Tsukiko calls him "Boot-Wight"* to his face when she asks him to assemble the other wights together (in bonus strip 708a from BRitF), which suggests that it is his actual given name. I like "Bootsy" too, but he's never been called that by anyone in-comic.

*Upon checking, it's hyphenated, so it should really be that way in the OP too.

I don't think you're the only one. I think this matches the appearance of Erik for the strip that'll be the most likely to make me weep.

The rationale for crediting Number of Character Appearances is basically self-indulgence. It's just pretty cool that the thread got a shout-out in comic. I don't think it really deserves a character credit, that's a little too silly, but it's worth commenting on.
