they want to kill. That player is removed from the game and the villagers have to choose someone and vote on whether they want to execute them during the day phase. There are also special villagers, like the seer who can tell if someone is a werewolf or not and the doctor who picks someone to save in case they die.
I figure we can use this thread to share great Werewolf and Werewolf-derivative stories or talk about what roles we really like. For example, one of my favorite roles is the Tanner, who hates his life and can only win the game if he dies.

Also, we play at (almost) all of the meetups.
Can't speak for those wacky Brits, though. Who knows what kind of traditions they have for their meetups.
Edit: Can't remember exactly what it was called, but one card gave you the ability to mute someone for each day period. I got it last time I played and muted myself first day (I thought a rather ingenious move at the time). Then I muted Indurain because he thought it was hilarious that I got muted. Then I died early as I normally do in Werewolf. Really need to stop wearing red shirts to meetups...Last edited by Krade; 2013-05-02 at 03:28 PM.

That card's the Spellcaster. Its a lot of fun. In the game I just played, we had a guy who got silenced, then everyone accused him and he had to defend himself using only pantomime. It was hilarious.
I also really like the Cupid role: the one that picks two people to be lovers and, if one dies, the other dies too out of grief. It makes for some good story interaction and is always at least good for a laugh.

I know the Bethesda Softworks Community Discussions forum semi-frequently play Werewolf via posting. I've participated in it several times, it's quite fun.

Yeah, take a ponder at the structured games forum for forum based werewolf games. Less active nowadays compared to the golden age of werewolf, but still some going on.
UKitp werewolf is best werewolf game, however."I'm just going on motive and opportunity here and the fact that if the earth got swallowed by a black hole, I'd look suspiciously in your direction first."
~ Timberwolf
"I blame Castaras. You know... In general."

"Castaras - An absolutely adorable facade that hides a truly ruthless streak."
