Re: El Goonish Shive
So, children. Plural. Since Not-Tengu is probably in a position to know a lot of detail about Noriko's life (as creepy stalkers usually do), I guess we can safely say that Tedd has a sibling. Or siblings. Half- or full, I don't know.

Re: El Goonish Shive
The commentary confirms it. I didn't even catch the "first-born" thing, back when Not-Tengu said it.

Re: El Goonish Shive
You know, even Tengu's wings can't be used to fly they look large enough in proportion to the rest of his body that he should still be able to glide with them. Then again I'm no physics expert, so I could be wrong.

Re: El Goonish Shive
Considering his size and heavy build, he wouldn't have much luck using his wings. Sure, even a human without wings can glide using his own body, but it still means falling at least 52 km/h - it's hard to tell, what terminal speed would Tengu achieve and it's too hot here for me to bother making any estimations. Most importantly, he was surprised by sudden shortage of magical flight and didn't have time to do anything about it.
In a war it doesn't matter who's right, only who's left.

Re: El Goonish Shive
So does today's comic count as an explanation for the snow angels?

Re: El Goonish Shive
Grace? Don't you have a party to attend? Or host?

A party being attended entirely by people In The Know. They're probably fine with her going out to save the lives of two members of their social group, one of which is the cousin of the other host and the other is her best friend.

No, I'm just worried we won't get to see the other party (which I'm much more interested in than this one). Or maybe we will. I don't know what Shive is going to do.

Re: El Goonish Shive
I know, but it's kinda hard to tell. This is a setting where a visually blatant alien wearing a shirt labeled "Homo Sapein" is mistaken for a gay pride activist. It can be kinda hard to tell where the lines exist between visual shorthand, human gullibility, and cheap jokes.
Referencing the shirt was just a joke in the first place, though. The point was to bring up the moron twins.Spoiler: My inventory:

Re: El Goonish Shive
I remember people complaining years ago that Grace was a loose cannon, ready to kill at a moment's notice, but their arguments were stupid and I put them down to anthropomorphophobia. But this Grace scares me. Does she really know something about Not-Tengu that calls for summary execution? (Agnification of the partiers would qualify if it were irreversible, as I hope it isn't, but again, how would she know?)
I'm hoping she's just trying to put the fear of Grace into him. and maybe to find out how he justifies what he does.
Anyway: just take the other eye, Grace!

Re: El Goonish Shive
Um, I don't think Grace would be the one doing any killing. If anything, it's the person who called Grace that would have done any kind of shenanigans.
*cough* It's quite odd that he can't hold back with people who harm his family, ironically those who look like his long-lost wife.

For bonus points: read Grace's lines as if she were voiced by Hynden Walch.

Re: El Goonish Shive
I wonder if there'll ever be a proper battle again in the comic, like with Damian. Not that I'm complaining, mind you; I'm honestly curious.

Is it just me, or are the day-labels above the comics messed up?

Elliot, meet Diane, who looks awful lot like that Susan you have a crush on. Diane, meet Elliot, the guy you've been pining for, without even realizing it.

Re: El Goonish Shive
Gotta love Diane's mindset. Monsters, magic, angels, demons, super heroes, and furries... I'm going to go stand by the super hero in case another shoe drops.
I don't remember, has Elliot ever been warned about little miss anti-Susan? I can't tell if he's shocked, intrigued, amazed, but I'm betting on a combination of the three.Spoiler: My inventory:
