Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
Spoiler
I'm with Grym. Call me my usual sceptic self but i'm hoping this Jack-English thing turns out to be one of the two following.
1. This is just Jack-noir the puppet, he's not actually English, he's just being controlled by Caliborn, and has been granted powers smiler to those of the handmaid. (the handmaid had flashy eyes too don't forget.)
or 2. Possibly in addition to one, Jack-English and Caliborn will merge together somehow to form Lord-English, my theory is the Cherub Juju's, they were magnetically attracted to one another until they formed the swirly-pop, so maybe if they are re-made as individuals, and Jack licks/eats the green pop, and Caliborn licks/eats the red pop or vice verse, then the two get close enough to one another, they too will become magnetically attracted to one another and merge together in the same way the lollypops did.
Just some speculation.Avy by Thormag

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
Well, that is interesting.
SpoilerWhile I'm skeptical about Jack Noir possibly being Lord English/one of his incarnations (and not just possessed by Caliborn), the idea of Jack trying to kill himself and being yet another avatar of destruction is very, very appealing.

Well, Jack was already responsible for 50% of the Beta kids reaching god-tier. Let's see how many of the Alpha kids he can perform the same service for.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
SpoilerI really don't think Jack is Lord English. I think he's just borrowing some ofCaliborn'sLord English's power for a bit. Jack gazed into Caliborn's hideous soul and what he saw took over. Kind of like Rose going all Grimdark now that I think about it. If it's anything like that, then it will be something just short of full-fledged possession.
Remember, from this page:
uu: I CAN'T EXPLAIN IT.
uu: BUT WHEN I LOOK DEEP INTO HIS EYES.
uu: I CAN FEEL HIM OUT THERE.
uu: IN LATER STAGES OF HIS LIFE.
uu: BY WHICH I MEAN.
uu: I CAN FEEL *MYSELF*.
uu: THROUGH HIM SOMEHOW.
uu: AS IF MY ESSENCE WILL ONE DAY BECOME.
uu: ENTANGLED WITH THE VOID.
uu: AND THEN MYSTERIOUSLY ACCESSIBLE.
uu: THROUGH MY SOFT HAPPY PAL.
This probably has something to do with the fact that lil'Cal (green Cal, specifically) created Doc Scratch, who hostsCalibornLord English. Although that doesn't quite make sense, since that would have if anything given Lord English Caliborn's essence and not the other way around.
I'm guessing we don't know all of Cal's journey yet. The whole process is probably circuitous.

There's one more important piece of information: Caliborn - born of Cal.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
Just read all of Homestuck this las five or six weeks, and figured the Playground had to have a thread.
Really impressed with Caliborn recently. Has become much more interesting of a character at his radio TV-tower.
Agreed. Dave was great. Dirk is such a disappointment by comparison. Bro was cool, but as an alpha...
SpoilerI was of the opinion that Union Jack was merely Jack being possessed by Cal, but I can't explain the billiard eyes. I thought Jack might have been trying to stop himself with the eyestab combo, but then it just played into what Cal wanted, but it might have just been the first step of the transformation. And carapacians are a lot like cherubs physically, (excepting the ugliness and creepy heads) so it's not too much of a stretch for this body to become Lord English somewhere along the way.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
SpoilerSo, Jake's Grandma named his as Jake English possibly to mean Jack + English?
And a hero of Hope was suposed to defeat Lord English, starting with Cronus Ampora in his Harry Potter parody - who just came back with Lil Cal as a Horcrux lite - then Eridan, who gave up, so the job just was left to the next guy, Jake - Bard - Prince - Page
So, maybe Liv Tyler will become Calliope's new JuJu?

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
SpoilerPoint 1.) Maybe. Maybe...
Point 2.) Eridan was the Harry Potter parody, wasn't he? And I don't think he gave up, because he didn't eve know about the existence of English. He more of just... let his jerkiness take control.
Point 3.) Why would Calliope get a new JuJu?

