All of the scientists I've known, who, granted, have mostly been professors of the sciences rather than full-time researcher-types aside from my ex-future-father-in-law who was more researcher than professor but even then wasn't a full-researcher between administration and mentoring, have both had to have had great senses of humor and have seen beauty in things that would disgust most pedestrian aestheticians.

Heck, for a few months during my junior year of high school, I was on both ends of that at the same time - with the same person. You can't just say that nobody has a crush on you, because you wouldn't necessarily know until they said something.
