Dice Roller installed

A dice roller has now been installed for the forums. You can use this in any forum you would like, not just the special dice rolling forums.

Although the dice roller does contain code in it to limit cheating, when people can edit or delete their posts it is still possible to cheat. The dice rolling forums were created for DMs who want the added level of security with people not being able to edit or delete their dice rolls. You as the DM are not required to use them and may roll the dice or allow players to roll the dice within the game. Posts in the dice rolling forums are uneditable and undeletable.

Dice will not work in the first post of a thread or if you preview the post.

Code you need to know

Dice format: <number of dice>d<number of sides>
ie. 4d6 equals 4 dice with 6 sides

Modifiers: To modify the total, use + or - followed by the modifier.
ie. 4d6+12

Take best rolls and total: You can have the die roller only take the best rolls and give you the total, use the letter b followed by the number of 'best' dice you want to keep. This only works with normal rolls.
ie. 4d6b3

You can also have the results display a description: [roll=Damage]4d6[/roll]
ie. Damage - (4d6)[11]

Ok, you may have noticed the dice were a bit funky for a bit. Just had to fix a bug with the cheat protection algorithm. They should be smooth sailing from now on... hopefully.

Best of rolls only work with normal (roll) not individual value (rollv) rolling. You also cannot edit in new rolls, they must be in the original post.

Ok cool, it actually states that I cheated, just wanted to see what would happens.
When I edited it, it did actually state that I was cheating, so it seems pretty full proof.

Hmmm, maybe if you guys could supply a little approval stamp thing after each roll to ensure that its an actual roll, and not someone just typing it out. Although, I have no idea how hard that would be to add to the program, so if its completly out of the question, please just ignore my suggestion.

This is a good question, indeed. One way: hit "quote." Real rolls show up as "roll0" etc while the fake typing is just plain text.

Ok just got a better idea, which should prove simpler to add to the program. Maybe show the numbers of rolls in this post were calculated each round in the bottom when the red letters are shown after editing. So if anyone decides to cheat by just writing it out, then it will show it, by saying that he only rolled one actual roll on this post, and not the second by which he just cheated.
