I feel pity for her, does that count? It's sad when someone is that broken in the head. I feel worse for what's-his-name though. Poor kid looks really defeated. Hopefully Renardine will do something about this, but the evidence thus far suggests he generally doesn't care what Hetty does.

This is actually going to be an interesting look at Rey's current morality. Will he let Adam know what's going on, directly or through Annie? Or will he keep quiet? And let Adam have an 'accident', too?

While Reynardine has been extremely patient and diplomatic with Hetty and putting up with her, he is growing increasingly uneasy. Between Hetty's behavior at cemetery and her growing more and more unhinged around Adam, he looks more and more like he is evaluating what their friendship means to him.

And I think he made a choice. He doesn't need to transform to drop the items that he carries. He just needs to decide not to be an accomplice in Hetty's schemes. How much more than that? That will probably depend on her reaction. Or maybe not. Whatever Reynardine has decided may be his choice alone.

I think this chapter gives excellent characterization of Reynard. Kudos to Tom.

If Renardine destroyed his current body, would he be free of Annie's control? He'd want to have a body to inhabit ready.

If he can take a doll, then why not a robot?

Rey can't change bodies without Annie's consent, so he probably can't destroy his own. I'm sure he's changed form.

But if your comments vis a vis this are sincere, why do you even come to this thread? Or read the comic, even.

If they are not sincere, I find them irritating.
