PTA Johto: Guardians of Legends (IC)

Oh ****! Lance pointed a wavering finger at the stowed gear. That stuff! It has the same mark that guy who stole Bannana had on his jacket! Lance then realized how loud he was speaking and clasped his hands over his mouth, blushing profusely.

Tala cringes slightly as Lance raises his voice, both for the reason that someone might have heard him and the sleeping bats above. "Shush..." She shushed, probably in vain and on impulse, before she took her bow in hand. "Are you sure?" She whispered, whilst examining the equipment and trying to piece together what plan they were meant for. She even contemplated risking snagging the gear, since it was useful gear and if they belonged to the people who are trying to pokenap the legendaries then she would certainly feel much better if she was able to hinder them in anyway.

Lance nods furiously, not moving his hands from his face.

Julius hung at the back of the group, none too excited at this new development. It included both proximity to dangerous enemies and prolonged exposure to the guano. Not good. Wouldn't it be better to keep moving and pretend that we weren't here? Whoever they are might think that we're still back in Ecruteak, which could be a really useful diversion.

Adrian nods, face slightly pale, at Julius's suggestion. "Yes... let's keep moving, please..." he mutters, fighting the urge to retch at the stench here.

Tala sighed as some of the others in the group beg to simply move on. "Fine... i'll radio it in when we get out of here..." She was a little annoyed with the somewhat selfish thinking that they were the only ones this Team Rocket group would be going after, but whatever. They're not rangers, so she couldn't to ask them to do the things she does. "Lets keep moving on then." She moved forward, bow still in hand, with the intention of returning to these caves later for further investigation. Alone if necessary.

Lance's shout echoes through the caverns for a moment, but it seems the sound is drowned out by the waterfall... Please, please be drowned out by the waterfall. As you move along the wooden bridge, there is a faint sound in the distance, a mix of high pitched chittering and something like a hundred leather gloves being flapped about. As you reach the end of the bridge though, the source becomes more apparent: a swarm of Zubat, very clearly angry at being woken up at this time of day, are flying from above the waterfall, towards you lot by the looks of it.

While crossing the bridge, you hear a noise that doesn't quite sound natural to a cave from deeper in.

Catching the sound a bit better than Julius, you think it might have been a gunshot, or maybe a sound-based attack of some sort. Knowledge: Pokemon to attempt to identify.

Julius ignores the sounds and releases Opal, the castform hovering just in front of him. His outfit was ruined, not that he cared about this cheap stuff.

Tala reaches one of her pokeball when she sees the swarm of zubats flying towards the group and released Ao, her turtwig. During the commotion she heard a strange sound and tried to identify it in case they had a bigger threat on the way or not.

The two swarms of Zubat descend upon you all, a wall of bats nearly blotting out what little light did not originate from your flashlights as you let your Pokemon out. A piercing sound rings through the caves, disorienting Banana, Lance, Tala, Rock and Opal, leaving the five of them Confused.

Adrian grimaces, but moves around the group, pushing his way around the bats. As he does, an aura of multicolored light surges around his arm, and he thrusts his hand towards the Zubats. After a moment, the aura solidifies into a sphere of silvery light spinning around a sparking silver core, and streaks into the swarm.

Banana! Do somerthing! Lance slurs as he whirls around, stumbling and falling on his face. Banana fares no better, as she twists in a circle uselessly.

Forgetting for a moment that he didn't care that his clotes were being ruined, Julius threw himself to the ground, scraping his hands on the way.

forgot to actually act on my confusion :P

As went Tala pulled back on her bow string, she seemed to have forgotten how to hold the arrow properly. So when she went to release the arrow, the bow flew out of her hands while the arrow spun in the air for a second before cutting her arm on the way down.

Several bats shriek at the metallic debris tearing through their swarm, several falling to the ground. They rush at Adrian, engulfing the musician in a swarm of leathery wings and teeth, biting at his arms and face, leaving him flinched as he tries to fight them off. He also takes 25 Physical Dark damage.

The other swarm charges through the group, tearing through nearly everyone else. Rock, Tala, Opal, Julius and Lance catch the brunt of the charge, taking 35 Physical Flying damage as the Zubat fly through and around you all.

And the group that just tore though the majority of you turns back around, slashing at Rock, Tala, Opal, Julius and Lance again for another 24 Physical Flying damage. Adrian is slammed by dozens of bats for 34 Physical flying damage.

"Ao, tackle the swarm!" Tala called out to the turtle, perhaps not using her best judgement at the moment. Regardless the turtle rushed forward dauntlessly and threw itself at the nearest swarm cluster.

Lance continues to wheel around and smacks himself into the cave wall. Banana, however, manages to clear her head unleashing a wave of bewildering energy at the Zubats.

Opal, not affected by the confusing sounds, whirled and shot a cone of blistering cold snowflakes at the first swarm.

Adrian is further assaulted by bats, for 31 Physical Flying damage. Banana's mental assault on the bats is somewhat effective, but there are just so many to try and focus on that it isn't as effective as targeting one bat would be. Ao's tackle is about as effective as one would expect body slamming a swarm would be. Still, he did squish one really good. Opal on the other hand... The icy blast tears through the swarm, freezing bats right out of the air and scaring off the rest, who flee from the threat that was clearly scarier than whatever they were flying away from.

The swarm then turns on Opal, the biggest threat in the cave, biting at him with sharp little teeth for 29 Physical Dark Damage.

Tala manages to shake off the confusion and becomes aware of the situation again. First thing she does is chugs down the last of her enriched water to save herself from collapsing. Once she catches her breath, she sends out Yuqiang to join the fight.
