I have a couple of pony games in circulation but I wasn't planning on having this one be pony.

Not to say that I couldn't do a magical girl pony anime but that seems a lot like crossing MLP over with itself.

Forever. All my artistic experience has told me that perspective is a never-ending battle of wits and patience.

It's either going to be a giant robot game (circa Knights of Sidonia) or a dark magical girl game (circa Puella Madoka Magica Magi). System's absurdly easy to learn, posting rate is 1 post every 2-3 days, the players I have scoped are all excellent. Interested?

If anyone else in this thread is interested too, please let me know!
I don't know anything about Knights of Sidonia outside the summary I just read on Wikipedia, but a dark magical girl game might be kind of interesting to try once.

Hello again errypone, trying to get out of a prolonged art-practicing rut so I figured I'd post (pony-related things) here again. Glad to see everyone else is still at it and improving, I've stopped drawing for months at a time and I feel bad about it.

Also sketched a dryad from my current Dominions game. She's kitted out in some minor magic items and is not having much luck seducing enemy commanders to join our side. One in two people decide to fight her instead. She should probably remember to keep those enchanted gladiator gauntlets off.

That looks good. Very dryad without being a silly human/elf copy like most D&D art depicts them. This has an alien look, but still humanoid enough to relate in that uncomfortable uncanny valley way. I like it.

I've been here, I just don't have anything to contribute right now.

That looks pretty rad. The expression is very evocative. Your lineart is looking pretty scratchy, though. Long, continuous lines improve any piece of art - especially when the rest of it looks that good.

I happen to have drawn some pony-related stuff recently as well, so I'm gonna join this thread.

Some more sketch things. The A/RT-ACCS unit, that is like a military version of the Artee. Great big honkin' autocannon, custom guns, sword, bow, supermetal scales instead of regular synth-skin, armor on top of that...

Combines features from four of humans' best friends: mountain lion, velociraptor, armored fighting vehicle, and Hawkeye.

    :P

People have been commenting that the design seems to only have one arm. Seeing as the whole purpose of the faux-wing covers is to conceal and protect the arms, I'd say everything is working as intended. But I still tried to retouch the sketch to show the hidden arm. Not too happy with how it looks, but eh.

    I HAVE RETURNED.

So yeah, things got busy. Got pretty sick for a few months, then had to rush to finish off my thesis because of that, moving around the whole time since my housing ended a few weeks before the program did. Flew across the country, recuperated for a while, flew back across the country for a vacation, and now home again. Plus my computer is breaking. Art was pretty slow during some periods, though I did get a few more canvases painted as well as the usual digital stuff. And then of course there is a ton to upload so you put it off and so on but it just keeps piling up.

Some of the real chaff has been sorted out to a separate spoiler.

    Day 1045-58:

My second canvas painting, and the digital mockup. This one did not come out nearly as good as the first one, there are some anatomy issues and a lot of problems with flatness and depth. I tried to correct the latter with some dark glazing which didn't work out, then tried to remove it with patchy results. Could also do with a background.

    Day 1059-63:

Went on to some flowers. Did the first, it was too far off centre, added a second to balance it out, which just left it looking like it needed a bunch more to fill out the bouquet. So I just left it.

    ----

    Day 1064-72:

Remembered one of the pictures I did for the artistic telephone game that I liked, and the fact I had a bunch of white and black paint that could only really be used in very small quantities. Decided to try the style again. Also my first try with a palette knife instead of a brush for a good portion of it.

    Days 1120-4, 1126-30:

Copy of another piece. Missing day was a long travel day, including such highlights as early mornings, hauling 100lbs of luggage around in 40 degree weather, uncomfortable window seats (I'm decently tall), and thunderstorms delaying planes. I sketched some people waiting during the delay.

    Day 1152-9:

I was playing a lot of Kerbal Space Program. And Gravity was on TV. First canvas painting back home after flying with all my paint. Luckily they didn't explode all over the insides of my suitcase. Was meant to have a bit more perspective, but the shuttle was too short so it looks kind of unusual.

    Day 1160-7:

I don't have a good brush for doing grass. It was mostly doing this painting that it truly dawned on me that I have absolutely no idea how to paint using actual paints. Probably some more tutorials are in order. And maybe more then two brushes.

Started out as something else, then I visited the National Gallery and saw some nice Seurats and Monets and switched over to pointilism. I had forgotten my grade 5 project on the subject that had revealed pointilism takes absolutely forever. I like how the dots look but I probably won't do any more soon.