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
Spoiler
Cronus was the one who gave up, as told us in Serket's exposition? Eridan justSpoilerdied.
Don't think Calliope's going to get a new Juju. She's dead, and they all belong to the Felt that we've seen so far.
Plus, it can't be the bunny. Liv didn't revive in the god tiers. Or is it back somehow? Lil'Seb though, I could see, but I feel like Englsih would ahve mentioned it to Jane.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
Liv is already a Juju. That rabbit has bounced through the time and paradox space like... like... like a march hare.
Purchase by Dave
Given to John by Dave as a birthday gift
Given to Rose by John when she was born (Oily bunny)
Given to John by Rose as a birthday gift (Knit bunny) (Technically stolen)
Given to Jade by John when she was born (Knit bunny)
Traded between Jade and Jake many times (Knit bunny -> Liv)
Given to John by Jade as a birthday gift (Liv)
Stolen by Jack Noir
Given to Perigrin Mendicant by Jack Noir for services rendered
Given back to John by Perigrin Mendicant
Lost eye to Clubs Deuce... er, I mean Courtyard Droll
Sent with Dave and Rose to destroy Green Sun
Green Sun exploded, destroying Liv
Whether or not Liv is truly gone is a question, though. Jujus are supposed to be ridiculously difficult (if even possible) to destroy. So far there have only been two people to attempt to destroy a Juju (that I know of).
Spades Slick used the Crowbar (Crowbar's Juju) on Egg's timer. The attempt was decisively successful. (Assuming Egg's timer was a Juju)
Caliborn attempted to convince Dirk to throw L'il Cal into the fires around his house, seemingly believing that this would destroy it. Dirk resisted this attempt. Alternatively, Caliborn didn't give a rat's tail if Cal was destroyed, he just wanted to keep the bloody puppet from entering the Medium with Dirk.
Cal has been diced, burned, abandoned, hidden in a Dreamer's tower, dropped off a skyscraper, and (possibly) torn to bits by Hussie himself, but the blasted thing keeps coming back like a bad running joke.
So we likely have not seen the last of Liv Tyler.Last edited by Calemyr; 2013-02-06 at 02:03 PM.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
I don't think "Convoluted path through time" is a sufficient criteria for a Juju. If it's there, then it's a good sign for somethings Juju-ness, and it may well be necessary, but just because it is there, doesn't mean the thing is a Juju.
People have different criteria for "convoluted", anyway. From my point of view, the Bunny was perfectly linear:
Created and used for Con Air, brought by Dave for John, given to Baby Rose as gift, repaired by Rose, given to John as birthday present, given to Baby Jade, repaired again, Appearified to B2 by Jake, upgraded into Uberbunny, returned to B1, sent to John, lost in car, found by AR, used by Jack to dethrone Black Queen, given to John, shenanigans on the battlefield, sent to Derse, destroyed in Green Sun explosion.
Perfectly straightforward.
Cal, on the other hand, inspires his own creation. (He's created from Dave's subconscious fear of Cal.) It's bad for the same reason Future You isn't stepping out of a time machine to give yourself plans for that same time machine right now. It's a proper paradox.I Wanna Be the Guy Kid avatar by Ceika. Many thanks.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
Well, there is this very suspicious log:
http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=006915
Then, we get the bunny's tragic history
http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=006927
And then, right next, we see the chess game with the Cherubs, with Calliborn's ****ty twist of disguising the King as Queen and the Queen as King. Calliborn even compares the caps as putting a fake tooth.
SpoilerBut the biggest support in this context is this page
http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=007001
Theory: Maybe Calliope only can interact at the beggining of the Universe? But then, she would be so passive, she would almost be like Skaia itself.
EDIT:Also, suposedly Lil Seb has the remains of the Con Air bunny inside him, that Dirk got from Dave's cinema museum.
On the other hand, i wonder if Calliborn is going to make Jack to use the rings of his session.

Also, if the Nobles are so bad at being heroes, and by extension, dying heroic deaths, that might make their immortality a little more useful.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
We know Caliborn is a bit of a misogynist. It could be that taking direct control of a female strikes him as... distasteful. Or it could mean that more direct control means less overall usefulness, so the Handmaid and Condesce are given a lighter touch.
Or it could be that they were stylized at the time to keep things slightly vague. Hussie has a restraining order against clarity, after all. If clarity gets within two universes of his comic strip, there will be lawyers. Oh yes, there will be lawyers.Spoiler: My inventory:

Re: MS Paint Adventures 7: At the Price of Oblivion
The second sentence sense no makes. We haven't seen the handmaid for a while now, so i'm going to guess you're talking about this comic.
Perhaps the carapacians require direct control because they would otherwise resist the ideas/plans English has?If you want a OotS style Touhou avatar, send me a request.
