Re: [PF] A Knife in the Dark, revisited IC
"If anyone else has grub covered, I'm fine."
Kyligan practices swinging his hammer. He's obviously excited.

Re: [PF] A Knife in the Dark, revisited IC
Some packing later, the assembled team headed off with Arcanus to what appeared to be a large, solid rock, but was in fact a cave. The area around it was grassy and clear - there were signs nearby which read "Danger" in most languages. "Well, this is it," said Arcanus. "You guys should go in first; I'm just backup in case anything goes horribly wrong."

Re: [PF] A Knife in the Dark, revisited IC
Ayako draws her bow, and signals for Rei to do the same with her halberd.
"So, who wants to go first? I could go with Rei, but if someone else would prefer to take the lead, I'm sure she's open to the possibility."
"I'm quite capable mistress, but I'll wait in case someone else prefers to lead."
Nevertheless Ayako and Rei move to flank the cave entrance.Computer is back! Yay!

Unsheathing the rapier strapped to her side and one of her knives, Avari steps forward.
"I'll scout ahead, give the place a look."

Re: [PF] A Knife in the Dark, revisited IC
Kyligan readies his war hammer and shield. He then drops to one knee and says a prayer to himself.
After a moment, he rises, and nods that he's ready.

Re: [PF] A Knife in the Dark, revisited IC
It was Avari and Jorna who first volunteered to enter - and as they did so, a massive creaking noise was heard, followed by a snapping noise. It sounded like a trap which - fortunately for the heroes-to-be - snapped halfway through.
Then the zombies appeared. Shambling towards the group, they looked ready to fight, but it was Kyligan who moved first...

Re: [PF] A Knife in the Dark, revisited IC
Kyligan holds his hammer up to his chest, and whispers a prayer to Torag. He asks his god for protection against these vile creatures. Feeling an aura of holy defense surround him, Kyligan let's loose a battle cry and charges straight toward his enemy.
Spoiler
Standard action: cast protection from evil. +2 Deflection bonus to AC and +2 resistance bonus on saves vs evil creatures (new AC is 18). Also, natural attacks from evil creatures fail. This last for 1 minute.
Move action: run up to 20 feet toward creatures (I asked how far they were in OOC thread but didnt get an answer.)

Re: [PF] A Knife in the Dark, revisited IC
As the dwarf charged forwards, shouting his prayer, Arcanus sat back and watched. A zombie lurched forwards towards the dwarf, and landed a less-than-vicious blow upon him...

Ayako nods to Rei, who steps forward to aid Kyligan, then taking a heavy swing at the zombie's shoulder.
Ayako then takes aim with her bow and lets fly at one of the more distant zombies.
SpoilerRei is going to flank the zombie next to Kyligan, then attack it from behind.

Re: [PF] A Knife in the Dark, revisited IC
Next, Rei ran to a zombie and spectacularly failed to hit it, before Akayo let fly with an arrow. Said arrow glanced off a zombie, rendering it moderately irate. This zombie made to attack Rei, doing very little but cause a light breeze.

With the wave of a tiny-ass shovel and some magic words, Serena creates a small hole in the ground at the feet of the zombie that is attacking Rei.

Re: [PF] A Knife in the Dark, revisited IC
Recovering from the initial shock of the zombies' appearance, Jorna raises a branch of mistletoe above her head and utters a few syllables in a language older than Druidic. There is a blur in the air that rapidly condenses into a rangy wild dog, loping across the ground to snap at the hamstrings of one shambling corpse.

Re: [PF] A Knife in the Dark, revisited IC
Serena created a hole beneath the zombie's feet, but calling upon all its awesome undead reflexes, it... well, didn't quite fall over. Avari whirled out at a zombie, managing to damage it noticably. Jorna summoned a dog which managed more to annoy its target than harm it. The final zombie whacked Avari, leaving an angry red line of blood.

SpoilerLord's sakes Avari, ROLL YOUR CRITICAL CONFIRMS. And on that note, roll your sneak attack damage seperately, 'cause it's not multiplied on a critical.
[/dmrage]
Also, you took 5 damage. Ha-ha!
