Re: Koala In The Kitchen
Ahhhh red velvet cake. Me and my boyfriend made some a while back. It came out the same as yours, but for us it's because we used 1 bottle of food colouring rather than 4. Dunno how much food colouring you used.

Yay for biscuits (even though you put jam in them ). Might give this a try myself since it's cold down here now, good for with a nice hot drink

Re: Koala In The Kitchen
I love cooking. I stumbled across this thread. Read several of your blog posts. Quite entertaining.
If you try this again, I recommend you try this amazing recipe for you that I use as an inspiration. (fun cooking site btw). I have found that sauteeing garlic then red onions gives a wonderful base to mushroom dishes.
You are a brave man. Turkish delights are very challenging because...uh...well, chemistry of this caliber is rough. For me. I lost a pan to this recipe once upon a time. It was a good friend.Last edited by ~Corvus~; 2014-09-03 at 05:24 AM.

Re: Koala In The Kitchen
I see the meta-plot thickens, unrelated to the actual foodstuff made.

Huh, how long will it take for you to get your own apartment (with equipment)? A full paycheck's time?
Either way, glad to see things are going up for you.

Re: Koala In The Kitchen
Odds are I'm going to be working down there until the end of January, unless I a) make an enormous screw up or b) get bored. The money will allow me to pursue more interesting things with my life. On addition, on my way to work, I passed a place that offers cooking and baking courses. If it looks like it might be good, I'll sign up for some lessons and bring the Koala along....
