Upon further investigation, all comics up to 0834 display fine.


0835 and later only give a blank white page.

According to the headers, each page was last modified at just after midnight GMT; perhaps this was caused by some nightly process.

I can confirm that this happens here too (using Chrome), but only to strips starting from 637. At least, that's what I'm assuming.

Same here, using Firefox, IE, and Opera on two different computers, one with Windows 7, one with Windows 8. Most of the older comics load fine, but many of the newer ones don't, and some of the older ones randomly crap out as well. No error message, just a blank screen.

It seems like hit or miss. It's down for 637-638, but then comes back, then goes down again 749-757, then comes back again, then goes down for just 811, then goes down again 835 on till the end of the comic.

I'm sure there are more gaps but I'm not going to bother checking.

Probably just a small issue with the server.

comics stop loading at 172 for me too on Firefox (have been on archive binge, starting at 96 today). Has been down for a while. The down strips display the url rather than Giant in the Playground Games when bookmarked, though i don't know how useful that information is. 177 and 178 work fine though, haven't tested further.

#1-#49 are ok, #50-#60 are blank, #61 loads the first 2 cm of the comic. Comics then load normally until #79, #80 and the following don't show up.

It's been a few hours at least, so has anyone checked it so far? Admins, mods, giant? I'm not surprised if they don't know yet, given the holidays.

With the ongoing issues of the forums, using them for a one-day prank with all the work that would entail is very very unlikely to be on the admins' agenda. It's also something that is hardly a tradition on this site.

There have been a few previous April Fools jokes here, but it's always been something that required little effort, such as switching out the list of user titles. I don't think they'd bother with anything complicated enough to involve the main comic like this.
