    The Chrysalid is successful in grabbing the wolf, and slowly forcing its jaws open despite resistance. It should note that it's mouth is still filled with flames, and the fire and heat spill out as its jaws are opened, increasing in intensity the longer it's held. Might be dangerous even to an armored living thing.

    Aric will have a difficult time finding weaknesses in the Chrysalid's armor. Its joints and eyes are vulnerable, but getting at those with a spear is probably going to be difficult.

    For now, though, the Chrysalid's head is engulfed in flame. In response, it cries out and tries to throw the wolf against a nearby tree.

    Alright, no visible weaknesses...Shield Bash!
    Yes, Aric will now try to smash the two foot round shield into the back of one of the Chrysalid's knees. The shield is made of a material much more durable than steel.

    The wolf is thrown away, crying out, away from the monster, but misses the tree by a little, and scampers back to its feet.

    This is a foe to flee from, not to fight. But Aric is still going after it. It hangs back, waiting to maybe try to distract the beast, but unsure as to what it they can do.

    Smashing the back of the Chrysalid's knee will be very difficult for Aric, given that it's turned straight to him now that the wolf was no longer a problem. That, and the Chrysalid doesn't really have knees in the traditional sense, given that its lower limbs are all very strong blades.

    The creature is likely more agile than Aric, so dodging the shield bash is not particularly difficult for it. it tries to grab his jaws in the same manner that it grabbed the wolf's.

    Tail-Chaser doesn't really notice Blood-Top's unusual claws, because she's too busy staring at the other female's teeth. And by all the elders what a set of teeth it was! She runs her tongue along her own, wondering what it must be like to have teeth like that. Tail-Chaser bet Blood-Top was constantly cutting her tongue on them.
    "Er," she blinks to attention, being too entranced in the other wolfen's teeth to really absorb what she was saying. "Blood-Top, right. Um, how long have you been here?"

    As she speaks, she realizes that her spear is still pointed at Blood-Top's chest. Tail-Chaser lowers it so it points at the ground but is still ready to be brought up at a moment's notice. She didn't want to fight this feral red wolfen but if Blood-Top decided that she wanted to fight, than the length of her spear was Tail-Chaser's best defence from those teeth.

    On a good day, Aric would probably be able to dodge, but his leg is injured...
    Indeed, it would be better to rum away, but now he's being attacked.
    Aric will fall backwards, hopefully out of reach of the creature.

    How ironic, that that very leg wound prevented him from getting away. Still, enough flame hurt it before, so the wolf dives back in, trying to breathe flames enough to hurt at the joint of the monster's leg and its body.

    One is struck in the back and howls in pain as the flimsy fabric of his shirt is turned to cinders as the flesh underneath sizzles and melts. He stumbles, but it's more a neccesity of changing directions at high speed than from the injury. Even with his skin burned black from shoulder to shoulder he's still moving faster than a human possibly could, ducking low, dropping the shotgun and using his hand to help twist around and lunge back at the whisp. The sickle turns into a blur, a whirlwind of magic'ed bronze aimed at the glowing sphere.

    A few feet away, Alpha isn't doing so good. The shadow is thrown to the ground and he advances with the intent to finish the job, but before he can a magic missile explodes against his chestplate. The powered armor does a good job of absorbing the damage, but the momentum is enough to make him stagger, driving the point of his cutlass into the earth as he drops to one knee. And now that his rampage has been brought to a halt, the exhaustion of tanking so many hits in rapid succession begins to catch up.

    Time to do something about that. Hurling the shadow's dagger off into the horizon, Alpha quickly pushes his mask up and shoves a handful of dried herbs into his mouth, grinding them between his teeth. A wave of healing energies washes through him and the bleeding begins to slow, the weariness from the whisp's necrotic surge falling away.

    Before the wolf dives back in, the Chrysalid tries to spew a disgusting green slime down Aric's throat. Regardless of whether or not it's successful, it backs off as soon as it feels the heat of the wolf's flame breath. Luckily for it, the flames only hit its armored back.

    Aric raises his shield above his head, EDIT protecting his face, and rapidly scoots backwards, thrusting with his spear. The likelihood of him hitting anything is low, considering he has a slab of metal blocking his view.

    The wolf scampers away past the Chrysalid, hopefully out of its reach upon being unable to harm the monster. They'll have to use something similar to the bird fight. Probably more complex.

    The flames flicker about in no particular order, not sure how to hurt the thing.

    The bronze sickle cuts directly through the sphere, and for a brief second the Archon goes from a brilliant bright yellow to a very dull grey. The light returns, though it flickers for a few moments, as if the Archon is just barely hanging on. The Archon is running out of tricks, but it casts a quick spell. A small yellow cube encompasses the Archon before it disappears.

    Flumph finds the time to lay on tentacles, and a glowing purple light can be seen behind a small rock formation. From behind the same rock formation skitters the last member of the group, the small dinosaur-like amphibian. Small daggers in both hands and a small club strapped around its tail, the small creature flees to another rock formation, this one a bit closer to First's hill.

    With Alpha eating his healing herbs, the Shadow gets up and starts skittering away from him -unfortunately for it, it is running the opposite direction in which Alpha tossed its dagger. The dragon, in the meantime, has been halted by the cover fire, as the mage armor most definitely would not be able to deflect all of those bullets. Instead, it opens it's mouth, and the bear trap-like item flies forth from its mouth, aimed directly at Alpha's now exposed face. If Alpha doesn't pull his helmet down in time, he may find his face crushed by enough force to make a man's leg.

