Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
SpoilerMyeehh maybe? Who knows with ghosts? The memories could be implanted because magic. Don't gotta explain jack. It's probably more likely that she is an actual previous life though.
Also notice a continued boys&dogs girls&cats theme. Although that might just be to cement that Shoko is another form of Finn, similar to Fionna.

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
Mind = Blown
As much as I adored this episode, this whole back story probably wasn't planned until they started writing season 5, somewhat lessening how great this was. Unless someone can prove otherwise, I think the writers realized they had an unresolved plot detail and turned it into the coolest thing imaginable. It wouldn't be the first time they ended an episode with something unknown with no plans to bring it back but then later changed their minds (see the first Treetrunks episode)

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
I don't think Shoko's ghost was doing the haunting; it's more like his past life's memories are bleeding through to his conscious mind, and he interprets those memories as ghostly manifestations because they're scary (not to mention painful: I really can't blame Finn for repressing that particular death ). That's why, in the last scene, Finn sees Shoko where PB sees a humanoid skeleton.
tl;dr It's all in his head.
By the way, am I the only person who now wants to see a comprehensive guide on the religions of Ooo? We now have the confirmed existence of the Underworld, at least thirty-seven Deadworlds, and reincarnation, not to mention other beliefs like Jake's Nirvana-esque union with Glob.

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
I don't know when the episodes are aired, so I sometimes check the thread just to see if there's a new one, so I actually appreciate the first few posts being spoilered.
Anyway, just watched this one. Superb! The show is finally picking up again. And the recent comics have been fantastic too!

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
I just realized during my 2nd viewing that the banana guard that spots Shoko and her tiger is green. He's not ripe yet! I love how much this show puts into the details.

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
Yeah, Shoko's death was really, really unpleasant when you actually think about it. I mean there must've been catastrophic organ failure involved, or else some kind of internal rupturing or damage from the sheer weight of the mutations involved. Heck, given how much mass she gained she either had a bunch of her body broken down to make it or physically absorbed and incorporated the goo into her body, and that stuff was hella radioactive.
I mean I'd wager like five, maybe six things probably lethal on their own were going through her body towards the end. She was certainly feeling it, since she knew she was gonna die when she did. It wasn't exactly a pleasant way to go.

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
Well, this show is like a bloody running commentary of the fanbase's concerns, isn't it?
"I think we could go back to adventuring now."
"Nope, still not over Flame Princess."

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
So, Finn karate chopped a tank's turret in half. And yes, they do appear to be actual metal tanks coated in slime, rather than made out of slime. I guess that explains why Finn hasn't been carrying his sword around as much lately.

I'm curious about the radio show they seemed to be making at the beginning.

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
Well, that was a rather single innuendo laden episode. It didn't help that Slime Princess has a very adult woman's voice.
Seriously, how the heck did they get away with theWhile not fingerprints level of radar bypassing, it's still rather a 'what the. . . ' moment.Spoilerspooning part?Last edited by Ravens_cry; 2013-09-27 at 12:15 AM.

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
Well, it looks like Dungeon Train is going to be an allegory for substance abuse, so that will be interesting too.

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
I just trawled through this thread to see what everyone thought of "I Remember You" when it first came out, and I'm surprised to see that I had posted something way back then. Huh. Crazay.
It is my belief that the Ice King does not really fight seriously at all, either because he's forgotten how or he doesn't realize the gravitas of the combat. Also he's kind of a dork.
Do you know what would make me fall apart into a pile of squeeing giblets? Seeing the Ice King protect Marceline or somesuch and get serious during a fight, and do something amazing.

Personally, I want to see him pull off some Fridjitzu while he's crownless.

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
That's what I mean by the 'single innuendo'. It wasn't even really trying to hide it.

Re: Adventure Time II: Everybody Knows Your Name
Her face looks like a butt.
Also, that made me decide to go do a google image search for her (specifically "bonnibel bubblegum") and found the best fanart outfit ever:
