The city...a drab mess of squalor and misery, a shadow of its former self. Many lie dead in the streets, sporting sores and boils alike, turning entire canals green with pus when the very sky cries, weeping for the many inflicted with the plague. The year is 1620, and the city is awash with people, desperate for something, anything that can offer some form of stabilty. The plague had recently acted up again, and already the death toll in this city has risen to the hundreds.

"This must be the doing of a witch"

The pope, driven by the will of his people, sought high and low...and found one individual. A young lady, barely out of her teens has been caught and jailed. She was no local, having arrived in the city days before the outbreak, and there were many rumors from locals oberserving her doing some kind of witchcraft. It was even said that she had a book of black magic that she used to affict the citizens with, though no such book was found.

However, rites and countless prayers and rituals by priests and the pope himself proved unsuccessful; the plague showed no sign of stopping. People begun to whisper amongst themselves. Was she really innocent, a victim of chance? Or was she some powerful witch, capable of withstanding the holiness of the pope himself?

There was only one thing to do. Locking her in a cage, a small team of volunteers, lead by two priests and a navigator, to a sacred site, where the most potent of rites will be cast. Surely, no witch can resist that...right?

This is their story.

Each phase will be 3 actual days. During each phase, you can do day actions and night actions. You will have to announce your own day actions in the thread. You can tell us your night actions in the QuickTopic. You can do both at the same time.

What actions can you take?
The main thing you can do is to talk to the witch, either during the day or at night. Of course, people won't know what you're speaking of at night (night actions will be hidden to everyone else), but be warned! There is a chance that someone will easedrop, see what you're doing at night. Other than that...well, what actions do you think you can do? You can do anything from stealing to whispering to other players (via QT). So just use your creativity and run it by us! We're tell you if you can do so or not.

Roleplay is not necessary, but is highly encouraged, not just to enhance your own enjoyment, but others as well. Trust me, this game will be more fun if everyone roleplays. Death will be rare, if at all, so go nuts!

A youth enters the city as the witch is being carted off to the sacred site. When asked who he is, he states: "I'm Thawn, from Garretsville. I'm here to visit my Aunt Merla. She moved here two winters ago, and this is the first chance I've had to come round. Any chance where I might find her?"

(Aunt Merla died in the plague, Thawn doesn't know this yet)

I'm here in town of Judgement to investigate curious state of affairs. Woman here has been accused of being a Witch, using magic. What's real, what false? Let's get to the heart of this matter.

The priest stumbled past the author, as if he hadn't noticed the presence. He spoke softly, mumbling to himself.
"Changing times, a witch brought through,
Shade and squalor, what else is new?"

Chickens! Get your nice juicy chickens here! A beautiful nymph of a woman stands in her stall, holding a dead chicken up by its legs. The chicken does look nice and juicy. She's wearing a tight-fitting dress that clearly shows off her best assets. She's clean, has all her teeth, and looks to be in her early twenties.

She waves the chicken at a passerby. Would you like to try a nice plump breast, sir? How about a tender thigh? These are the best chicken in the all the land! she calls out.
