I do a very lazy version of stuffed Portobello mushrooms: chopped stalks, mince meat, parsley and garlic, stuff the mushrooms and microwave (crusty cook, so microwave+grill) for 10 minutes. Quick dinner ahoy!

Neat! I prefer vegetarian ingredients to meat but I agree with you - mushrooms are amazingly versatile!

Ahhhh red velvet cake. Me and my boyfriend made some a while back. It came out the same as yours, but for us it's because we used 1 bottle of food colouring rather than 4. Dunno how much food colouring you used.

You are a brave man. Turkish delights are very challenging because...uh...well, chemistry of this caliber is rough. For me. I lost a pan to this recipe once upon a time. It was a good friend.

Odds are I'm going to be working down there until the end of January, unless I a) make an enormous screw up or b) get bored. The money will allow me to pursue more interesting things with my life. On addition, on my way to work, I passed a place that offers cooking and baking courses. If it looks like it might be good, I'll sign up for some lessons and bring the Koala along....
