Re: Your Ultimate IRL pet?
A tiny elephant. Like, mouse sized. It would wrap it's tiny trunk around my finger and play with pencils and stuff and would be generaly adorable.

Re: Your Ultimate IRL pet?
Wait, can we have multiple pokemon teams for this? Because I'd like the whole suite of Eeveelutions, a Gengar, a Starmie, and a Salamence, among others.

Re: Your Ultimate IRL pet?
Normally I'd agree, but remember this is IRL. So although it may look cute and awesome in the games and anime....

In real life I doubt it would have the same effect

Re: Your Ultimate IRL pet?
Ok, the cubone looks freaking adorable, but that ponyta looks like an extra from Ghost Rider.

Re: Your Ultimate IRL pet?
So I haven't followed pokemon since the days of the original red and blue on GBC. How many of the critters are there these days anyway? It was only 151 when I quit.

I use braces (also known as "curly brackets") to indicate sarcasm. If there are none present, I probably believe what I am saying; should it turn out to be inaccurate trivia, please tell me rather than trying to play along with an apparent joke I don't know I'm making.

Re: Your Ultimate IRL pet?
Hmm... how many pokemon are there? I gotta say a cubone, a fully domesticated sea otter, a f.d. giant bat or a f.d. dragon (this could be charizard or salamance or saphiria).
edit: 1. Dangit, ninja'd
2. f.d. = fully domesticatedLast edited by Astral Avenger; 2012-11-18 at 05:11 PM.

Re: Your Ultimate IRL pet?
Better... Try Judo Grizzly
I disliked all the games after third too, (other than leaf green and fire red, they were done well) it just felt like they'd run out of ideas and that they were recycling ideas (as well as Pokemon!!!! I mean come on, turtwig is a reptile with a plant on it's back, that gradually turns into a bigger reptile with bigger plants on it's back.... what does THAT remind you of?!!!!!) and making it 3d and flashy, and replacing the cool avatars with hipsters.
Plus black and white don't even feel like Pokemon games in my opinion, they were always about pure gameplay... I felt black and white concentrated too much on graphics and stuff.... How they got sequels I'll never know'Aside from getting rescued what is it you do?'

Re: Your Ultimate IRL pet?
FireRed and LeafGreen count as third gen. I liked Heart Gold and Soul Silver, because having them remade with better graphics was nice, but the main fourth gen was fairly boring both in terms of plot and Pokemon. (Although the ten-minute bit in the Alt World in Platinum was neat, ten minutes of gameplay isn't enough to pull a whole game.) I mostly only played fourth gen as much as I did because I had Pokemon-playing friends when it came out, and Platinum is really the only of the three worth bothering with. I played fifth gen but didn't bother getting to know the Pokemon (I can't even name most of them when faced with pictures), and I'm not planning to get Black 2 or White 2.

Re: Your Ultimate IRL pet?
I haven't played them. What were they remade for? DS?
Because if so, I felt that's when they started trying too hard. I thought third gen went just far enough with the graphics (with only the one real animation in Emerald), and kept the nostalgic feel the Pokemon games had which made the games so good for me. They were still fairly hard too (not so much ruby and saphire, but FR and LG were as difficult as the originals, if not harder since the original gym leaders and elite four had much higher level Pokemon, as well as extra end game content involved'Aside from getting rescued what is it you do?'

Re: Your Ultimate IRL pet?
Yeah, they're for DS. I was originally kind of weirded out by the DS graphics with Diamond/Pearl, but by the time Platinum and HG/SS came out I was used to it. I generally prefer the older graphics, though. I'm not sure whether I prefer Red/Blue over FireRed/LeafGreen, as each have their perks, but I think Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald is my favourite set overall. And second gen was also great, which is why I liked HG/SS.

My ultimate IRL pet would be a talking black cat with a sense of humor, like Salem Saberhagen!
