Dresden Codak has been updated more regularly in the past year or so.

The artwork is still consistently gorgeous.

The characterization is even better than it was in the past, in my opinion. The group with Kim, Elith, and Xiaoling has been interesting and adorable lately.

I've loved Dresden Codak for a long time for a variety of reasons, but Dark Science has been going on for so long I feel like it's changed directions nine times in the interim. The art has indeed become fantastic though, which is surely why the pace slowed down for so long.

So the Dark Scientists can erase things from the universe, breaking the empirical method. Kim's father is supposedly the founder of the city, except that's actually a lie. Also, her father says a bunch of her memories are fake. Do we know how the "Dark Scientists'" power actually works, how old they are, or anything about what they want?

How old the Dark Scientists are is a hard question to answer, because while there does seem to be turn over, it seems that once they've "consumed" their predecessor, the new Dark Scientist will have always been one and their predecessor will have never existed. So a given Dark Scientist is less a person and more a role that people become (which, really is how everyone in this city works, I guess, to a less metaphysical extent).
