Default Moving Files from Mac Disk to Windows

I have a copy of an old (1995 old, it's Sam and Max: Hit the Road) CD-ROM. Anyone familer with ScummVM knows that even Windows version of ScummVM can run the files, the trouble is getting them of the disk. I've downloaded a few promising programs, but all have so far required regestration and money to actually move the files over as oppoesd to just viewing.
Is there any programs the Playground can reccomend that are both safe, free, and effective?

My second favorite old mac game after Day of the Tentacle. It easily had the best soundtrack, though.

    Maybe try this?: http://www.emulators.com/explorer.htm

I've never tried it but it looks like it might be worth a shot to get your required dosage of kicking puffy white mad scientist butt!

I actually own Day of the Tentacle too, also on Mac disk.

Sorry for the double post but the above software did not seem to help.
But thank you for taking the time to find it, I appreciate that.

No problem. Sorry it did not work. Only other thing I can think of is finding an old copy of Mac OS 7 or 8 and putting it on a bootable disk with the proper drivers installed to run it. Once upon a time I used to be able to fit a slimmed down Mac OS on a floppy drive, so it doesn't take much, really. Did the old mac disks come with an old mac? I know mine came with my old Performa. But I suppose you'd have the same problem there with reading those disks too. Hmm...

    *googles a bit*

    Here... try this: http://www.catacombae.org/hfsx.html

It should allow you to at least see the files on the disc. No idea if SCUMM VM would allow you to run those files or not though. Otherwise your other option is to find the PC version of the files online somewhere. I know you can still buy the game on PC CD-ROMs from Amazon and whatnot.

Anyway, good luck. I haven't been able to play these games since OS X 10.2 came out and no longer ran OS 9 and prior in Classic Mode. I'm hoping they update these games and rerelease them like they recently did with The Secret of Monkey Island.

It does, or at least it did.
What you do is, if you can get the CD folder open, is copy the Day of the Tentacle Data file (in your case) and copy it over. ScummVM can and does run it.
Also, thank you very much, that program worked perfectly.

Well I wasn't working on it just now. >.>

Actually, it's funny, my kids reminded me yesterday that I had SCUMM VM loaded on my rather ancient desktop PC and had DotT on it already, but the sound had never worked. I had completely forgotten that.

No idea where the CDs are for those old games, now. Possibly in a box in a pile of boxes in the garage somewhere. Or thrown away long ago. The DotT one I had found for use with SCUMM VM years back but my Sam and Max disc I hadn't found then for whatever reason.

Perhaps if I use my Chron-O-John I can flush it through time to myself now, explaining where it had gone in the first place. o.o