    Alpha's lucky in that regard. If you'll read my prior post carefully you might note that he doesn't need to hurry with replacing his helmet, because he never removed it, opting instead to flip up the mask portion on it's hinge. Thus he deals with the incoming beartrap by flipping it down again, and raising his arm for good measure so the steel teeth snap shut around that instead. With new strength he pushes himself back up, drawing a pointlessly flashy gold-plated .44 from his belt and returning fire upon the red dragon.

    One snarls, slashing immediately at the blank patch of air where the archon was to see if it's gone invisible. Should there be any reaction to the swipe then he'll follow through with a flurry of wild cuts, but, barring that, his concern is now with the little reptilian thing creeping towards his brother- Snatching up the shotgun from the ground he bounds after it, and having both longer legs and a significant magical edge to his speed I have no doubt he'll catch up soon.

    The Chrysalid could easily skewer its prey and end it here, but it wasn't trying to kill Aric. So instead of using its blade limbs to stab its foe, it lets out a low roar and rears up to try and knock Aric's shield out of his hands. The spear is ineffective, being unable to pierce its armor.

    Blood-Top looks distracted for a moment as she tongues one of her teeth before frowning and grumbling. "Not sharp enough..." She mutters before stretching and pulling a wineskin from her belt and taking a long drink. "Not too long." She admits as she offers the skin to Tail-Chaser and wipes her muzzle clean of the blood that she just drank. "Everything I've seen is simply too large for me to attempt to take down with any chance of success so far."

    Great, besides being ineffective and nearly defenseless, the wind was knocked out of this tired adventurer when he first hit the ground. Something about physics and falling backwards without stopping yourself.
    Now Aric will lie there, holding his spear with both hands while propped up on an elbow, preparing to make a last defense.
    Ash...looks like...I'm the bait...this time... Please understand breathy human.

    The first two shots will find that they ricochet off of the armor, which seems to be weakening slightly. The creature hisses, though, trying to roll out of the line of fire. The bear trap will start to pull Alpha's arm down as if by magic (because it is, in fact, magic) and try to pin him. His strength might be enough to keep him from actually being pulled to the ground, but the average man could probably only sustain the fight for a few minutes.

    As One swings, he will likely hear the shattering of glass as his weapon hits something that pushes his weapon away with a force equal to his own swing. As the magical effect breaks, the Lantern Archon is fulling visible again, and fires a searing light directly at One's face. Again, the internal light of the globe is flickering, and now the light isn't nearly as bright as it was before.

    The dinoamphibian is gazing out from its rock, looking to see where First is firing his weapon from.

    Of course they understand. They just can't answer. The wolf advances slowly, and springs at the monster, expecting it to go after the fallen human as it tried before, trying to burn its less-armored front.
    Unlike before, it won't try to back off just on hitting some armor, it's going to keep trying until the chrysalid does something to stop it, at least.

    The Chrysalid is pounced on by the wolf. Its front isn't much less armored than its back, but its reaction is the same. It tries to bat aside the wolf. The animal could die later. Right now the Chrysalid had priorities.

    If Ash is successfully batted away, Aric will attempt to stab the Chrysalid's face. If not, Aric will hold back, waiting for an opportunity to strike, slowly regaining a steady rate of breathing...

    The wolf is not easily batted away. It ducks under the Chrysalid's arm(?) and leaps at it again.

    Underneath them both, fallen leaves and bits and blade of grass start to smolder.

    The wolf twists to try to avoid the blade limb. It is not wholly successful, and the blade limb cuts its neck open, spilling blood and a vast gout of flame from the wound. The wolf crashes to the ground in a heap.

    The tiny fires on the ground flare up in a protective ring around its fallen body. Probably not anything that would hurt the Chrysalid's bladed and armored shape, though.

    This is the moment Aric has been waiting for! He dips his spear into the protective circle of fire, as his spear absorbs some of the magic flames, the white blade glows unnaturally bright! The Chrysalid should find it difficult to look directly at Aric, who is now attempting to fire flames ot of the spear into the Chrysalid's eyes.

    The Chrysalid's eyes are small and its head is always moving, so the flames pretty much miss, but they still hit its head. It cries in frustration that its prey wasn't going down easily, and moves around Aric for now.

    The wolf merely remains on the ground, flames flickering on its neck. It is trying to regain its feet, but not doing a very good job of it; it just slumps back to the ground. The bleeding is slowing and stopping remarkably fast.

    The flames lean up and in towards the spear, letting as much energy flow into the murynstil as can be sent.

    Aric stops firing, letting the spear absorb copious amounts if flame. He glances over to the wolf and notes its accelerated healing. Aric turns as needed to keep facing the Chrysalid, squinting from the brightness of his own spear. Unless the Creature has some form of visor or crest that protects, its eyes it really shouldn't be able to look in Aric's direction.
    Hsu breath is completely recovered and as long as he doesn't move excessively, the pain in his leg ignorable.

    The Chrysalid's eyes can adapt to sudden changes in light level, bright and dark, so it has no problems looking at Aric. It suddenly makes its move, trying to dodge the spear and grab him by the throat.

    The wolf rises back up, an action that seems all it can handle right now. It tries to track the chrysalid's movement, but can't look in Aric's direction.

    The patterns in the fire around it on the other hand might be more useful to Aric. They stop feeding into the spear, and show a rush of bright light and a figure dashing aside, a warning as the chrysalid starts to move.

    The wolf soon tries to follow to attack the monster itself, but stumbles, and only just regains its footing.
