I think it is a fan-fic about fictional characters, who became aware of being fictional and are trapped in a story they already know. There was this passage about them experiancing the reality for a while. And yes, it's difficult to become more meta.

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm not making clever speculation, here's what I heard elsewhere:

All the wizard stuff in Rose's house, and her wizardfic writing in general, was mostly imported from my own absurd wizardfic I wrote some years ago, a pretty healthy sized book I never quite finished. It was called Wizardy Herbert, and was a very flippantly satirical story about kids and magic, starting out as what seemed like an unapologetic Harry Potter spoof revolving around a magical summer camp instead of a school, and then quickly launching off the plot deep end into some very convoluted stuff of Homestuckian proportions. In fact, there are many ideas mined from this story and injected into Homestuck. Any time you read anything about magic being stupid or not being real or anything like that, that's Wizardy Herbert talking. Zazzerpan and his full Complacency were minor characters in WH. WH is actually extremely similar to HS, in terms of the nature of the dialogue, the blend of utter silliness and dramatic seriousness, and complexity. It feels like such a similar thing to me, this might be the main reason why I'll never quite finish it.

Herbert is the guy with the eye patch. He had a magic gun. But he could never figure out how to use magic, so he primarily just went around shooting things.

"Herbert, Beatrix, Russet and Grant were friends in "real life". Apparently at some point, Beatrix and Russet dated. They had read multiple times this ****ty wizard fanfic and somehow one day H, B and R found themselves trapped in that narrative, forced to fulfil the actions of the roles they were given in the story.

Eventually they find that the archtypical villain of the story is played by Grant... or rather, he /is Grant/ before he escaped the story into "real life" and who's most likely who trapped them there (probably as part of the spell he used to escape in one of Homestuck's signature Moebius reach-around loops."

Except I don't have a source for the un-quoted part, that's just something I heard on the internet.

So, as Caliborn is following Vriska & company through the Furthest Ring as they hunt for Calliope, he's also vandalizing the place for ****s and giggles. As a result, he's creating the very path of destruction that Vriska is using to find Calliope.

Paradox space is a funny place.

Pretty sure Vriska and the Araneas (We've seen at least one doomed timeline, and I think there were more) are already beacon enough, so given that he hasn't gotten to them yet, I don't think Rose increases the danger they're in. As for the meteor, it's not really related to Lord English's search for Calliope, which seems to be his real goal here.

Egad. Equius combined with Lil Hal. The robot and the robot killer, the depraved and the Depraved. I should have seen this coming, given the Equius has distinctive shades already, but egad!

On the plus side, Halius would finally be a fully distinct individual, as half of his mind comes from a different, yet e%tremely STRONG, personality.
